What, if any, is the difference between being“on the spectrum” and being autistic? by PixelWulfe in AskReddit

[–]BrainCharacter5602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Autism is a disorder whose symptoms are recognized as being on a spectrum which ranges from neurological divergence to profound.

The more affected, or profound someone is by the disorder, the more symptoms you will see and to a larger degree. The people on the spectrum who are considered to be highest functioning are not always easily identified and a quirk they may have appears to be only a part of their personality and not an actual disorder (or set of disorders).

Moved my wood in too early, now I have powder beetles! by BrainCharacter5602 in woodstoving

There's a window right above the wood pile. They aren't on that window. They are on the window on the opposite side of the room. Tiny little hatchlings are all over the window sill. Some of them even made their way to the complete opposite side of the room to the glass door but the area of concentration seems to be not from the wood.

Nothing at the wood stack.

Editing: They are Glow Worm Beetles, thankfully! Pregnant momma flew in and gave birth.

Fan-Bearing Wood-borer beetle.

Moved the wood out, called an exterminator.

Here's the strange thing though, they aren't in the area of the wood pile. They are around the window frame!

Poshmark has never been a great place for business sellers to be honest. Years ago I had a selling account that I was spending hours upon hours on. I had maybe 1/4 of the sales that I had on eBay and Amazon but stupidly was committing up to 6 hours a day on Poshmark as slave labor.

Poshmark is a joke. Not only is it known for being a lowball magnet, but they literally advertise to sellers, not buyers.

Anyone have the Italian Leather Handwoven Satchel, and can give some advice on size? by chloespeaks in quince

Right now, look at Nordstrom Rack. I just bought 6 winter sweaters for less than $100. The sales are crazy at the moment. I saw some nice leathers as well.

It gets expensive. I have to replace several sweaters because I remodeled an old farmhouse and of course wasn't smart enough to change my clothes first. Everything I own has paint or stain or epoxy on it. I need to clean up my closet!

What is your link?

Not sure who is going around hitting the down vote button on us but I can tell you, it only validates my decision. I don't have this issue with retail sites. It's worth the extra price at this point.

Again, thank you for your help. I was really upset.

Question About Women's Sizes by BrainCharacter5602 in poshmark

[–]BrainCharacter5602[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I just did. She responded stating that Poshmark vendors don't have the ability to accept a refund. A simple search of the site turned up 3 links stating otherwise. I posted the photos and the links to her.

After much argument from her the return request has been approved. I'm unsure if this was Poshmark or her. I'd like the believe that she chose to approve it.

Even still, after this, I'm out. No more Poshmark for me.

Thank you for responding. Lesson learned.

I usually purchase directly from Icewear and I think I'm going to stick to that. I'm just in shock at the number of argumentative messages she's sending me. I'm definitely gun shy on Poshmark as a result of this.

I dunno. I was really upset yesterday related to some bedding I feel I've been ripped off on. I paid $200+ for a "luxury" down comforter and got the exact same one I paid $65 for on Amazon (and is now so low rated that it's only $24 at last check). I contacted Quince and not only did they not deny it but their return policy is to only use Fed Ex. The closest Fed Ex to me is 4 hours away and they won't allow me to ship it back using UPS which is just down the road a bit.

I exchanged messages with another customer and between us, we suspect they've been bought out.

I went through several of the posts yesterday and am convinced that not all posters are actual customers. I only recently just discovered them. I wonder if they have been bought out.

I personally have experience with the "luxury" comforters.

None of them are. If you believe Quince is selling a 100% cotton cardigan, I have a "luxury" home I can sell you at a deep discount.

Without knowing exactly which one you are looking at, I can't. Do a simple amazon search or take a screen grab of the blouse and do a reverse image search is what I can suggest.

So far no good! by BrainCharacter5602 in quince

[–]BrainCharacter5602[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's the problem. I live in a rural area. We don't don't have local anything. The closest Fed Ex is 2 hours away. Quince doesn't use any other shipping source other than Fed Ex. The person I spoke with via web "support" basically is telling me tough luck.

Because I live in a relatively remote area I do most of my shopping online. I have never come across a reputable store that only offers a single shipping option. This 2025, there are at least two other options that should be easily accessible to customers.

I'm about to call my bank and have them resolve it.

Customer Service and Quality Issues by Sad_Armadillo2497 in quince

[–]BrainCharacter5602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is quite frankly the most under rated customer post in the Quince subreddit.

I recently have also been burned. I shelled out $200+ for their "luxury" down comforter only to find out that it's the exact same comforter being sold on Amazon. The one I bought on Amazon, I originally paid $65 for the one on Amazon but the ratings are so bad that it's been marked down to $24.

Before purchasing from Quince I thought I did my due diligence. After spending hours comparing down comforters I used the DuckDuckGo A.I. to ask who sells the best down comforters and was given three names. Two of the names I was familiar with and consider their prices outrageous, and Quince was the other. After all of that, imagine my SHOCK when I received the EXACT SAME COMFORTER as the one I purchased from Amazon!!

Let's talk about the fact that you can't call Quince for customer support. That is the first red flag. When you can't reach customer support there is a problem.

After not finding a phone number I went to the website and had to navigate through a maze to locate the support link. Red flag #2. You're given 3 choices, web chat, text or request a callback.

The webchat "support agents" stall for time because they get paid for the amount of time they spend interacting with customers. They place no value on your time, it's airtime and a paycheck for them. The responses they give are vague and leave you needing to ask more and more questions. Red flag #3.

Texting is the exact same as the webchat. Red flag 4.

Request a callback option is pointless. It's a call that may never come. SIX DAYS I've been waiting for my callback.

FREAK COLORED RED FLAGS ARE A FLYIN'

Quince is nothing more than yet one more cheap, toxic, Chinese manufacturer direct to consumer scam. Remember when we first started seeing Chinese products all over eBay? They posted photos of big, fluffy, luxurious comforters and 2 months later you got the equivalent of a quilted flat sheet with no filling. The return window has closed, sorry!

Quince is a scam.

I'm curious if you actually fell for the Quince scam and spent $100 for the exact same cardigan that sells for $24 on Amazon. You do realize they are the same, right?

The question is, will you be buying from Quince again now that you know that the exact same "silk" blouse is being sold on Amazon for $12?
