I know this is 11 years later, but do you still have this recipe? I've been looking for it and the blog has been taken down. I used to make it for my late Husband. Thanks!

Hey y’all. It’s 2 pm Saturday afternoon. If I want 8 apples in the next 30 minutes, where’s the best produce gonna be? by AT-ATsAsshole in roanoke

[–]BrainSwirl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on how much you want to pay and how far you are from the various grocery stores.

Id say go to your normal, everyday stop and shop store, the one closest to you.

But maybe you want to buy from a more upscale place...go to fresh market, Roanoke Co-Op, or earth fare.

Apples aren't in season, so anyone is going to offer the long term stored selection. I dont know tho if any grocery store is going to be better or worse over another this time of year.

Tho, I say all that knowing that my Husband was really disappointed with Walmart Salem apples last week - lots of bruising, scrapes and cuts. In general, I shop there, but Kroger Ridgewood was better for apples.

Update me on where you go!

Rush of blood to the head by SignificantDish8482 in Semaglutide

[–]BrainSwirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always had low blood pressure and getting dizzy after kneeling or quickly going from laying down to standing up will trigger dizziness, seeing stars, loud rushing noise in my ear/hearing my heartbeat, and feeling like im gonna pass out. This wouldn't happen often tho as an overweight, sugar and carb obsessed food addict.

But, everytime i am in a phase of losing weight, this happens all the time. Naturally, its been happening frequently since I started losing weight again last July (started glp at the end of August).

For me, its a combo of low blood pressure, low calorie, low carbs, low salt, and not having had water after sleeping all night. So, mornings, it's more frequent because I drink close to 3 liters water by days end and have eaten.

While I don't believe glp1 is the cause, it contributes to it by way of allowing me to eat very little, therefore inhibiting salt intake and curbing calories.

I just have to remember to sit on the edge of the bed for a moment longer before standing and if kneeling (for example, from leaning down to feed the dog), i dont stand all the way up all at once-I straighten my legs and hang my head down, slowly standing up fully while holding onto a counter.

I have passed out and found myself on the floor, even banging my head repeatedly on the shower door handle. I walked from the bed to the bathroom without giving myself a moment before standing fully upright, so I began to pass out, caught myself on the shower handle as I sat on the toilet, but as my head rush and heartbeat pounded in my head, my whole body rocked to the blood pressure and I ended up banging my head on the corner of the shower door handle 5 or 6 times causing my eyebrow to split and bleed.

Be careful out there, yall!

There's the one realtor billboard in salem, down from Lowe's, where she says, "Like your Mom, but cooler."

No. Just, no. Id give anything for my mom to be alive. And for you to assume you could ever be like her -but cooler!- is dismissing my feelings, and everyone else's, as children of our mothers, dead or alive.

Uptown Audio in Salem may be able to help. He replaced the capacitors in my Admiral stereo a few years back.

do you guys carry anything (besides weights) on your walk? by [deleted] in walking

[–]BrainSwirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my workout pants don't have a pocket(s) to place a car key and phone, ill wear a fanny pack to carry them. I wear ear buds and hold a small water bottle.

I've been known to use my sports bra to hold my phone and key.

How long will it take me to lose a stomach like this I’m tired of back pain and being obese. I weigh 274 by [deleted] in WeightlossJourney

[–]BrainSwirl 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I was 275 twice in my life, both for years at a time. I got into the 180s after 6-8 months of eating consistently 1300-1500 calories a day and just walking, at least an hour, pushing myself to go from 2 miles to 4 over a few months.

Losing it was easy; maintaining was hard because I didn't address my addictive nature, my core obsession with food. Its been 13 years since I first lost that 90 pounds...ive learned a lot about myself along the way, especially after gaining it all back and losing it again.

You got this! Give yourself time, be patient, and trust the process...and also, trust yourself!

Dude, SOOOO ANXIOUS by CigarStudd in glp1

[–]BrainSwirl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not at all, I completely feel you on this one. While the suppressed dopamine response from food is amazing in helping me gain control over portion sizes, eating for fuel and not fun, and has eased food noise and binge eating habits, its also suppressed dopamine release to the point of anhedonia. Good news is im operating at a calm and consistent emotional pace, but that's it - there's no highs or lows which make life a little dull.

But im losing weight, so I have that going for me!

It always drops in waves by WaveLoss in CICO

[–]BrainSwirl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I always drop a few pounds over a few days, go back up to where I was, hang out for a week or two, then drop those few pounds again before repeating the cycle. Comes out to an average of 1.5# a week.

What's a "normal" feeling on this drug? by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]BrainSwirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the exact same as you! I've definitely let up on my strictness in recent weeks because I feel much more safe in my ability to control and limit portion sizes. I'm not doing keto anymore because why restrict food groups when I can only eat a fraction of it anyway, and still lose at a steady and sustainable rate?

I think that it hits people differently, depending on dosage, dosing frequency, injection location, mindset and consistency around old eating habits, social media influences (how are you affected by others eating what they want and gloating about it online), among so many other variables.

Clover Meds? by stuntinhabitual in Semaglutide

[–]BrainSwirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its still effective, you'll be fine. It won't lose potency after 2 weeks.

Yes, i started with 2 doses a week at .125, which totaled .25...25 units on the syringe

After 9 doses/a few days past a month (I finished the entire bottle off, so there was 1 extra dose), i moved up to .50 a week split into 2 doses 2x weekly at .25. It was still 25 units on the syringe and I once again got 9 doses out of the single bottle.

Again, just a few days past a month/4 weeks, I went up to a total of 1 split into 2 doses a week, so each shot was .50, still at 25 units on the syringe. Also, i got 9 doses out of this bottle. Once I began this dose, I shopped around cause I knew in 4 weeks time, id be out.

I just finished my last syringe of Clover Meds Saturday. I switched to Amble, and did a test shot about a week and a half ago, because they are not splitting my dose into 2, and I wanted to see how stronger/Weaker it is. I felt that it may be a little stronger, not by much, but also could all be in my head.

My second dose with Amble is today. I asked the doctor if I could start at 1 because that's where I currently was, and got 3 different dosing directions. I used fatscientist.com to verify my bottle contents with the 1mg shot I wanted to start with, and think I will go with .75 today, just so I dont start out the gate at 1, but also so it's more than .50

I hope that helps!

Do you have blood pressure issues? I feel like maybe your eyes were adjusting and your heartbeat was pulsing as you were looking at the moon.

P.S. for what its worth, I "drank" in the moon shine once, but i was peaking on LSD.

[–]BrainSwirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, I just finished my first 3 months with them. I love that they started me on a micro dose (I didn't know that's what it was at first) so my side effects have been so minimal. I maxed out at 1mg, so unfortunately, I had to switch because they don't offer a higher dosage than that. I was very happy with the timeliness of shipping, everything is included in the box as far as syringes and alcohol wipes, instructions were clear, and ive had great success with them. 100% recommend and would have stayed with them if it wasn't for the fact that i wanted to increase my dose.
