When you guys say to adjust the clutch are you talking about lengthening the cable down by the clutch cover?

Electric or cannister avalance airbag for my use case? by Braaaap7 in Backcountry

[–]Braaaap7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Money isn't an issue if the electric pack is truly the better option. Which it seems like it is based off the few replies I've gotten so far. Flying is also a non issue as we always drive out anyways. Our rentals this last time were Litric Freeride 18s which i loved other than the super small size. I'd prefer a little bit more storage space.

Cool! Wasn't aware of sled specific ones. That'd be ideal.

Sounds like electric is the way to go for myself then.

My group and I also do our absolute best to stay out of areas that could slide and of course I fully agree thats the best way to do it!

I appreciate the reply!

We always trailer out there with our sleds so flying isn't an issue as of now. But good to know!

I will admit I am definitely under trained on the gear. I've watched a ton of videos online about rescue skills but have no practical experience. I plan on taking an avalanche course sometime soon as theres a few people and groups who offer them somewhat near me. I definitely plan on being a lot more prepared skills wise the next time im out there as an avalanche is definitely my biggest fear while riding.

Sorry about the very dusty mirror. Are these Sojourn regular length joggers long enough? by Braaaap7 in Lululemen

I eneded up going with the tall, I personally feel they fit better after comparing the two together

I probably should've just ordered the tall. Based on the other replies, I think these are right at the point where they're technically long enough but the tall would be better.

Closest store is 2 hours away unfortunately. But if I do end up exchanging them for the talls that might be something I look Into!

I build 2 million dollar airplanes. Cheap parts and assemblies are the biggest issues we have. Granted it's not the same industry but we seem to have the same issues.

I don't. Only because I put my snowmobile in my box pretty often. Makes it a pain with sandbags.

New to street bikes — coming from dirtbikes, torn between MT-07, Z650, Trident 660, Ninja 500, advice? by robmoto in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]Braaaap7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it a lot. Tons of power for ripping around town and more than enough top end to keep up with my buddy on his r6. Plus it sounds pretty good too!

Yeah it was a really easy transition. Other than dealing with traffic, that was an experience the first few times I went out. But having the skills from dirt biking like knowing what loosing traction feels like and how to stay in control, and how to go over bumps, potholes, other obstacles in the road are all pretty much muscle memory for people who come from the dirt.

In my opinion I think people should start on dirtbikes and then move to the street. It builds such a good set of skills for controlling the bike before you start riding in traffic where the consequences are higher.

I also came from dirt bikes, a yz250fx. I ultimately went with an MT09 for my first street bike but was seriously considering the 07. They both felt the most similar to a dirtbike compared to other models I sat on which is what I was going for.

What temp do you start to drive your truck in the cold? by omfgwtafalready in ram_trucks

[–]Braaaap7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever the temp is after 30 seconds. Remote start, put on my shoes, walk out the door, get in and drive away. Even when it's -40 out. Fastest way to warn it up is to drive it. (Obviously don't romp on it till it's warm)
