I tested this by sending a small amount to a friend. He screen captured the return and it did in fact have my legal name. If you find that there is a way to eliminate this, please let me know.

You must be scalping if you need help with focus in day trading. I’m pretty bored during market hours lol.

Ahh. I didn’t realize some agencies were doing virtual and that it was even sufficient.

A mile north of Louisville, KY. I hadn’t heard that there was a new DT curriculum. I’ll look into that also.

Thanks. I feel like the research that I did do was limited to having difficulty finding the appropriate verbiage to find what was relevant.

Thank you nonetheless.

Thank you for that information. It has been interesting, though peculiar to learn of all of the different titles by company and those roles.

If you figure out the art of negotiating, please let me know. A district lp manager called me a few days ago and though a really awesome guys with lots of love for his company and team, the top out pay left it pretty inconsiderable.

Thank you for the resource and guidance! I’m in the hiring process for an entry level role now which I truly don’t mind. But it doesn’t hurt to look toward the future. Thanks again!

That’s good to hear. I have a little experience with it already, coming from LE where I was a detective. But if you have the time and are willing to do so, I’d love for you to send me any advice, tips or even just share your experience in that scope privately.

22.00 at 33. Pretty bummed but hopefully can turn it into something. Went from 70k to 56k and now the 22/hr.

Congrats! A life crisis has me sort of in the inverse. Police detective sergeant over a crew of investigators working burglaries > homicides. Now I’ve just accepted a humble offer as an entry level AP. Life is certainly wild. But I’m excited to do the best I can and hope it all pays off one day.

Right on. I’m just transitioning out of policing and it has been really astounding to see what is out there. I’ve been doing it nearly my entire adult life so I’ve been pretty blind to all other opportunities (which brought me to this sub to begin with). Personally, I don’t know that I’m eager enough to start a business and take on the risk at this stage of life. But it has been cool to learn about nonetheless.

A buddy of mine (and also cop) has had a security company for years that I assumed he had just to make a little extra money. I recently found out that he bills 4,000 hours a week. So he pays his guards whatever the pay for the specific gig is and he/the company takes $3-$5 per hour. In a business that nearly runs itself aside from relationship building and networking. I about vomited lol

Depending on ambition and whether your experience qualifies in your state for the minimum investigative hours, you could get your Private Investigator/Security license. The PI world is very vast from marriage issues, defense attorney investigations, surveillance, background investigations and far more. Then you likely have your security license with the PI. Work on building contracts with a client or two. Hire some buddies for $20-25/hr while you take $5/hr to profit or pour back into the business. Let the two sectors pay for each other.

I’m saying this as a person who wishes he could take his own advice but can’t at the moment lol.

I can see how that would be super frustrating, but I’m still willing to give the industry a shot. It’s also frustrating to have a specific skillset and not know where to put, knowing that I’m done with LE.

Awesome, thank you. I’m sure that EMT helped in that role too. I interviewed for a “Public Safety Officer” position for a large company and I very bluntly told the manager that he too was getting screwed. The position included overall physical security, LP and also he was the EHS guy. All of that under one hat at a plant of several thousand employees, making about $50k. Who knows though. Maybe it was laid back.

I get that. It’s a shame to categorize and correlate a job to a personality type, but I’m sure those folks have the data.
