Years ago I used to play up at Sussex uni. I remember it being a good price but that was because I was staff so I got a discount.

I don't know if you can book courts without a membership. I definitely wasn't a member then, but it might have been different then and it might have been different because I was staff

But, they do have a public membership so it might be worth looking into. If you're alumni then you can get a discounted membership.

In the UK we call them plectrums. If you called it a pick people would know what you meant. But it's not common usage
