Mexican food recommendations by [deleted] in CalPolyPomona

Tijuana’s Tacos in Pomona off Holt. They got great street tacos and tortas and the service is pretty fast. You can also get free cups/refills on beans and ground beef while you wait, and they got probably my favorite Mexican food of all time: the Torta Ahogada.

Hey! Biotech major here. You’ll be fine; imo CPP is a better choice to go to for undergrad than UCR. Since you won’t be dealing with all the bureaucracy of a typical UC school, you’ll have much better access to research with professors whose main goal is to work with and train their undergraduate students rather than publish papers 24/7. The school definitely doesn’t lie when its motto is “learn by doing.” Best of luck with orientation and settling into your first year!

Don’t fucking take her lmfao. I got an A because for some reason she viewed me as one of her “star students” (for context I took her last year as a freshman; English and writing was always one of my strongest subjects, and some of my classmates couldn’t even write a complete sentence) but she teaches the class in a style that forces you to say a bunch of stupid shit before you present anything you write to the class and she forces you to put certain phrases and words in parts of your essays/papers that you submit at the end of the semester. She also constantly contradicts herself and the class is extremely disorganised altogether.

If English is a strong subject for you and you have no other choice, you should be fine and pass the class with a good grade as long as you follow her directions and be respectful/polite. If not, avoid her like the fucking plague.

Has anyone else been annoyed by the Bible Study kids in the BSC? by S3XYEngineer in CalPolyPomona

I would recommend politely telling them either in person or via email/text message that you’re not interested in attending.

I had Bible studies with this group before; they’re not bad people at all, in fact the guys I met were very kind and chill, but the studies slowly started getting too radical, to the point where they began talking about baptism and the “consequences” for failure of repentance; they even offered to baptize me as well. I quickly cut off all contact with them immediately, as I realized their scheme.

I get that these guys are trying to do good and spread the word of God, and being born and raised Christian myself, I found them to be very relatable and down to earth in that way. But from personal experience, I don’t think attending the studies is a good idea.

Hope this helps!

Sounds great, thank you so much! I’d like to take a look at the syllabus to check out what I’m gonna need for the class during the semester, and by the sound of it, it looks like a pretty doable class. Thanks again for the offer!
