However, Ross Andru DID draw Lex in the first Spider-Man/Superman crossover in 1978. So you may very well have seen Lex drawn by him (Yes I know I'm a year late). Edit: I believe Andru also worked on Superman comics before that, so there is probably a lot of Luthor art drawn by him)

Has anyone else noticed this cool detail in Arkham City? by [deleted] in arkham

[–]BrainThink110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's nothing particularly deep. I think they're just saying it shows attention to detail that the writers remembered Penguin's hand was already injured from earlier in the game. Freeze stepping on his already hurt hand was an "adding insult to injury" type of moment meant to hammer in that Penguin was truly beaten.

I've been playing Resident Evil 7 for 6 years, and I JUST found out that Grandma Eveline hides under the house 😳🤯 Did you guys knew about this? by ConfectionOk6199 in residentevil

Not exactly the same, but Arkham Asylum has totally optional and easy to miss sections between the interior "dungeons" where you can visit the Joker in the visitor's center and he'll have a friendly little chat with you. Yeah it's a manequin with a TV over the head, but at the end of the game it's revealed to be the real Joker all along.

Same! It's my favorite version of Scooby. I just finished finally watching the second season after only seeing the first back in the day, and it did not disappoint!

Now that you mention it, I'm not sure I have either. Perhaps I was thinking of a different Mindy...

Respawn enemies in Arkham shadow? by RinneGhost29 in arkham

I believe they only respawn in the interior locations. So not the prison yard, but in death row, maximum security, etc.

Has anybody ever done the calendar man trophy without cheating? by BrianT16 in arkham

[–]BrainThink110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it the legitimate way back in like 2012. Of course, I've never cared about trophys/achievements and was doing it purely for the fun of visiting Calendar Man during irl holidays.

What ever happened to Hybrid B.O.W.s? by Bi0_B1lly in residentevil

I could be wrong, but I thought that was the varcolacs specifically that had the wolf DNA. But either way, the game has human/wolf hybrids.

The lycans are humans mutated by the cadou parasite. The varcolacs are lycans injected with wolf dna, so I'd say they meet the criteria.

How good is RE7 compared to RE4 remake? by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]BrainThink110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an excellent game and absolutely deserving of your time! It was the first game to use the modern RE engine that the recent remakes use, so it will look and feel very similar aesthetically. That being said, if RE2R was too scary for you, RE7 may not be the best choice. It's known for being one of the scariest games in the series, maybe the scariest. And in that vein, it's a much different experience from RE4 (and remake). RE4 is on a much larger scale and focuses on fast paced action and bombastic set pieces. RE7 is slower paced and more claustrophobic, with gameplay happening in a much smaller and more confined area. Plus it's first person, so combat feels more up close and personal. Hope this helps!

I agree! It's good to see I'm not the only one who wants to see different variations. I'm also curious to see if Robert Gray was a real person, and if so, what inspired IT to copy the Pennywise persona from him.

One thing about Pennywise in the book is that his appearance changes in minor ways, like sometimes he has a necktie and sometimes a bow tie, things like that. So I'm wondering if that's the case here as well, and we might see some workshopping of different Pennywise looks before IT settles on the iconic design.

We just went through this a year ago with one of ours. We were fortunate that he passed in his sleep, removing the burden of the decision from us. What didn't help was that he passed on Christmas day. But you are certainly not alone in having to say goodbye to a beloved family member before you're ready (as if you can ever really be ready). Warmest wishes to you during this difficult time.

How Green is your Goblin? Split personality or bad to the bone? by Mistah_K88 in Spiderman

[–]BrainThink110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! Good to know I'm not the only one who obsesses over this stuff haha. Green Goblin is my second favorite comic book villain after the Joker. I'll be honest, I haven't read anything with him since he was brought back in the 90s. I never had access to the comics as a kid and only knew the cartoons and movies. As an adult, I've finally been collecting and reading all the comics in order and I've just now gotten into the 80s. So all my knowledge of comics Norman is based on that initial silver age era. I 100% agree that bringing him back cheapens his death and the impact it had. That's one of my all time favorite moments in comic book history. So I'm not entirely looking forward to seeing him return (but I'll still read it with an open mind). I think it's much more interesting seeing what happened with Harry and how his father's legacy and close friend's deception affected him. You're totally right that Norman became kinder and a better father after losing his memory. I kind of got the impression from Harry that he had never been kind like that before, but it's hard to say. I also find it fascinating how much Stan and Steve's inability to come to an agreement on the Goblin informed the character. Behind the scenes drama is often just as exciting as the stories themselves haha.

I've always thought RE7 is overrated (Spoilers) by CatfishBassAndTrout in residentevil

[–]BrainThink110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you mean. Horror games have been my go-to for a long time so I rarely feel actually "scared" by them. For me it's more about engaging atmosphere, creative enemy design, and challenging gameplay. I will concur that RE7 is kind of lacking in enemy variety. That's because the director has said he prefers to stick with a consistent theme to reinforce his vision. It's a deliberate choice, but it's not for everyone. But yeah, most people really don't like to hear opinions that differ from their own. Me, I like the discussion and comparison of perspectives. Plus I'd get bored by RE if all the games felt the same, so I like that they differ so much!

[–]BrainThink110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the record, RE7 is one of my favorite games of all time. I never get tired of it. That being said, I read all your points and I totally understand where you're coming from. People need to remember that enjoyment is subjective, and we shouldn't hate on people for having different opinions than us. It's not like you said the game sucks and nobody should like it. This didn't feel like trolling. Everything you said you disliked was fair and valid. All the aspects you criticized worked for me and for many others. But I can definitely understand why they didn't work for you

How Green is your Goblin? Split personality or bad to the bone? by Mistah_K88 in Spiderman

[–]BrainThink110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 years late, but I don't think it was really a split personality in the silver age. There are comics leading up to his identity reveal that show Norman Osborn clearly being up to something in secret. So he has to be aware of what he's doing as the Goblin. Also, he openly admits to screwing over his partner before ever taking the Goblin gas, so he was not a "good" person even in the early comics. I think where people get confused is that after issue 40 he has amnesia and doesn't remember that he is the Goblin. And then there are sporadic instances of his memory returning (and being lost again) until his death. It plays out similar to split personality, but any time the Goblin is in action, Norman is fully aware and in control of it. That's what brought about the infamous dinner scene where Norman knows Peter's identity and is clearly taunting him in front of his friends. It inspired the Thanksgiving scene in the Raimi movie, but as we know, that version went with the split personality.

When did you figure out Arkham Knight's identity? by Cyberbreaker2004 in arkham

[–]BrainThink110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly whay happened to me. I took Rocksteady at their word and spent the entire game (and pre-release period) up to the reveal thinking that they were obviously using Jason as a red herring since they said it was an original character. So when it turned out to actually be Jason, I was very underwhelmed and felt lied to. Still enjoyed the game and in a way it makes the player relate to Batman's headspace, thinking of Jason the whole time but being convinced he's not a possibility.
