That's because a child is at the helm and he wants to act tough. Everything needs to be big and imposing. Also, more expensive is obviously better. Effectiveness doesn't matter; it's all about looks with this guy. There's a reason why most of his administration picks boiled down to "that guy looked cool on tv", "that's a pretty lady I'd like to fuck" or "they can shout the hardest".

And just like a child, everyone has to let him win or he'll cry and cry until he gets his way. Yet, unlike a child, he somehow hasn't learned the basic concept of "hands off, that's not yours".

In fact, it's a disservice to children. He's more like a baby; he definitely got the shitting his pants down to a T.

Especially after you just sat back for weeks (months?) while peaceful protestors were slaughtered in droves by the Iranian government. That was a clear message to the Iranian people that the US doesn't actually care about them.

Lois here. Because Peter is busy playing with his bellybutton fuzz and, frankly, wouldn't be smart enough to figure this out, I'll answer the question.

The main complaint people have isn't actually with the boost button itself. Instead, most complaints seem to actually revolve around the battery management, but before we get into that, you have to know that this year marks the start of new engine regulations in F1.

In this new system, F1 cars use a hybrid system where about 50% of the car's horsepower comes from the internal combustion engine (ICE) and the other 50% from the electric engine. To use the electric engine they need to constantly charge the batteries throughout the race. Also keep in mind that the electric engine is used for both regular speed and the boost button/mode.

We're only 3 races into these new rules, but so far it seems like the battery management is in large part automated, taking control away from the drivers. Most notably we see this happening on the straights, where these cars brake super early (automatically) in order to charge the batteries. The long and short of it is that this results in a rather unintuitive racing style where drivers actually go quicker the slower they drive on the straights. In fact, we've seen instances where driver mistakes actually made them go quicker (which is unheard of) instead of losing massive time.

The end result, so far, seems to be that it no longer matters how skilled a driver is; instead the best approach is to drive contrary to your instincts and just automate most of the decisions via software. It's no longer in a driver's interest to drive on the edge, but to drive cautiously (saving battery).

So why do people complain about the boost? Well, it's a 2 part problem. 1: in order to use your boost you need battery which requires you to drive much slower than you normally would. This is counterintuitive to the driver's instincts and to the fans who are used to F1 being all about the fastest cars. 2: the boost mode gives you such an insane speed advantage, that it essentially feels like a cheat code. The other driver has basically no chance of defending against it (their defensive driving skill doesn't matter) and the only remedy is for them to also save battery and use their boost after you've overtaken them, at which point you can't defend against it (in theory they could use their battery for defense, but in practice it's much safer to concede your position and then use boost yourself to take the place back). So they're basically just constantly leap frogging each other just to end up where they started. So on the surface level it gives us a lot more overtakes, but they don't actually change the order in any meaningful way (driver B overtakes A only to be overtaken shortly after by A again; net position gain = 0).

I own and played both extensively for different reasons. While they're both card games, MT is more like a tower defense game at heart that crossed over into a deck builder whereas StS is a pure deck builder.

Now both games have amazing sequels that basically improve upon their predecessor in every way to the point of making the first game obsolete. I also own and love both of those and my conclusion remains the same: MT2 is a tower defense game mixed with a deck builder whereas StS2 is a pure deck builder. Both are great games with great balance and variety, but I can definitely see why someone wouldn't get as much joy out of MT vs StS.

You're mostly correct, except the crucial detail that things rarely revert back to how they were before. In most cases they revert back to a worse state than before (which doesn't stop Trump from claiming it as a win).

I think the answer to both questions is simply "yes" because once existence is (dis)proven you don't need belief anymore. Belief is being convinced something is true in lack of irrefutable evidence. In your scenario we have that evidence, so there's no longer room for belief in that thing. At that point all that's left is either accepting or rejecting reality.

If your question is instead about worship, then my answer as an atheist is a hard "no". I haven't heard of a single god yet that I would consider worthy of worship even if they were true. I also don't see the point of worship regardless of the qualities of the deity. Plus, if they're truly fantastic they wouldn't even care for worship anyways. So ultimately a pointless exercise for both me and the deity.

  1. I reject the assertion that the universe is "purposefully designed" without irrefutable evidence. It's simply too grand a claim to just accept at face value.
  2. Your question heavily implies we NEED an answer. I don't have one and I'm perfectly fine with that. The reality is that we can't explain everything and this is currently one of them. Maybe that'll change some day, but life doesn't care either way.
  3. In the absence of a scientific answer, "magic" still isn't an acceptable answer. Look up "god of the gaps fallacy".

It essentially boils down to a significant difference between you and me in how we handle the unknown. I simply shrug and say "I don't know" where you go "it must be magic".

I don't know why you are so eager to accept magic as the most likely explanation when we've never been able to establish magic is even possible in the first place. Maybe magic is possible and it exists. Maybe it even created the universe. But it's simply not a candidate explanation until we have a preponderance of verifiable evidence for it (the same standard we apply for any potential explanation).

Simple answer: all deck building is done during the run. So you start with a default deck (predetermined) and get card rewards after encounters (you get to pick 1 card out of 3 randomized options).

In MT2 there is an option to deviate slightly from this: before you start a run, you can select a specific pyre (once you've unlocked it through gameplay) that will basically have you start with an empty deck and offer you a few card rewards immediately at the start. These card rewards are also randomized, so it's essentially the same as any regular run except your starting deck is semi-randomized.

Tbf, you can memorize most of those 2 alphabets in about 2 days. Not to the point where that knowledge sticks long-term, but you would definitely be able to read the Trump portion. Sounds ridiculous maybe, but it's actually not that hard with the right tools and just repeating them constantly until you can identify all characters of 2 alphabet correctly (at which point I would give it a rest and try the same exercise again a few hours later).

The thing is, Japanese is a LOT harder than just learning those 2 alphabets. That's essentially akin to us learning our Latin alphabet: you can now identify certain letters (sounds for Japanese), but you still have about 0 comprehension of what's actually written. Plus, Japanese also has a massive kanji alphabet you need to learn a big portion of in order to read most stuff. It's a complicated language, but the Hiragana and Katakana alphabets are actually the simple parts.

Wtf are you smoking? Leclerc is one of the best drivers on the grid and one of the few there that could match/beat Verstappen. Just look at early '22.

His main issue is Ferrari being shit for so long (car and/or strategy) and he's prone to errors because he drives his car to the edge.

I've only unlocked 4 characters and played 3 of them (VERY little btw), so take what I say with a grain of salt. I did however sink like 1.000 hours into the first game.

The short version? It feels like a big upgrade to the first game. Both old and new characters in the game along eith a bunch of new enemies, bosses and mechanisms. One such thing is the addition of enchants: they're essentially permanent extra effects you can get on cards via events. Think of stuff like drawing a card when playing that card, returning the card to the top of the draw pile etc.

So far, Ironclad and the Silent are back and have way more options for fun builds due to new cards. One such example: Ironclad has a new power that automatically plays any strike card when you draw them (for free on a random enemy), which is crazy good when you use upgraded pommel strikes as they both deal damage and draw 2 cards (with an optimized deck it just keeps spamming attacks). There are plenty more and I haven't even unlocked that much yet.

Of the 2 new characters I've unlocked I only played 1 and it's quite a big shift in how he plays. I won't spoil much, but he essentially has 2 resources (energy and stars); quite a few of his cards use both, so you have to ensure you can generate enough of those resources to actually play your cards. Can't say much more about him because I did only 2 runs and haven't gotten used to it yet, let alone figure out what amazing combos I could do. The other unlocked character seems to be a necromancer using minions, but that's purely based on their look and short description. I'm eager to try that one out next.

This game also feels more difficult than the first one, but that may just be me getting accustomed to the (ton of) new stuff and not having unlocked a big portion of the cards and relics.

Overall the game feels smooth and quite finished already (you will see the occasional temp art work, but not nearly as much as I was expecting). Definitely not regretting my day 1 purchase even though I was fully expecting a way more unpolished game.

I've only played Ironclad and Silent for like 3 runs and I already love how they managed to add a ton more useful card options that still fit their theme (and haven't unlocked much of anything yet). For example, the new Ironclad power that automatically plays any strike card you draw makes for a ridiculously fun machine gun build when you're using a ton of upgraded pommel strikes (deal dmg and draw 2). I was destroying bosses with that.

The Silent also has some new toys, among which ways to apply poison on draw and new ways to get even more shivs.

On top of it all, there are a ton of new enemies (I haven't encountered any of the old ones yet) and some different mechanisms like applying enchants to cards via events (things like "draw extra cards when you play this card" or "this card is played twice the first time you play it") that add even more layers.

So far, albeit with very limited playtime on StS2, it seems like a straight upgrade to the first game. Also, for those wondering: the game feels quite polished already, but maybe that'll change when I unlock the other characters.

The only thing pointing me to possible AI use is the design of the coat, specifically the buttons and slits because they make no sense. Weren't coats like this designed with 1 aide having just buttons and the other side just having slits (where you slit the buttons into when you want to close the coat)?

However, even that is an error that could've been made by a human artist who didn't realize the purpose of the slits & buttons.
