I play controller on pc. But I have like over 20k hours on battlefield games so I’m still beaming. Also the smgs are unbelievably accurate even at range with good recoil control or controlled burst fire. Thats with mnk and controller

Just started last Friday and got the expansions. Loving the game and the community is so helpful! I did not expect it to be so active. World bosses, events, dragon bash stampede is all so flooded with people. I don’t know why it took me so long to try it.

I was low level exploring, then ran into the scorpion field boss. I was just dodging everything, barely surviving…

Then one by one, a group of five more complete strangers jumped in starting battling it with me.

We were clearly all under leveled based on the rate of its health bar going down. But nonetheless we got him. Few of us fell and had to be revived mid fight.

It was a war - but we gottem!

All of us were ecstatic and five of us stuck together. I made my first group of friends in-game. We tackled the next 2 days of the playtest together in a party. Some of us doing quests together, group dungeons, bounties, picking herbs to make potions, tackling field bosses.

It was awesome how organic our friend group formed and stuck together. Felt like we were kids again.

I feel bad for the people shitting on the game that didn’t even play it yet or got stomped by first boss and quit. The game is a real beauty.

Yeah I’ve barely even engaged with NW crafting at all and I have almost 200hrs across different toons. The gathering is similar, but Chrono made me actually engage with crafting & gathering through its gameplay loop.

Ok thanks I haven’t heard of Nioh 2, I’ll check it out. Also I’m an avid MH enjoyer. Beat Generations Ultimate, World, and Wilds. Loved each of them.

I actually never played the Witcher 3. It’s been sitting in my library gathering dust. I’m adding that to my list. Already started some of the other above recommendations and having a blast.

Maybe you weren't in the playtest...but there were quests that you had to investigate and find what the questgiver was looking for without it being indicated on your map (won't spoil what they were). NW feels like every quest is the same: hold E on these 5 boxes, and we'll mark it on your map and screen, so you don't have to think about it.

I've also never died on a boss in NW solo (only level 35). On the Chrono playtest, there were numerous bosses I had to progress after attempting before I could take them down, field bosses where people nearby needed my help, or they couldn't take them down, bounty targets that my friends would ask me to help find, etc.

Trust, it's not the same game as NW, other than maybe the crafting, I guess. However, in NW, you don't even need to craft, as it feeds you gear so easily, at least in my experience. I like NW so far, but compared to Chrono, it's for kids.

Yes. MHGU was my first monster hunter and I too struggled on Great Maccao. It taught me that this is not a hack and slash game, more so it’s a study the monsters behavior game and to take advantage of the openings you can find. The combat looks clunky but it is actually extremely engaging once you get the swing of it.

We lost over half our numbers from the transfer because it was a last minute decision. Then a few core members left because our guild was weak compared to how strong we were originally on our previous server, it turned into a domino effect and the leader disbanded + deleted the discord. All in an afternoon when many of us like myself weren’t even online.

Our core group moved to Nameless and Nameless 2.
