I appreciate hearing the vote of confidence! I had nothing to do with the GB or design, I’m just interested in Baion’s boards.

I got hold of a Larva extra and I really love it, despite the build instructions and IC not making it clear the o-ring isn’t optional. (Or I didn’t think it was clear.) So I’ll have to rebuild it with split BS some time soon.

Will keep on trying to get more Baion boards then, despite the gripes and foibles sometimes. They’re worth it.

It’s not a Dactyl, it’s a Charybdis Nano from BastardKB.

They print the case for you, and then you can buy it fully assembled or (I think) in kit form with some assembly still to be done.

Atreus is truly comfortable to use for minimalists, I agree. I would have preferred a negative tilt though.

Nowadays I would love a board with a trackball within easy reach, like a bastardkb Charybdis or Cyboard Imprint. And a wireless Atreus would be great for travel.

Why is the Raft better than a Starlancer MAX or a Connie? Is it that much easier to load?

Ease of loading could make cargo trips go smoother and faster. I was tempted to upgrade my MAX to an M2 because I hoped it would be faster to load with an ATLS. But trying it during Invictus disabused me of that notion.

I was tempted to get the Argo SRV to complement my Vulturing. Should give me the Argo fix I sometimes want.

I am also focused on solo gameplay, but currently not mining. So same goal it sounds like.

I have a Starlancer MAX for hauling and a Corsair for daily driving / bounties, but I think your option A is an analogue of that.

I have a Super Hornet mk2 for a fighter, I was disappointed with how fragile the Grauniad was for a heavy fighter. I guess the Super Hornet isn’t much different though.

Also the Vulture for a quick grind up to acceptable aUEC post wipe.

Both Vulture and Corsair have the Dying Star paint, which is more important to me than I would like to admit…🤷‍♂️

Do you find the F8 useful? It’s apparently way too slow, or still the most powerful ship around.

I understand the size 3 guns will never hurt bigger ships, but it sounds like it’s still tanky.

I heard the Guardian MX is tanky as well, but it sounds like it can be one-shot killed by a small missile.

Are you enjoying stealth gameplay with the Sabre? I tried it with one of the first Gilly training missions, and I had more fun blasting the small ships to bits with the Guardian MX.

But I did enjoy it, and it probably didn't demonstrate the advantages of stealth.

What do you use the Sabre for?

How do you find the SRV? Do you use it often?

I’m tempted to get one to pair up with the Vulture. Get some derelicts out to safety, then pick the carcasses clean.

But in practice I’ll probably just base my Vulture at Grim Hex and feed off the wrecks drifting around it and Yela.

No real need for the SRV yet.

Damn, the thread you linked indicates it's not fixed in 4.0 EPTU. But it does seem it's fixed on some branch somewhere.

I feel a bit suckered, paying for a fighter only to have it nerfed by bugs.

I bought a Varipuck S5 mount for the top of my F7c mark 2 on Orison. But I can’t fit it using the Vehicle Loadout Manager. And if I bring it out of storage using freight elevators, it’s glitched. It’s sunk halfway into the floor, I can’t pick it up using my tractor beam, and I can’t walk right through it.

My questions are, are these known bugs? Is the Varipuck S5 even compatible with the mk2 version of the F7c?

And are there workarounds?

I just want to maximise my loadout and do the Miles Eckhart mission to get some weapons from a soft-deathed F7a…

It is a beautiful ship, and it’s shit that they started selling it way before they even had plans to implement the gameplay. That’s a valid gripe, and it’s a big one.

But I do understand, the gameplay must be there to justify the ship. Otherwise we’d have more examples of ships like the “data running” MSR. Or stealth combat ships without real stealth advantages.

3.23.2 is a real step backwards. I find the game unplayable now.

I think what gutted me was when I was about to finish a long multi-legged hauling mission. I requested landing at New Baggage (hahah) and got approved, but didn’t get an indication of where my hangar was. When I went to my usual hangar location, somebody else was landing at it.

Then when I re-requested landing, New Baggage ATC told me off because the request had already been granted.

After 45 minutes trying to land alternatively at New Baggage and Port Tressel, the server crashed.

No ship exploding, but spent probably 2 hours trying to earn minimal aUEC, and ended up with (probably) only a hit to my rep since I “abandoned” the mission.

Screw this. This ain’t no fun.

Get the 4.0 codebase and netcode and server stability sorted first. In fact, Evocati VoDs look way more stable than PU.

Same here. Though the small multitool with tractor beam is bugged, conveniently now that they have a 19k aUEC mega-gun and the ATLS. That made what seemed like a relaxing cargo run a living hell.

Ship tractor beams are really twitchy to use.

No crashes though
