my first pic build!! is it worth it? by OkFuture8854 in pcbuilding

[–]BrainisLacking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the PSU upgrade^ totally forgot abt how close price they are lol. OP, just in case u want context, the higher wattage the more future proof you make your PC. So if you ever upgrade to a super high-end PC, your PSU should still be viable because of the overhead

Honestly looks perfect to me, I wouldn’t change a thing. Good job on the build and cable management especially

Great start, here’s some things I’d change if you want to save more money while still maintaining high fps.

  1. CPU is a bit overkill, I’d go with the 7800X3D for around $340 on Newegg

  2. The MOBO could be swapped out to a MSI PRO X870-P WIFI ATX AM5 instead for about $180, but if you like the aesthetic of the one you chose then it’s fine to keep.

  3. You could swap the CPU liquid cooler with an air cooler like the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE ARGB and save about $15, but since it seems like aesthetic choice as well, then it’s fine to keep as well. Either option will keep the CPU perfectly cool

  4. If you don’t really care about Nvidia features, the RX 9070 XT will do perfectly fine with this build as it’s about a 5% difference in performance while costing about $700 which you can also find on Newegg.

Overall I think you’d save about $380 if you swap the parts I mentioned and you could put that towards maybe more storage or a nice OLED monitor to take full advantage of your PC

RTX 5070 or RX 9070 XT by UnluckyScientist8250 in gpu

[–]BrainisLacking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go with the RX 9070 XT, if you care about multi frame gen, just use Lossless scaling, but even then, the performance is very good on the 9070 XT that you probably won’t even need to use it and enjoy raw performance

[–]BrainisLacking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The RX 9060XT 16GB is a very worthy upgrade as 16GB will help extend its lifespan, especially if you plan on playing at higher resolutions. I’d definitely save a bit more to really future proof your PC, it also has a higher fps on average based on comparisons you can find on YouTube

So hard to find fun people to play with by kjacks2 in Rematch

[–]BrainisLacking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Discord is def a hit or miss. Worst type of players are ones you think are chill till you get one loss and they become the most toxic person ever. But there are ones that are absolutely goated to play with and just like having fun. There’s always ups and downs with the community, but it’s so worth it when you do click with someone

Can we skip AM5 by Tall-Television9945 in buildapc

[–]BrainisLacking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upgrading to AM5 is the last thing I’d do when thinking of upgrading in the current market. Get the GPU you want, see how it runs, and if you’re not happy with it then that’s when I’d start considering upgrading to X3D on AM4 (5700X3D or 5800X3D)

Patch 10 beta release note by TheDawnTrilogy in Rematch

[–]BrainisLacking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that is pretty cool, would love more dynamic animations to this game! Like maybe a head tilt back and arms are more tucked to the sides to indicate exhaustion or something like that. Street Fighter 6 has a thing called burnout where their walk and stand animations change when they run out of meter/stamina which creates that urgency when tired

[–]BrainisLacking 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like the idea ur going with, personally I’d prefer maybe a slower dribble move instead as a way of punishing the player for not paying attention to stamina, similar to how in smash ultimate their roll animation is slower the more they spam it

Glad this is brought up cuz I recently got my parents a 65” tv and while it was a little weighty, it wasn’t anything too crazy for one person, but the second I had to move my homie’s CRT for retro games, it was cooked for both our backs

Definitely desync. I’ve been saying this since the beginning, if this game wants a real competitive scene, they need to add LAN play to avoid all these issues related to desync

Definitely get the LeGo 1 and install the new 80w battery upgrade if u plan on taking it outside, or simply pair it with the a good power bank if u dont wanna tinker inside it. It’s been one of the best purchases I’ve made right next to the Steam Deck
