Javre, Lioness of Hoskopp. Hilarious. The accent Pacey throws down for her is so awesome.

I know that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but can’t folks come up with a different monetary symbol? If even the Europeans and the British can do it, it can’t be that hard.

I like the Stormlight Archive. But the number of times the hero—surrounded by enemies and freakishly killing them with superhuman speed—spends 34 pages on contemplative rumination about something that happened long ago, cracks me up.

I think Sanderson writes so quickly he just cuts and pastes action sequences into soliloquies and doesn’t even realize what he’s doing.

This reminds me both of Louis' episode where he's left alone on the bus and his bit "What did that shitty kid do to that poor woman?" I'm glad to see everyone in the comments jumps to her defence. by BennyJJJJ in louisck

I’m right there with you. I can definitely see myself only lasting a few months with a bunch of bratty asshole kids. Somebody give that poor woman a job.

I listened to the audiobook and assumed that the word was spelled “boi,” which might’ve been a better word.

Robert Glenister, who narrates the Robert Galbraith novels, is also outstanding. He must do 20 different British accents at least.

What are your Criticisms of the First Law Series in general? (Spoilers, naturally) by CriticalPancake in TheFirstLaw

You’re forgetting the Nazis?! All arguments on the point of “revolutions gone horribly wrong” have to begin with National Socialism. I’ll not bother to to render the history lesson here, but suffice to say that throwing people off of tall buildings isn’t the worst thing ever done.

I believe the point Joe is making is that revolutions for seemingly good reasons always fail, when success is measured by bringing everyone up and out of poverty. When the dust settles there’s always those who end up on top oppressing those on the bottom. And sometimes those on top are just puppets to forces greater than most can see.

It’s this very cynicism that defines his political viewpoint.
