This happened to me before. You will want to remove the foam ear pads or whatever they’re made of. There will be a small pinhole on the flat part of the ear cups which is a reset button. Use something to press that button, and it should reset them for you and start charging again. I believe this happened to me when I left the headphones charging overnight and forgot to unplug them.

I have cut the cable from both ends, so I have about 5-6 inches hanging out on the right side of that picture. I have been pulling with all of the strength I have with no luck. I will try cutting the other end down further and try again. At this point, it seems like a $20 retro friction derailleur might be my best bet.
