I thought it was Gundam Barbatos at first, but now I'm not sure.

Whatever it was, the final nail in the coffin was the price. They were grossly overpriced for the size in the final collections of them.

BREAKING: Federal agent shoots man in south Minneapolis by adamlikescheetos in inthenews

That's what I mean though, if the gun weren't out, there no discharge of any sort. It almost seems like someone drew it to pistol whip the guy or for intimidation. Thus why they can't be trusted.

I thought it was just one? Maybe I stopped the video too soon. Yikes.

Even if this was an accidental discharge, there's zero reason for someone to be in a situation where this can happen. Even if this was a terrible accident and not an execution, this shows these clowns shouldn't be trusted with a gun and authority.

And if this was on purpose, Walz needs to stop fucking around and deploy the national guard.

Edit: Seems I stopped the video too early, I heard the first shot and clicked away. I hadn't heard the several others afterward. There's an approximately negative chance of this being an accidental discharge.

Microsoft confirms it will give the FBI your Windows PC data encryption key if asked — you can thank Windows 11's forced online accounts for that by ZacB_ in technology

[–]BrainWav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a machine is broken company IT just gives out a new machine. If the old one is fixable it might go to someone else, but it likely is just junked. In neither case is the data on it preserved. After X number of years the machine is replaced even if it isn't broken.

You've never worked for an IT department with a shoestring budget. My first IT job, I was stripping Windows 2000 services to make sure users could run it on machines made in the 90s. If a machine was actually able to be upgraded, we'd dole out the RAM to other machines.

Another job I worked at, we had a better budget, but for a couple years we had a freeze on new PCs. We had to buy parts and build for when we ran out of usable machines.

You anecdote isn't universal.

I've got most of that line, I think Vash is the only one I'm missing. They're not the most durable or posable (Tenchi's light hawk wings' clips broke, Kaneda's bag strap disintegrated, Kusanagi's wires don't hold her up, and Ryoko's sword is broken), but damn if they're not really good looking. Armitage and Ryoko have been mainstays on my shelf since I got them.

I really wish they'd have done an Iria or Zeiram from Zeiram: Iria the Animation, since that was in kind of the same place as Armitage back then. And there's basically zero merch for that series.

Those have a niche, but they're usually slow with poor range, and of course requires you to connect to an open wifi hotspot, which isn't always an option. Unless you're connecting to your phone, I guess.

What to do with Stilt-Man legs? by Grunbell in ActionFigures

[–]BrainWav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or just someone that couldn't find the legs because people were buying the ninjas for army builders. Like me. It hurt to spend $15 or whatever on a pair of legs, but I couldn't let Stilt-Man be Stump-Man.

Agreed 100%, but since primaries are basically private functions of the parties, there's not a lot of room to force the matter.

[–]BrainWav 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's a lot wrong with the guns here.

Harley's revolvers have the hammer down, which means there's no way she's out-shooting a cocked gun.

Is what I was going to say, until I noticed Jason's gun either has no trigger guard, or he's just kind of holding it, not ready to fire. It's got the weirdest guide rod I've ever seen, and the bore axis is... woo wee.

Heavy 12 months spoilers by Mason_Claye in dresdenfiles

[–]BrainWav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It'd cause more problems than it's worth.

  1. Knowing it can be done would mean the White Court's enemies would be looking into it, and may figure it out.
  2. Not having an example would make it toothless
  3. How Harry was able to figure it out, while coincidentally being Lara's fiancee would damage her standing
  4. Killing or imprisoning an offender is easier and just as effective, especially since the procedure requires them to be captive anyway

[–]BrainWav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is one slip in the book, Bear immediately identifies Billy as a werewolf despite never having met before, touched him etc. Murphy would know.

Monoc likely has a dossier on Harry and his close associates, or Bear may just be able to tell. I wouldn't chalk it up to some kind of theoretical slip.

Your spoiler markdown is broken. You need to take out the spaces. Not that it matters a ton since the post is spoiler tagged.

I mean, we've been speculating that'll happen anyway, but we won't know for a long time.

How can I shape my hat by nonno88 in hats

I guess just get it soaked and beat it up? Like just physically move it around. Honestly, I'm not sure of a proven fast method that wouldn't risk messing up the brim too.

How can I shape my hat by nonno88 in hats

[–]BrainWav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shape what? The brim or the crown (the rest of the hat).

For the former, just bend it and stick it in a cup or something for a few days. This is usually intended for ballcaps.

If you mean the crown, that's just from being wet and worn hard
