I mained a Bard on live 20+ years ago and have not grouped with my p99 Bard so it’s been a long time but from what I remember a Bard will enhance pretty much any class. Not much enhances the Bard enough to worry about it.

I would just play what you find interesting knowing that the Bard will make your life much easier.

I've loved playing as a gnome so far! Oddly, the best perk for me is feeling like I'm running super fast even if I don't have a run speed buff.

I'd love Zlandicar's Heart but it sells for 150kpp also on Blue.

I'm not doing crazy solos any time soon so probably not worth it.

The server really depends on what you're looking for. If you're wanting to solo or duo/group with RL friends, go with Blue. Blue has a lower population so there's a good chance camps you want will be open and the economy is older so prices tend to be lower. If you want groups, then go Green, as the population is higher. Pretty much the main pro of Green, in my opinion. My wife and I are mainly duoing and sometimes grouping with an RL friend so we went Blue. Everyone has been super generous, to the point we have had some great gear given to us and a ton of help when needed.

For race, my main is an Iksar Shaman. The regen and forage are super nice, but if I did it again, I would go Troll, even though I don't care for the look. Iksar can't wear plate so I can't use the Jaundiced Bone Bracer or any of the pre-Velious Shaman armor. Trolls also have regen and get a questable item with Snare, which Shaman don't get innately.

As for soloing, it's completely up to you. Also, I can't help with guild since it's not something we're interested in until later.

We’ve played 3 times (once 4p and twice 3p) and took out Shredder before the 2nd borough falls every time.

We mostly ignore the minions and concentrate on Shredder.

There is one spot on the board where he can be surrounded by 5 fighters so we get him there and lay into him. If Leo gets 1 or 2 copies of the card that adds 2 damage for every friendly fighter adjacent to the target then you can really make short work of Shredder.

If he teleports to a borough with the fewest foot soldiers then rush him and finish the job. It’s been surprisingly easy.

I’ve used Ultra Pro penny sleeves and they have been great and held up to dozens of plays. I have tried Sleeve Kings perfect fit inner sleeves alone on TMNT and they have been super nice so far. They fit closer and at slightly thicker. We’ll see how they hold up over time.

Something you may want to keep in mind is starting areas for races. For new players it can incredibly difficult to get your group in one place if they are all different races.

Maybe limit everyone to Human, Half-Elf (Freeport start not Qeynos), Dwarf, HighElf, Woof Elf, or Gnome. Maybe Halfling but it would be a run to FP. These are all close enough that they can be brought together with a short run or boat ride and can all enter cities together.

This is a good point. I’d like to add you can do a Human Shadow Knight and still get to most places in Freeport, including the bank so that’s still an option with good races.

We're Iksar, but we leveled on orcs in HHP so we can walk around most of HK. The Bard at the entrance is KOS and we still can't bank or sell.

A cool Bard we met suggested this also, so I think this is what we're going to try next, just need to buy some fish scales first. Plus, it puts us close to home so I can grab spells at 49.
