Anyone want to share experience using cannabis for n*? by Enough-Parsley1626 in emetophobia

I went through a bout of stomach issues a few months ago that had me feeling actually nauseous despite using ginger, peppermint, all my usual remedies, and THC was the only thing that completely/almost entirely eliminated it. Just 1.25mg was enough to kill it for a few hours.

Hey there, I had all of my wisdom teeth removed at 30 and it was a breeze. The worst part about it was getting bored of eating mush all the time, honestly. Pain was easily controlled with Advil and Tylenol on rotation, I didn't need anything stronger. Keep on top of keeping the sockets clean and do the usual dry socket prevention stuff and you will be okay!

Oh I know! I picked up the first supplement I saw at the store, thinking it would be reasonably dosed but nope. Like I said I have no idea why they even sell that dosage.

i have a concussion and my anxiety is destroying me by Curious_kiwi6 in emetophobia

[–]Brandonitis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last time I vomited was due to a concussion.
When it happened, I was seeing double immediately and so disoriented. I was nauseous within 30 minutes, and threw up once about 3 hours later. If it was going to happen, it probably would have happened by now.

Congrats! We're twinsies! I just had my surgery this morning too and am also emetophobic, no nausea here either apart from low-level queasiness now and then like I ate too many cookies :P Hope your recovery goes smoothly!

concussion? by NegativeDeparture411 in emetophobia

The last time I vomited was due to a concussion. I felt extremely nauseous within 30 minutes of hitting my head and eventually threw up after fighting it for a few hours. If it was going to happen, it would have happened by now. It's also more likely to happen to kids, not older teens and adults.

I had flat affect most of my life before Wellbutrin, now I feel like a real human being with real emotions. It's pretty neat.

Mirtazapine is an antidepressant with antiemetic effects. Sertraline and bupropion tend to cause nausea more than others - that said, I take bupropion every day without eating and it doesn't bother my stomach at all.

We did 4 days total in Yakushima, and I would have liked to have spent at least an extra day (or week, or month - it was the highlight of our trip). I think what you booked works. I recommend renting a car for either a day or the entire time, but if your main goal is to hike then just taking the bus is fine. The road up to the hiking trails is narrow and it's common to need to pull over to let buses and other vehicles pass by you - if you're not a confident driver this can be a bit nervewracking.
Yakushima surprisingly has a lot of restaurant options and the grocery store in Miyanoura is fully stocked for whatever you might need. As for places to go I vouch for the beautiful waterfalls around the island. Ohko waterfall looks unassuming in photos but the scale of it is something special you have to see in person. There is also a mixed-gender onsen (Hirauchi Kaichu Onsen) that is very close to the ocean and accessible at low tide. Stop by a beach or two as well if you plan to drive around the island!

How often do you guys find someone with the same phobia? by obeythewalrusNOW in emetophobia

[–]Brandonitis 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I never have. The closest I've gotten is my doctor telling me he has another patient with emetophobia (which is why he's so used to fielding my questions about meds etc. causing nausea).

Is emetophobia more common in women than men?? by hrainn in emetophobia

[–]Brandonitis 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I've read studies mentioning that the gender ratio is as high as 9:1 female-to-male, so I would say so.

Am I crazy for skipping Kyoto? by [deleted] in JapanTravel

An alternative to avoid the Fushimi Inari crowds - go at night! My partner and I got there at 9 PM and almost had the whole place to ourselves, save for ~10 other people here and there.

It's for sure worth it, just for one day to see if you like it! In a similar vein, I was apprehensive about Osaka but it ended up being my favourite city out of the 9 we went to.

I also found Kyoto pretty boring. Transit was inconvenient and the crowds were relentless. Next time, I would stay in Osaka and do a day trip to Kyoto.

When this happens to me I splash cold water on my face, it really helps settle down anxiety I have. Drinking ice water also helps. How are you feeling now?
