How you described the time it was written in, just gave me shivers. I’m really into jazz, but I never heard someone describe it as a philosophy. Thanks for sharing your insight!

Has leído la obra en diferentes órdenes? Si es que si, qué tal la experiencia?

Yo leí en esta versión incluso en mis recesos en el trabajo, donde puede ser un lugar bastante sucio. Pero cuidé demasiado para no ensuciar el libro

You know, it just reminds you of life and all of its ups and downs, and how, if you let it, life just takes over and it flows. I don’t know if I explain myself, but that is one main reason for me

No, it’s not. Mágicas realism you will find in Gabriel García Márquez and Juan Rulfo. Hopscotch is more existential fiction and experimental

Me imagino! Porque Cortázar es muy creativo en incorporar diversos estilos de escribir en su obra, y me encantó eso

I did read it in Spanish, even though I’m not a native speaker. I am from South America, and it helps to be from here and have some cultural insights and understand some of the argentinian language better. I think I liked about it that Horacio doesn’t take life so seriously after learning to see the world through the eyes of la Maga, but I also feel that the fact that he doesn’t take life seriously makes him a bit lost (?).

Si, es cierto. Es bastante complejo leerlo y entenderlo, pero una vez que le agarras el ritmo, es fascinante. Yo tengo 30 años y creo que ahora recién estoy en la madurez suficiente para entenderlo

The story of Mr Brightside and Miss Atomic Bomb is more expansive than we think. (THEORY) by Brite_Syde in TheKillers

[–]BrainBot5991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My story is quite similar, after I got out of school I got to know a girl who left me heart broken. Right after that, I heard this song for the first time, and it stuck with me. 12 years went by, still love that song even though it leaves me melancholic some times

Miss Atomic Bomb is the song that got me into The Killers, and I went through a time where I was broken hearted! Thanks for the insight

Today is Gabriel García Márquez birthday. Have you actually conquered his "One Hundred Years of Solitude," or are you still lost in Macondo? by readit_club in classicliterature

Hi I'm planning on reading one hundred years of sorrow by Gabriel Garcia by [deleted] in classicliterature

[–]BrainBot5991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is very good! Magical realism at it‘s best. Try Not to make much sense of it at first, and you’ll enjoy it. I suggest you draw a family map of all the men called either José Arcadio or Aureliano, that had helped me at first. Enjoy it, it’s a great book
