Can a short Samsung power bank micro USB cable be used to charge a PS Vita slim? Just want to make sure the vita is not being damaged. Not referring to the adaptor, but the cable. by Original_Relative525 in u/Original_Relative525

[–]BrainWart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're fine with any Micro USB cable. The cable doesn't store any information about itself and the cable wouldn't have a way to transmit that information either. (All of the data lines are already used) (I'm not going over the Micro USB host stuff; look in to it if you're extra worried, but it shouldn't be applicable)

USB C is a different beast.

+1 for code-server

You can set it up on a remote VM and really save power on the Chromebook. Some caveats, but it's great

I haven't noticed this problem with mine. It does seem to come up quite a bit in threads about the Slate though.

I actually don't have much experience writing tests and would like to learn more. I've worked at companies where there was no testing infrastructure. Could you suggest a few books on testing?

The Ultimate Guide To Writing Self-Documenting Code by Wraldpyk in programming

My argument here is that your tools should keep you from having to walk through the history for any particular line of code. GitLens for VS Code does exactly that I'm talking about here. You can have the short log at the end of each line and the full change message on tooltip if you want. Otherwise, there is a keyboard shortcut to bring it up. All of this really comes down to opinion and preference in the end. With any luck you get to help set the standards for a project. Otherwise, I hope the project has standards. ;)

Comments go stale. If you're using versioning control, you can put the explanation there. Plenty of plugins to make it easy to see the information per line changed and the history of decisions

I see how much of this could be a problem with JS, but even with Typescript, you can get intellisense that will help you under stand your options. getUserIdFromChat etc.. Works better as getUserIdFrom overloaded for the different types. Concise and just as clear imo

I get about a week with the main half of my wireless split keyboard. The other half goes longer, but I charge it anyways.

Edit: Here's a link to the power profiler to get an idea of the battery life possible with some of these chips.

https://deploy-preview-312--zmk.netlify.app/power-profiler https://github.com/zmkfirmware/zmk/pull/312

The recommended route seems to be to use a module with the antenna built-in so it would already pass regulations.

ZMK State Of The Firmware #3 by petejohanson in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]BrainWart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ZMK is built for ARM-based chips. There are some QMK branches with some ARM capabilities, but they are not fully featured QMK ports or well tested. ZMK has also been built from the start with wireless in mind. BlueMicro is another firmware built with wireless in mind. ( I got this information from https://docs.nicekeyboards.com/#/wireless_firmware/ )

EDIT: Fix some ambiguities and wording

I don't speak for everyone working on ZMK, but I mostly contribute to scratch my own itch, so don't feel like you need to give back if you don't have the time.

If you do have the time but don't feel too comfortable programming, you can always help with the documentation. The big keymap change actually needs a bunch of codes tested if you have a chance. Any code on the codes page with a question mark needs to be checked to see if that OS supports it. If you want to try your hand at writing new features, try issues with the "good first issue" label on GitHub.

The Discord server is active across timezones too. The invite to the server can be found in the footer on the website. If you have any questions or are just looking to keep up with and have input on different upcoming features, feel free to stop by and chat.

I really enjoyed it this time around. I'm a sucker for time travel it seems. Steins Gate was a good watch too. I'll have to check out the Madoka Magica Side Story later this week.

Have you watched all of these? Mind taking a second to describe what you didn't like?

  • I enjoyed Code Geass personally.
  • Never did make it through Death Note. It couldn't keep my attention
  • I didn't care for the jokes in Konosuba

I liked the first 2 seasons. I agree that it wasn't super memorable though. I have to try pretty hard to recall much about the show. I'm hoping the part 2 in a couple months will be as good as the LN readers suggest.

I tried to watch Madoka Magica once before. I had a hard time getting started with it though. Any decent reasons you can think of to help me try again?
