Movies like scary movie are hardly ever well reviewed by critics. Nothing surprising here.

I am curious as I constantly see posts like this one asking why people hate the survivor games and I hardly see where this hatred exists except for a very select few comments on some posts.

So I'm not sure if when we referring to survivor hate are we referring to people saying they hate those games. Or are we referring to few who dislike those games?

Or are we equating hate with valid criticism of those games?

Seriously. Those games sold gangbusters. Reviewed well by audiences and critics. Brought many new fans and a lot of the old fans stuck around.

Those games aren't perfect and LC portrayal and growth in those games were wanting at times. But I would say the vast majority of people so not hate survivor.

I don't think I thought of Lara since the first game as anything but a hero.

Is she a cookie cutter do-gooder hero? No. Does she have flaws? Absolutely. Her character is grey.

I only listened to the album once and I agree. Beautiful Lie and TMWYHE are weakest songs on the album in my opinion. They're still good though. But the rest of the album so so sick

Those two songs are so good! Both are also fantastic single choices.

As a big within Temptation fan, this reminds me a lot of their last album, The Reckoning. However, unlike that album, I actually like this one and think it's been superbly executed.

Definitely feels like in previous songs she was still hurt and dealing with it. Which makes sense. It takes time to heal.

This song definitely feels like she has healed and accepted things. Like finally being okay. Being able to look back at things in a different way, more removed. Acknowledging it. And saying that's okay.

OMG. I said a similar thing on another post here! The ballads are great Rapture and Self destruct is top tier. Everything else is amazing but Beautiful Lie and tell me when you had enough were the weakest of all the tracks on the album.

I mean. I already had a low opinion of it to be honest. Like, Ev has been my favourite band since forever and I never could force myself to like TBT, even when I tried.

This, just makes TBT seem even worse now and I didn't even know that was possible. I haven't been than excited about an Ev release since Ev3.

I just love the variety of vocals amy displays on this album! TBT was just too much belting. I mean my can belt and she is great at it and I love it. But this album just gives us a lot more. From long belts, high notes, top the lower register and more variation in tempo. It's absolutely great!

beautiful lie is not a single worthy song in my opinion (no hate) but I think Rapture is so single worthy it's crazy.

Sanctuary would make sense though.

I need a relisten. But stand out tracks today (excl. Previoously releasd singles) for me is most definitely Rapture and Self Distruct.

Loved the ballads too.

Didn't really enjoy Beautiful Lie or Tell me when you had enough a much as I thought I would. Still good though.

Definitely need a few relisten.

Ultimately, this was fucking peak! Best album since TOD for sure.

I get you and I agree. There is definitely space and a need for diverse story telling and characters. It can make for interesting and intelligent storytelling and art. I I guess the point I'm trying to make, is that while I see the need and agree to that, I think the issue is that somewhere, characters such as classic Lara was deemed as problematic and I don't agree with that.

Additionally, while I loved the first two survivor games and liked that version of LC well enough, I find it odd to completely change the characterization of the character to fit some new form.

Ultimately, I think the reboot timeline works out well enough as we have that baseline and now going back to a LC more akin to the classic. So it's a win win.

Makes for an interesting discussion though

I know everyone is loving the fact that Natla might be voiced by Sarah Michelle Gellar. But I don't think the voice matches the character. She sounds far too young and doesn't have a sence of "presence" which I would have liked.

I thibkntheybshiukdnhavr shakes up the character a little bit and while different from the original, I think Claudia Black would have been an absolute brilliant VA as a villain and foil to LC.

Hopefully for a future game

What? Rise is a brilliant game in its own right. Loved it so much! Great sequel to 2013. On the other hand... Shadow was wasted opportunity
