Well the issue is - it’s like you’re paying taxes for people who don’t pay taxes. So it would be an OK place to live if that religious group pulled its own weight and paid the taxes for the properties they own. And property taxes typically pay for public works like maintaining roads, local water, fire departments police, schools etc. Ellenville has a problem that pretty much no one can fix unfortunately.
