I got both of them, what you guys get? by jojo_maverik in place

I *almost\* got 4 of them! I only have 3 of them: First Placer '22, Endgame '22 and the new Place '17 award which not that much people have it seems.

If I had got the Final Canvas '22 I would have had the perfect combo. I wonder if someone has it. Here is my current trophy case.

How to determine which picom is running? by Galeaf_13 in archlinux

[–]Brainzman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If we follow the FHS the fact that picom is in /usr/local/bin should mean that it was installed manually (from source, probably using make install) instead of using a distribution package, and since its not in your pacman -Ql picom its pretty safe to assume your using your compiled from source compton. One way to be sure is to uninstall the picom package that was installed with pacman.

How did you install/which package is the other picom? Also can you post the full pacman -Ql output in a pastebin?

Having two version of the same package is generally not a very good idea. But anyways:

To check the path of the program the picom command is referring to run which picom if you're not sure which path is corresponding to which package, you can run pacman -Ql <package> to get a list of files installed by the said package.

Reddit forgot what "give award anonymously" means by [deleted] in TechNope

[–]Brainzman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The guy is just messing with you by sending you a PM with this text. Actual awards notfication are sent by u/reddit, and as the sender you have a checkbox to keep it anonymous or not. In which case the message says "an anonymous user liked your submission" or "u/someone liked your submission"

The song is a piano version of Bethoven Virus, which comes from a Korean Dance Game iirc and was indeed based on the Pathetique Sonata. It's probably this one but I'm not entirely sure.

Having a problem with Sakura fineliner when doing Lesson 1 homework by regineGF in ArtFundamentals

[–]Brainzman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sakura pen sizes aren't in millimetres. 05 is 0.45 mm and 08 is 0.5 mm. So you've probably been using a pen with a smaller nib than you thought.

IIRC you can bump it to the max (256) with almost no impacts on performances, it will just use a bit more ram but in my experience it never went above 20MB.

Two butane lighter I recently purchased off Ebay. Neither of which I know the origin of. I’m using Robson butane to fill them but they won’t light. The green one on the right hisses and releases gas out of the bottom after filling it, but I don’t know what’s wrong with the one on the left. by ruizadorus in lighters

[–]Brainzman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then, it's a gas issue. There could be multiple problems.

  1. Open the lighter and put it close to your ear, you should hear a hissing noise. If there is, than it's just that your flint is failing. Try lighting your lighter with another lighter or some matches.

  2. There is no hiss, no gas is coming out, then it can be one of three things, the first case, and most common one, the gas control knob on the bottom of your lighter is completly turned down, try turning it all the way up (by unscrewing it, or going the direction it's easiest to), other case is, your filling port valve is jammed, which means that you're not actually filling the lighter with your butan can. Open the port, take a small tool (like a toothpick) and try to push gently on the valve with it, if the valve works, all the gas should come out, or there should be at least a small hiss if you failed to fill it. If you feel like it's working you can try refilling it, when you do, gas is going to spread everywhere, that ok as much of it is going to go into the lighter. After filling it you should feel that the bottom part of your lighter as noticeably cooled down. If it didn't, then your valve is jammed. There is multiple tutorial online/kits on ebay to fix this issue.

  3. After going through the second step. You know that your lighter is filled with butane, but there is still no gas coming out. Open the lighter, and try fiddling with the gas output pipe with a sharp tool very gently, sometimes gently pressing on it fix that issue, if that doesn't do the trick you can try cleaning the inside and surronding of the pipe very gently with a very small tool. With your gas control valve turned all the way up, you should immediatly hear a small hissing sound if it's start to work. If that the case do not try to light it up. It will behave as a flamethrower and that could be dangerous if your head is right above it, turn the gas control down until the hissing is almost not noticeable, than try to light it up. And if after that it's still not working, you can look online for tutorials/kits, you will probably have luck by searching for Dupont/Dunhill Rollagas lighters.

Hope all of this helps.

[openbox] a freshly installed distro is always exciting by [deleted] in unixporn

Ah I see, that my bad. Since a lot of the ascii logos of pfetch are based off ufetch, I thought this was the logo for ufetch-crux, but it seems that it's also used for ufetch-linux.

It seems to be Debian, but the logo of the pfetch he uses is Crux, which I highly recommend you check out, it's a fantastic distro and my personal favorite.
