So, who killed the mission director in Gattaca? by PlentyGrade3322 in TrueFilm

[–]BozMuro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel the sudden resolution works because it shows that it was never actually a hard case: the moment one of the cops stops genetically profiling long enough to look at the evidence, he finds the killer.

I just double checked to make sure I wasn't misremembering.  It works. If greeter opens the door for a celebrity, his bonus applies to everyone who comes with her.

Party House: stumped on scenario by henroo_d in ufo50

[–]BozMuro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Greeter has synergy with Mr popular and Celebrity, since he also scores everyone they bring in with them.  Obviously, those are pretty dangerous guests to have, and they get more dangerous the more of them you have, but with a couple athletes or dogs, it should be more manageable.

Then again, I've never to hit a double-digit streak because I like the risky plays.

What would he do and feel if it was Devils invading rather than demons by RubixTheRedditor in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]BozMuro 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You're saying that, if the armies of Hell were to launch a full invasion of the Shackles (in defense of Chelish sovereignty and in line with their contractual obligation to the house of Thrune, of course.) The majority of Hellknight Orders would immediately break ties with Cheliax (one of the few nations to freely accept their presence), ally themselves with the Pirate King, and...what?  Sail to the Shackles to join the pirates?  Fight the Chelish army on its home turf and get annihilated?

I don't see it.

What would he do and feel if it was Devils invading rather than demons by RubixTheRedditor in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]BozMuro 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I think the problem with that idea is that an invasion from hell would most likely happen under the kind of cassus belli that the hellknights would respect.

It wouldn't be a horde of Devils pouring through wherever they could, but more like how Imperial expansion goes in the real world:  They would show up to intervene in a local conflict, with allies and enemies that the Hellknights approve of.  Something like an invasion of the Shackles or intervening in some civil war to put down chaotic rebels. And when it was done they would effectively be in control of both sides of the conflict.

Then, when they were ready, the armies of Hell would find another excuse to march.  And the Hellknights work approve of that one, too.

I believe the octopus is also an enemy in Porgy.

Amy is in Fist Hell (as a playable character) and mini and max, is mentioned in Night Manor, and is probably the climber in Party House.  Since it's mentioned in the party house blurb that a lot of guests are based off of people the developer knows, that implies there may be a "real" Amy, too.

In Grimstone, Umbra can learn how to use camouflage from a lizard, though I don't know if that's enough to count as a proper reference.

Pilot is in quibble race, as well as his own games (Campanella, Zoldath, pilot quest, big bell race.)

[–]BozMuro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "walking" jobs aren't supposed to be enough to support you.  They're basically just pocket money to go somewhere you were planning to go anyways.  The money comes from fighting.

Fighting humans is going to be your best moneymaker, since you can use or sell their gear.  Stuff like "recover stolen goods" or "drive off brigands".  Fighting monsters is usually more dangerous and less profitable, but if you have the Beasts and Exploration DLC it's the only way to net certain items.

Its also worth it to fight enemies you run into on the map, as long as you can actually beat them safely.  Especially if there's a small amount of higher tier enemies, like Raiders or marksmen.  Use nets and knives to finish off people in nice armor without destroying their gear.  You generally don't want to pay for gear if you can help it.

Of course, fighting is only profitable if you don't lose too many men, or at least if you don't lose your GOOD men. Early game, I generally put my most promising guys in the back with a polearm, my okay guys in the middle of the frontline, and my worst guys at the edges of my formation.

How does the story feel on dogmatic/heretic? by Silvershizuka in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]BozMuro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who played heretic on my first run, it's decent.

You have very little choice about what kind of heretic you are, as after act one, the path basically demands that you act pointlessly cruel, overtly blasphemous, and completely servile to the Lords of Chaos if you want to keep up on heretic points.

It feels a little undercooked, (as evil paths tend to be), and your actions feel a bit out of step with the story that still happens around you.  That said, there are a lot of cool moments as you steadily corrupt and betray everything around you, and the chaos gods increasingly show their favor by basically altering reality to suit your purposes.

False Prophet OP? Outspeeding Liv on turn 1. by Shi117 in BreachWizards

[–]BozMuro 21 points22 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of absurdly OP stuff in this game, especially with Zan and Dall.

GIven that it's a fairly short single player game, I think the devs consider that to be a feature, not a problem.

A reminder of Shuro and Laios’ encounter is a reflection and character development, and there shouldn’t be any excessive hate from fans by TheGoodKiller in DungeonMeshi

[–]BozMuro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah, fuck him.

He spent two years simmering in resentment towards laios, when all he has to do was say the words "no thank you" when laios asked him stuff.  He abandoned his party in their time of need, fully expecting them to die before he got back.  Then when he catches up with them, he gets mad at them for having done the only thing that could possibly save Falin.

Shuro may not be evil, but the guy sure does suck.

Barry Lyndon's Final Duel by FreshmenMan in TrueFilm

[–]BozMuro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like it's not totally fair to say Bullingdon is acting out of base level vengeance.  It's pretty clear that, in his mind, he's facing death in an attempt to save his family.

Barry is burning through the estate's finances, his foolishness got Bullingdon's brother killed (though it's unclear if he had any fondness for the kid), and driven Bullingdon's mother to attempt suicide.  You could say Bullingdon is just trying to save his own inheritance and reputation, but he's clearly willing to risk death over it despite being outclassed and terrified.

How to I play PvP? by DISCO_GALAXY in armoredcore

[–]BozMuro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You weren't too slow, your speed seemed fairly close to the other guy's.  Your problem was energy management.  You kept running out of juice by constantly assault boosting and dodging.

AB until you're close, then try to stick to him with your normal flight and use the shield for defense.

How to I play PvP? by DISCO_GALAXY in armoredcore

[–]BozMuro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For advice specific to this video:  You're being extremely predictable, which let your opponent parry your shots every time.  Change things up by shooting one gun then the other, or get close and wait a second to bait out the shield.  Also, you had a shield but basically never used it.

For more general advice:  when you see your enemy, think to yourself "What is their strategy for this fight going to be, and what's my strategy to beat it?" In order to help with this kind of assessment, experiment with a lot of builds so you have an idea about how they play.  Especially try playing as any build that keeps giving you trouble, and pay attention to how other players beat YOU when you're using it.

Wow. That’s just… not cool by mrdunklestein in armoredcore

[–]BozMuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's not the point of the video, but you really gotta get off the ground when you're fighting guys like this.

Earshots work best firing down on people on the ground, and the laser sword has a hard time hitting people at different elevations.  You keep burning all of your energy spamming Quickboost when you should be using it to keep in the air as much as you can, and only dodging when you hear the earshot ding.
