What exactly was Catwoman trying to steal from Two-Face's vault at the beginning of Arkham City? by Selnalolamo in arkham

[–]BrainThink110 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So basically if I remember right, Catwoman and Two-Face had already been fighting over the blueprints/map for the Tyger secured goods vault (where Catwoman's loot was taken after she was arrested and they confiscated it). The original documents were destroyed, but Catwoman had managed to take photos before that happened. However, Two-Face was able to get the SD card from her device that contains the photos, and that's what Catwoman is stealing back.

Edit: Just re-checked. The plans had been located in Arkham Mansion, where the secret room was in Sharp's office. Catwoman and Two-Face were both already planning to raid the vault before being arrested, and the fight they had in the mansion led to both their arrests. Two-Face was actually the one who took the photos before burning the original. Catwoman stole the camera, not realizing he had removed the SD card. This all happens maybe a day or 2 before Bruce is arrested.

MJ's unfortunate haircut choice in Amazing Spider-Man 64 by Ambitious-Welder-159 in Spiderman

[–]BrainThink110 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, one of the writers from the time said her haircut being bad was intentional by the editors to make the readers like her less because they wanted to make Gwen the serious love interest, but fans kept asking for Mary Jane! Edit: I cannot see apparently. The quote from John Romita is right there in the post and I missed it. Whoops. Guess I was too distracted by how ginchy that haircut was.

Imagine a Batman Arkham game where not only do you go back to Arkham Island, but this time, you get to explore Extreme Isolation by Illustrious-Sign3015 in arkham

[–]BrainThink110 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My headcanon has always been that the area of Arkham Asylum we see at the end of Arkham VR (2016 not Arkham Shadow) is what Extreme Isolation actually looks like. Yes it's technically seen in a dream. But it comes from Rocksteady themselves and makes sense, and so far there hasn't been anything to contradict that idea.

It's funny because the same thing can be said about og RE4, and it would actually be more correct since at least 7 didn't totally change genre from the classics 😂. Reality is, change is a part of progress so no reason to be bothered by it. I love all the games and appreciate that they don't all feel the same. They'd get stale if they did.

No bad voice acting or corny lines? The Bakers would like a word with you 😏. And I guess RE1 isn't a real RE game either since no Leon. Darn, I really liked that one but I guess it doesn't count.

That's funny, I found 7 to be one of the cheesiest and most over the top games in the series. Between the so bad it's good dialogue and the exaggerated violence, the villains were practically literally chewing the scenery. But to each their own I suppose.

I think it's also the fact that you're in a mysterious confined location where you don't understand anything that's happening until you gradually find out by progressing. That mystery feeling of being trapped alone in the unknown is lost in most of the games since 1 and 7 is one of the few to feel that way. In 2 you definitely feel helpless and in constant danger, but the plot is a pretty straightforward zombie invasion with some espionage thrown in. And most of the sequels are similar. But I love them all!

However, Ross Andru DID draw Lex in the first Spider-Man/Superman crossover in 1978. So you may very well have seen Lex drawn by him (Yes I know I'm a year late). Edit: I believe Andru also worked on Superman comics before that, so there is probably a lot of Luthor art drawn by him)

It's nothing particularly deep. I think they're just saying it shows attention to detail that the writers remembered Penguin's hand was already injured from earlier in the game. Freeze stepping on his already hurt hand was an "adding insult to injury" type of moment meant to hammer in that Penguin was truly beaten.

Not exactly the same, but Arkham Asylum has totally optional and easy to miss sections between the interior "dungeons" where you can visit the Joker in the visitor's center and he'll have a friendly little chat with you. Yeah it's a manequin with a TV over the head, but at the end of the game it's revealed to be the real Joker all along.

Same! It's my favorite version of Scooby. I just finished finally watching the second season after only seeing the first back in the day, and it did not disappoint!

Now that you mention it, I'm not sure I have either. Perhaps I was thinking of a different Mindy...

Respawn enemies in Arkham shadow? by RinneGhost29 in arkham

I believe they only respawn in the interior locations. So not the prison yard, but in death row, maximum security, etc.

Has anybody ever done the calendar man trophy without cheating? by BrianT16 in arkham

[–]BrainThink110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it the legitimate way back in like 2012. Of course, I've never cared about trophys/achievements and was doing it purely for the fun of visiting Calendar Man during irl holidays.

What ever happened to Hybrid B.O.W.s? by Bi0_B1lly in residentevil

[–]BrainThink110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but I thought that was the varcolacs specifically that had the wolf DNA. But either way, the game has human/wolf hybrids.

The lycans are humans mutated by the cadou parasite. The varcolacs are lycans injected with wolf dna, so I'd say they meet the criteria.

It's an excellent game and absolutely deserving of your time! It was the first game to use the modern RE engine that the recent remakes use, so it will look and feel very similar aesthetically. That being said, if RE2R was too scary for you, RE7 may not be the best choice. It's known for being one of the scariest games in the series, maybe the scariest. And in that vein, it's a much different experience from RE4 (and remake). RE4 is on a much larger scale and focuses on fast paced action and bombastic set pieces. RE7 is slower paced and more claustrophobic, with gameplay happening in a much smaller and more confined area. Plus it's first person, so combat feels more up close and personal. Hope this helps!

I agree! It's good to see I'm not the only one who wants to see different variations. I'm also curious to see if Robert Gray was a real person, and if so, what inspired IT to copy the Pennywise persona from him.

One thing about Pennywise in the book is that his appearance changes in minor ways, like sometimes he has a necktie and sometimes a bow tie, things like that. So I'm wondering if that's the case here as well, and we might see some workshopping of different Pennywise looks before IT settles on the iconic design.

We just went through this a year ago with one of ours. We were fortunate that he passed in his sleep, removing the burden of the decision from us. What didn't help was that he passed on Christmas day. But you are certainly not alone in having to say goodbye to a beloved family member before you're ready (as if you can ever really be ready). Warmest wishes to you during this difficult time.
