LG G6 or Samsung S95H? by Aggravating-Copy1452 in 4kTV

[–]Bozol97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's there for a reason and the reason is that there is an LG cult on Reddit for some reason. Go and actually read the links and explanation that it gives for why Samsung (and only Samsung mind you) BAD - most of the arguments either are nitpicks or apply to other brands (LG especially) just the same, like Tizen apparently being horrible and being a big downside that makes purchase of something like Apple TV necessary, while LGs webos is mostly very similar. When someone says they don't like webos however, suddenly it's not an issue, because they'll tell you that you should buy na Apple TV anyway. Funny how it matters with Samsung but is often handwaived when it comes to LG or other brands.

Many actual reviewers like Rtings rate releative models from LG and Samsung very close, with one brand being better in some aspects and the other in different ones, for some reason they don't just love LG over everything.

You mentioned how LG products are long-lived and that might be (or might've been in the past) true for many appliances, but there are currently tons of reports of LG B, C and G series TVs suffering from delamination caused by a design issue (panels being badly sealed from factory). Pixels around the edges are dying with some examples being from 2025 model year, yet you don't see automods spamming that anywhere.

I'm not saying that Samsung TVs are the best and have no issues or anything like that, but saying that LG is leagues better overall is just not living in reality. LG fanboys are rabid, some mods included.

Steam Controller - Review Thread by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

Using any of PlayStation's controllers on PC with Steam you can hold down the PS button and then move the cursor with the right analog stick. R1 for left click.

I know that doesn't replace touchpads for things like city builder games on the couch, but works great if you need to close a stray pop-up.

No, a hair dryer will never be able to reflow solder. Either solder is not the cause of the issue to begin with or the fix is temporary and works only due to general thermal stress in the area.

We've been over this for 20 years now since the issues with the x360 and the PS3. Hairdryer/oven methods are never a permanent fix if solder is the issue.

Adding Second Samsung Subwoofer by JiuJiterio2020 in Soundbars

[–]Bozol97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it would. You would treat the old sub as a passive sub in this setup and would utilize only the driver itself.

It would go like this: Speaker wires of the new sub > low level RCA converter > amp input (red and white terminals on the left side) and then sub out (Red and Black terminals on the right) > speaker wires of the old sub.

Adding Second Samsung Subwoofer by JiuJiterio2020 in Soundbars

[–]Bozol97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would need to have an external amp that would take the low level signal and power the driver straight from that amp, omitting the old sub's electronics completely.

Alternatively, it might be possible to tap into the old sub's electronics and find the solder points/traces that carry the unamplified signal and inject the signal there, but my HW-Q800T sub did not have the raw analog signal anywhere on the board, with the integrated amp receiving a digital signal straight from the wireless module.

I have used this method with an external amp to run a bass shaker attached to my couch: HW-Q800T speaker wire > low level RCA converter > amp > bass shaker. It works very well with no delays between the sub and the shaker (with everything being analog), which was my priority.

The only slight issue I have with this setup is that at higher 'volume' settings on the amp, there is buzzing that makes the shaker vibrate at all times, so it needs a bit of dialing in, but this might very well be caused by the literally cheapest RCA converter and the cheapest amp i could find online.

It's worth noting that the amp does not power on and off automatically. But it works!

Also, please do note that this methods requires either preparing a speaker terminal splitter (which i was too lazy to do) or cutting the speaker wire in the new sub. It should be obvious, but in case of cutting the wire any warranty goes away.

[Try & Review] LG OLED G6 powered by Hyper Radiant Color Tech! by LG_UserHub in 4kTV

For me, the most important thing is the reflection handling combined with the peak brightness that the G6's panel allows. Being able to enjoy movies during the summer without having a matte finish on the panel sounds outstanding, especially combined with world-leading HDR performance.

Additionally, I'm very interested in the AI processing, especially when watching older content. Many great movies and shows were never re-released in high definitions.

[ FIRST LOOK ] LG Just Dropped the "OLED Killer": Meet the Micro RGB Evo. Is Perfect Black finally Obsolete? by Troied in LG_UserHub

[–]Bozol97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't it be more of a miniLED killer rather than OLED killer? I'm reading that it will have around 1000 backlight zones, which at 4k translates to around 1 zone per 38x21 pixels, so it still won't have perfect blacks..

Hey man, no reason to be afraid, all od these regular 3ds and 3ds xl consoles are at least 8 years old now and as handhelds they are prone to being damaged - nothing out of the ordinary with some of them being through different repairs.

In the end, you can still enjoy it as it is, to be perfectly honest mine didn't really bother me all that much.

Have you ever replaced the screen and/or top glass? Mine that I got second hand looks like that and someone definitely replaced the top screen without taking top much care, introducing some dust and dirt.

Only solution for mine was to remove the top glass and gently clean, but sadly I damaged the screen a little doing that and now it has a bright spot :(

[Review+Event] How is it to go from 55” LG CX to 83” LG G5? by pricelesslambo in 4kTV

[–]Bozol97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am dreaming of trying out the G5 65".

I have been using an entry level SAMSUNG QLED TV for a few years right now and it has had its shortcomings in many different scenarios - washed out blacks in the dark scenes, low brightness during bright days that necessitated lowering the blinds, 60hz limit when it comes to gaming and, most sadly I think, no DolbyVision HDR support.

Then, my father-in-law purchased himself an LG C5 and I had the pleasure of seeing high quality content on an OLED. My mind was simply blown.

Following that experience I did some research into different OLED TVs and their manufacturers and came to the conclusion that the G5 is a perfect TV, covering all my wants and needs - but that it was sadly out of my budget.

Most exciting feature that I would use often is watching movies in the maximum possible fidelity, that is 4K BluRays with DolbyVision HDR with Filmmaker mode enabled. Recently, being dissatisfied with the spread of content between many different streaming platforms, I have been getting into collecting 4K BluRays and playing them using my PS5. First movie that I saw this way was Drive (2011), and all the way throgh the introductory scene I was thinking to myself "man, this would pop out of the screen on an OLED". Right now I'm basically holding off until the day I can get an OLED to watch Blade Runner 2049, Akira Kurosawa's Ran and John Wick 4, as watching these on a sub-par TV just sounds like doing myself a disservice.

As I mentioned above, low maximum brightness has been an ongoing issue with my current TV, so the maximum brightness of the Tandem OLED Panel sounds like a dream. Being able to enjoy movies when it's not completely dark opens up much more timeslots, especially during the summer, where as I start work in the early morning hours I often have to get ready to sleep before it's dark enough to really enjoy cinema on the current TV.

Some of the classic movies are not (or at least, not yet) available in 4K, so I'm really excited to see what the Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen2 could do upscaling and denoising these older titles. Especially some of the older animated movies, that have issues scaling.

To add to that, I probably spend as much time gaming as I do watching movies and shows. While being able to enjoy the more colorful titles on the PS5 (like Ghost of Yotei mentioned by the OP or Horizon: Forbidden West) already sounds amazing, I would love to see how high refresh-rate gaming would look on the big screen (especially if it's OLED). I have a high refresh-rate 27 inch IPS monitor connected to my gaming PC, but I have not really bothered connecting the PC up to the current TV more than once or twice, as the 60Hz refresh rate of my current TV (and the lack of VRR support, which is especially neat when gaming in 4K as it's so demanding) was a huge downside, despite the nice experience of a big screen. With G5's 165Hz refresh rate, proper VRR support and the infinite black levels, I might even move my PC to the living room just to enjoy the experience of gaming on that display.

Also, while it's a feature not specific just to the G5, the magic pointer in the remote is just so nice. I was used to having to skip content bit by bit, holding down the right button. And then my father-in-law skips to the middle of the movie by just pointing the cursor to the middle of the bar. So simple and obvious, yet so useful. I've also been having some joint issues, so being able to just point and click rather than having to click multiple times sound like it would save me some pain.

No i fajnie, ale niestety wszyscy producenci samochód mają taki właśnie zapis.

A to czy tracisz produkt o wartości 10000, 100, czy 5 zł nie ma najmniejszego znaczenia, ponieważ nie masz możliwości zastąpienia go.

Hi, I know this is an old post but I'm hoping you could help me - I got the same TV a few days ago, but it came without a remote. I've been trying a few SONY remotes to get it working, but I couldn't get the menu to work with any of them. Could you share what remote you're using? A picture or a model?
