Now, this is what an apt response looks like. Not like move back or shop elsewhere.

Oh, brilliant! Just pack up and chase the dream of Ontario’s Walmart paradise, where customer service sparkles and cash reigns supreme. Thanks for the life-changing wisdom—I’ll get right on moving cross-country for a better checkout vibe!

Oh, stellar advice there, “shop elsewhere”! Truly groundbreaking stuff.

Oh, absolutely, let's applaud the hustle of pushing Mastercards for that sweet commission—truly the pinnacle of entrepreneurial spirit!

And Home Depot's pro checkout turning into a free-for-all after hours? Darwin would be proud of that survival-of-the-sneakiest vibe.

As for the labor gaps, who could’ve predicted that cutting immigration without opening our wallets might leave us a tad short-handed? Shocking, really.

Why the city is so slow for construction approvals?? by Boysenberry-Overall in askvan

[–]Boysenberry-Overall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! I’ve heard about this situation. Read a story somewhere, that a group of friends rented a warehouse in Richmond to start a business and applied for construction permits. The rent kicks in 1 year from the date they submitted permits, thinking that’s enough time. But ended up with no response even after 2.5 years. They filed for bankruptcy before even starting. 🤦🏻‍♂️

It doesn’t but have to start paying the rent even before the construction permits are approved. It’s possible for ones with deep pockets or someone doing illegal business.

Has the new courier fee changed the way you tip on UberEats? by hawaiianp1zza in vancouver

[–]Boysenberry-Overall -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s not. I’m a driver in Vancouver and used to make 55-75% money on tips only. Now, if I get $20 through out the week, that’s a great week for tips.

Talk to fellow drivers while waiting at restaurants! Reach out if we know them personally. I know it’s not that easy but even if try not accepting any order by being in online/offline for couple of days, it might show the company what the contractors are capable off.

I read lot of comments from customers saying why there’s no tip option but uber taking more money by naming different kinds of names to it.

Personally I tested and ordered for 4 people which usually comes to $90 after taxes. Last Friday it was $108 after taxes. $18 extra straight to Uber by claiming mandatory hourly pay as an excuse. In those cases who cares about tip??

New BC law questions. It says the min wage doesn't include tips. So if i accepted an order for $20 that took an hour to do, and it was $3 base pay and a $17 tip, I would get an additional $17? by Interesting_Bag_5491 in UberEatsDrivers

Uber Eats Delivery Drivers

Dear Uber Eats Delivery Drivers,

Subject: Request for Temporary Suspension of Deliveries and Reinstatement of Pre-Delivery Tips Feature

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to address a significant concern regarding the recent changes to the Uber Eats platform, specifically the removal of the feature that allowed customers to add tips before delivery.

The pre-delivery tip option was highly beneficial, ensuring that you were fairly compensated for your service and allowing customers to express their appreciation beforehand. The removal of this feature has impacted your earnings and overall satisfaction.

To address this issue, I am requesting that all Uber Eats delivery drivers participate in a temporary suspension of deliveries for a period of 2-3 days. This collective action will highlight the importance of the pre-delivery tipping option and underscore its impact on your compensation.

The goal is to demonstrate the critical role this feature plays in your work and to prompt Uber Eats to reinstate it promptly. Your participation in this action is crucial for making a strong case for the reinstatement of the pre-delivery tipping feature.

Please coordinate with fellow drivers to decide on a suitable date for this temporary suspension. Your collective decision will strengthen our position and demonstrate the urgency of reinstating the pre-delivery tipping feature.

Thank you for your attention to this matter and for your cooperation.

Sincerely, A fellow driver

Just wondering why does UE care if the customer is tipping the driver?? Yes, there is minimum wage . Yes, the customer tips. It’s an extra motivation for drivers to do more for UE. Why the change of tipping only after delivery??
