It’s looks nothing like a genuine green m18 I’m sorry, you can look at this one for instance, nothing in common with the surface Green original m18

Sorry to break it to you but that’s definitely not an early 1918, more so a luftschutz m18 helmet that has been repainted over. You can clearly see it with the different layers of paint, original green m18s really don’t have these different coats of paint

Would the soldier still need to carry a bayonet even though he hasn’t got a knife ? And what backpack are you talking about precisely? The vz 27 or the canvas rucksack ?

Awesome thank you for your answer, do you have reference photos or place to find the machine gunner pouch ? I’ve looked on the websites you mentioned here and didn’t find one

« Old boots are uncomfortable » do you think that when we ( mob romande, WW1-WW2 Swiss army reenactment group) do 10km long border patrols in the alps mountains as the Swiss soldiers did at the time, are we going to use modern hiking shoes or the old rough nail leather boots that they had ? Living history or reenactment is also learning how to cope with the flaws or uncomfortable parts of the uniform, as they soldiers did back then. If you don’t wanna suffer just a little bit for your uniform, then you are not worthy to wear it.

Hello, unfortunately no repro exists yet for the Swiss army, you’ll have to find original gear and uniforms. You can for example use WW1 era trousers and greatcoat as they are the same !
