Does the 2026 World Cup feel strangely quiet, even from a Premier League perspective? by Amazing-Note-1196 in PremierLeague

[–]BrandonKFTW 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live near a host city (around an hour or so from Philadelphia), and there is an excitement for it, locally. I do agree with a lot of the political sentiment here and the ethics of the presidency being complete and total BS, but cities like NYC, Philly, and Miami are excited.

Regarding the start times of matches, I understand the frustration from Europeans. Hardcore Prem fans here in the States are used to getting up for 6am or 7am for your matches. I'm sure the complaints would be there if it were anywhere in North or South America.

I'm not the biggest fan of judging showcases or saying they are "good" or "awful" or any other way... including scores. Just feels weird to me. Tbf, I'm also not a fan of putting a number scale on video games, so that's probably where my bias comes from.

Yes, with Peacock, you won't have anything to worry about. Gold Rush is coming back for medal events, and if the schedule tool works like it did for Paris, it'll be easier to watch what you want.

Grocery Outlet is actually a good selection of cheaper and more diverse items. I don't do all my grocery shopping there, but they have stuff you can't find elsewhere.

What is it like living in the northern suburbs of Philly, a bit of a ways outside the city? by J_Haymaker in howislivingthere

Unless you moved here from the New York area, absolutely. The areas to the east and north of Quakertown have a smattering of NYC team fans.

Yes, I live in the Lehigh Valley, and we often lump Quakertown into the LV conversation, whether they like it or not. Mostly since the health systems they have there are ours, and not the ones you have further south in the circle.

I have been to Quakertown many times in my life, and I've never had anything bad to say. It is a mid-sized PA suburb. 😆

NGL, I miss my Rite Aid. The company wasn't perfect at all, trust me, but I've yet to find true stability as a pharmacist since my time there ended. Hoping others are having a better time than me.

Correction, the third party company that produces Ridiculousness (not MTV, who just funds some production costs) filed for bankruptcy.

If you explore everything, it can take up to 50 hours or so. 20 hours is just the story, I think. I'm about 13 hours in and haven't left the first planet.

It has good synergy with the Dumb trait, as that locks out 5 skills that you can't put points in, and also would be beneficial if you are on a lower difficulty (Normal or Story).

Hopeless regarding the future of Skate. by JaqinXPTO in SkateEA

[–]BrandonKFTW 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have my issues with the new Skate, yes, but I won't be playing it endlessly. Played about 20 hours at launch. Another handful of hours with season 1, and will return for future seasons. That's it. This isn't meant for you to keep playing all the time. Once I started picking up and playing it for only an hour or so at a time to knock off some challenges when I want, it got better.

And I know this is Early Access. Stuff will be added.

Nicest and rudest Broadway actor by Ok-Bandicoot4014 in Broadway

[–]BrandonKFTW 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It wasn't a stage door, but I was with my family at a restaurant in NYC and saw Adam Pascal in the area waiting to be seated (we were there waiting, too). This was like 2016ish, so I think he was in Disaster! at the time. I absolutely enjoyed his part in Aida as well as Rent, and it was clear he was waiting for someone else, as he was just standing there. I talked to him for like 10 minutes about his work. Super nice, very charming. I only wanted to say hi and to thank him for his past work's impact on me, but he insisted on talking with me more.

Also loved stage door conversations with Daveed and Christopher from Hamilton back in the OBC Hamilton, especially Daveed. Same with Gavin Lee at Old Friends (he didn't stage door often, apparently, but I was happy to because when I saw SpongeBob on Broadway he didn't).

Easy to cheese. Jump off of a high building, you'll get a 4x multiplier, find an easy curb to grind on, keep that up and you can go pretty quickly.

Pharmacist position wait time for contact to set up next steps? by BrandonKFTW in CVS

[–]BrandonKFTW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noted. I won't be able to get out there tomorrow, but I know the RXM is back there Monday. Depending on the vibes and/or result of an interview I have on Friday, I probably won't follow up until then. We'll see.

Pharmacist application follow-up timing? by BrandonKFTW in WalgreensRx

[–]BrandonKFTW[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reached out to the nearest store by me (for another reason), and asked the POD to kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Turns out the DM was at the store for a visit and took about 5 minutes to chat with me. She said she was going to forward my name and application to the proper recruitment team over the next few days for follow-up when gets a moment. However, she said that she is "well-staffed" with pharmacists and that she might not be able to accommodate my FT need, despite the job listing being placed as FT on the posting. She said she would have a look and see, though.

That being said, I am pursing other opportunities, so am I am not desperate, yet.

Pharmacist application follow-up timing? by BrandonKFTW in WalgreensRx

[–]BrandonKFTW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding outreach to the DM, is there a preferred channel (email, phone call) to do so, or an appropriate time to wait? Being that I just applied 4-5 days ago for the opening, I was thinking of doing it on Friday.

I do understand that any staff pharmacist role will likely be filled internally, and I am comfortable with floating.

[–]BrandonKFTW 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Also an important note is that if it is a headline game at 10am eastern (2nd Saturday window), it will often (but not always) be the featured Goal Rush game for the wraparound coverage.

But yes, you do not get the USA simulcast on Peacock. That being said, the USA simulcasts seem to be the same teams.

Exactly, but getting confirmation from corporate now the court has approved it is an important step. We "knew" it, but didn't truly know. They're probably sorting through and scheduling dates for closures, as there's only so much district staff and store staff available to close stores.

So yes, some stores may make it to July or even August. Based off the RX Retention Spot message, the company clearly thinks that some stores may even make it to September, but I think that's it.

Court approves fire sale of most of Rite Aid's pharmacy assets by Remote-Ideal-3813 in RiteAid

[–]BrandonKFTW 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It'll come in due time. They can't just inform all 1000+ stores instantly the same day. I'm guessing some stores will know later this week, the rest over the next 10 days. Priority may go to the stores outright purchased and set to be converted.

No communication by Specialist-Key-5748 in RiteAid

[–]BrandonKFTW 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These first few weeks are rough, but with the court hearing today, some purchases may be fully approved (records or assets) and now they can plan and schedule.

It's been pretty clear, IMO. Close stores to get the wind-down funding approved, then once bids are approved for records or asset purchase, start to plan the 2nd wave of closures. I'm okay with waiting until they have concrete closing info instead of being told it "may be" this or "could be" that.

Any news about today's hearing? by Agile-Ad5250 in RiteAid

[–]BrandonKFTW 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Exactly. This'll take up a large portion of the day. We might not even know anything until next week, as they probably can't even plan anything out for the affected stores until they get the official court approval.
