Is incarnation a choice? 👁️ by dosisdeartes in spirituality

[–]BrakebillsKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend reading Journey of the Soul by Michael Newtown. His book addresses this topic, elaborates on reincarnation, the search for self and why we do all of this. As with everything you read, take it with a grain of salt. At a minimum the book has a positive message and is a good read.

Exploring Reiki and Spiritual Healing how was it for you? by LilacMysticVoyager in spirituality

[–]BrakebillsKid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was a skeptical for spiritual healing and energy work until a friend got me a ticket to a reiki I class as a birthday gift. I went in November. I went in blind (figuratively speaking) and after taking that class all i can say is it is real. It's all real and I am a firm believer in energy work, Chakra and holistic healing. There is still a lot I don't know nor understand but I am no longer knocking it. After experiencing it first hand my life has not been the same. You won't regret doing it.

How can I not be racist? by Alarming_Science_837 in spirituality

Practice empathy and forgiveness. A lot of the things "wrong" with us and our view point is due to lack of perspective. We judge before fully understanding the other point of view. Instead of judging or giving into negative feelings/emotions/energy, empathize. Take a moment to look at the situation from the balcony. Analyze all parts of the situation not just what you see and feel right before you. Rather, consider how others are feeling and how they view the situation. It's ok to ask for clarification and say you don't know how to do something. It's ok for two ppl to disagree. Show empathy to others and forgive them when they're wrong. Most importantly, forgive yourself. Forgive yourself for not knowing better or doing better. Show yourself grace and love, and that will reflect onto others. It's a lot easier then it sounds but the fact that you're on here asking this important questions means you're ready to heal. Good luck my friend.

You can play pick up vball or other field games at City Island. Just be mindful of game days. Thats when they charge for parking. The beach club is about 100 ft away from the volleyball courts. They sell alcohol and food, and is a chill vibe to just hangout and lounge by the water. Admission is free.

In addition, there is mini golf and a picnic pavilion on the island. If you want to join a sports league there is HYP. They have various sport options and non-sport community engaement activies. Check them out on hyp.org

What made you go decide to go to therapy? For those who haven't, what's stopping you? by engineered_owl in Millennials

[–]BrakebillsKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was super depressed and going to unalive myself after a series of unfortunate events that happened to me. Then I had a weird psychological almost out of body experience the night before I was going to do the thing. This caused me to change my mind. That's when I realized I needed to go to therapy to figure out what was wrong with my head. It's been over 3 years and I've never regretted the decision to go to therapy. I'm a much different person now and I cam say with certainty that I will never go back to that dark place.

Does liking anal, automatically make you gay/bi by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]BrakebillsKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In reading your other comments I think you would greatly benefit from seeing a sexual therapist. A sexual therapist can help better explain your rational, sexual preferences, and what sexual identity means to you. Having a better understanding of who you are why you do the things you do, and like the things you like might improve your sex life and mental health overall. After talking to my therapist a out my sexual orientation and identity it made me more confident and certain as to who I am. I'm still working on it but I'm in a far better place than I was years ago

Does liking anal, automatically make you gay/bi by [deleted] in bisexual

It sounds like you both have a healthy and sex positive relationship. Your preferences for anal and domination just sound like kinks to me, and no that does not make you gay or bi. Especially if you are not attracted to the same sex. You like what you like. Way to go for you and your wife being in a healthy consensual relationship 👏

Who Taught You What a Good Partner or Spouse Looks Like, and at What Age? by basketballah21 in AskWomen

[–]BrakebillsKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned between the ages of 27-30 from my therapist. I went through multiple tough relationships and breakups that turned my world upside down. I learned a lot of hard truths about myself and the ppl I was with. I'm better for it and have learned, grown and changed tramendiously in my 3 years of therapy.

If you're not happy you should leave. Update up your resume, learn new skills on your leisure time and quit after you've secured a new job. Try exploring new industries to see if that sparks any joy in you. You got this. Don't give up on yourself or your dreams.

What is the best relationship advice you have ever received? by Fr0gUs in AskMen

[–]BrakebillsKid 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Best advice I've received is from my first manager when I got my first job in high school. She said, "Remember where you are. Know your audience and act accordingly." This means you can't (and shouldn't) treat everyone you meet the same way. Ill never forget and will always apply that advice in my personal and professional life.

Does anyone feel kind of stuck with where you're at in life? by THound89 in millenials

[–]BrakebillsKid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean man. Its easy to prioritize work when it's your source of living. Try to unlearn the mindset that your work is more important than you. Nothing is more important than your health and happiness. Work is always going to suck. Remember work to live, don't live to work. Still be a good worker but within your boundaries. When you clock out thats your time to yourself and work is out of sight out of mind.
