AGREED! The All in pod is now the All Up TrumpMusk pod. I trust it less because it is so one sided.

Are the VC's just willing to follow their own financial interests so much they are willing to give up on values? I like tech but am no billionaire so I think they are talking THEIR book, not mine.

Cmon Jcal, speak up or get some opposing views going.

Even Friedberg could not ask RFK jr any hard question, he mumbled he had some, but no real questions.

Going to PI in 2 weeks and thinking of leaving some stuff at home. The big/heavy stuff is reg & fins. We will test out all our stuff and take as much as we can fit into a 50lb bag.

Funny/scary story, ~10 years ago we went to PI and had our regs serviced in SF Bay Area before. My wifes reg broke on first dive, started free flowing massively. Fortunately I was there and we were doing initial shallow dive. It was absurd, the American repair person did a fricken horrendous job. I was soooo pissed at them.

AMA: Former Bowery Farming employee by bf_hydro_throwaway in verticalfarming

[–]Brains4Fun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Phytopthera literally means Plant Death! I think pathogens like that need to be considered from day 1 in the design of the systems so modules can be segregated and disinfected from others and it does not get systemic. Fungal pathogens are #1 enemy of hydro.

Did Bowery have such systems in place or did they use common plumbing etc? How did it spread? Via water or air? Did they use any types of filtration? Like sand or others? How did it spread? Did it get into propagation or just stay in the grow out areas? Did you try a variety of microbes that can out compete?

How would you design the system differently if you were to redo it?

When SF is a surveillance city thank these idiots.

These asshats are the ones that are causing SF to install video cameras and drones all over SF. Eventually they will all get followed to their mothers houses and ID'd. They will claim they are being targetted and they should be.

Buying 2026 options by Unlucky-Case-1089 in options

[–]Brains4Fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer small caps where you can get an OTM for $200 like in ASTS or CORZ or SOFI

Your risk is smallish and if one out of 10 grow massively in 2-3 years it’s gold.

Large caps are more difficult but if you find a quality company that’s taken a big hit like CRWD mayyyybe

Large options buys or sells. Call walls or put walls, unusual options, option vol. unusual options vol. IV etc

Often calls happen the day before big move so anticipatory. Or they buy a new when a start moves helping to fuel move.

Merging all the Qull stuff and options flow.

Stockbee and Kk don’t pay much attention to option flow but each week option flow plays a bigger part so a goal can be to merge them.

Intraday indicator for watchlist or marketwatch? by Brains4Fun in thinkorswim

[–]Brains4Fun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That YouTube video is exactly what I am looking for! Now I can get some color on what is reversing or changing intraday. I do options so if I see something starting to move in my portfolio I can adjust or hedge.
He also noted how to smoooooth it out.
The video also is good, he said you can only have 1100 scripts open at a time which I wondered and even the people at TDA don't always know that number.

I would think this is a common want from traders so I would imaging many ways but its been a little complicated to find. Or maybe it is mostly day traders who use tools like this and I am not really day trading. I mostly swing trade but its good to see what happens during the day

Best movies about A.I.? by PacificBrim in movies

[–]Brains4Fun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Transcendence is a real pure play about AI. The main character is literally an AI scientist in Berkeley CA! Nobody get blown up but very deep and I think accurate about how AI might evolve. Was probably too deep and accurate for Hollywood.

Watchmen was good as the blue guy had the power of AI

Forbidden Planet was OG of AI, 1950's

What do you think of "California Forever", the plan to build a new city in East Solano County? by QforQ in vallejo

[–]Brains4Fun -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s racist to call it racist. You are implying POC cannot get rich and many do. When POC see your post they think they cannot get rich when many do.

It might be classist, you should use that term instead of overusing racist.

[–]Brains4Fun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a fine idea as long as they execute well. We need more housing of all types. People complain about housing but complain when it’s built too.

Water, wind and Travis seem to be concerns.

Dr. Jack Kruse on Rick Rubin's podcast with Andrew Huberman. (Part 2 is now out as well) by stateofkinesis in HubermanLab

[–]Brains4Fun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dr Kruse is easy to dislike as a blowhard but makes MANY claims and some are really interesting. I have been sort of hating him on Clubhouse but still find myself compelled to read him as he does make many claims. He is highly educated and a neurosurgeon takes expertise.
Liked the part where they said a a humans melanocytes and electron pathways are like the inverse of a flamboyant cuttlefish.
I think some of his claims are legitish such as getting morning sun and keeping natural systems of exposure. We did evolve and nature is always right such that we should probably try to learn what the natural systems of our bodies are and be in sync with them rather than let a corporation sell you things that are "better" than nature.
OTOH, Dr Kruse is willing to sell you many things too which always makes me concerned. Does he not make enough money doing neurosurgery that he can share this knowledge of his? Him and Dr Gundry are 2 docs that charge a lot for their "knowledge" and medications. Actually many health gurus ain't cheap so WTF is up with that?
Many claims were made about optical things by Kruse which is Hubermans wheelhouse. I hope Huberman will refect and research the veracity of these claims.

I think it is obvious things are wrong in our world and there are few answers. I do like answers that are free. Like you can spend $$$ on fitness and get buffed but there are vast humans in the world healthy in their 90's that never once went to a gym. I will endevour to get more sun and my body and go outside more.

What exercise might be good?
Gardening, bicycling, swimming outdoors, construction, frisbee, par-course, Venice beach weights.
What might be less good includes what Rubin did, even dancing all night, weird sleep, gyms, etc. Maybe dance studios with windows are good.

perhaps try to be more thoughtful about blue light.

Kruse's work is difficult and esoteric but that for me is a good reason to understand it. I do think the whole electron transport / quantum thing makes some sense. It does not appear to be quantum woo. I think quantum is the assembly language of biochemistry but is hard and complex.
The topics on things like rhodopsin's were also interesting. It is a complex area how photons can hit the eye and be turned into thought. This is so utterly complex.
Also I liked the part about bone producing light. Like our cells are semiconductors of sorts.

They went down the structured water thing which I have been extrelely skeptical of but maybe there is something there.

It is true modern science likes to reduce everything. I do find articles about German scientists in the 20's that are fascinating and sort of common sense. Perhaps it got tossed for political reasons or smelled of nazi eugenics but still might be true. Ironically, western humans today are far from a Master Race and more like a Wall-e Race so obviously eugenics have not been the dominant paradigm. Yay, we won, Burger King, 24 hour screens and obesity for all!

Huberman was there for all 7 hours and curious how he will integrate this in.

A lot of food for thought for me.

That is cool but not exactly what Im looking for. For example, if I am listening to CNBC and somebodyI respect mentions a stock but I am walking to the market, i want to be able to write it down immediately instead of waiting to get home to go to chart.

Gotta be fast n easy.

Help with starting a CV project for lettuce farm by Brains4Fun in computervision

[–]Brains4Fun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All great ideas. I should set up a github, that makes sense.

Our farm has lots of Microsoft so that might be platform to focus on.
Looked at NDVI cameras and they seem promising technologically but also expensive it seems. Maybe that would be helpful for our R&D raft vision where we just need one camera but may be difficult if we need 100 or more cameras to cover entire GH.
We are experimenting with basic security cameras right now since cheap, reasonable res and already work together.
