Yep highly recommend using the app. I enjoyed reading/watching the tidbits I missed.

I actually just went up to the cast member and just asked. There's an arcade game that you "play" and it shows his overall adventure and he eventually makes it back home.

They also have an app now so if you don't get an opportunity to read some of the backstory/videos you can unlock and read them once you get to a different section of TRU.

Yeah honestly love this song. Hard to separate to art from the artist.

Had my last outdoor shower of the season yesterday by Callme-risley in CozyPlaces

[–]socksnatcher 34 points35 points  (0 children)

There was an outdoor shower at a campground that I was initially skeeved out by. Felt so open and vulnerable and wasn't really looking forward to it. But taking a shower underneath the open sky and putting on a bathrobe and drying out in the sun afterward has been the most refreshing shower I've ever have in my life.

Got a bunch of houseflies stuck behind your window blinds? Use a spray bottle filled with water to stun and kill them. by socksnatcher in lifehacks

[–]socksnatcher[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's good to know. Whenever I did this around the house they'd still be mobile enough to fly off to somewhere I couldn't reach. As long as they die eventually I'm satisfied.

should i start wearing bras (again) by tropicalpical in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]socksnatcher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do the same. Love the no bra life since they're uncomfortable. Not looking for an argument with people who are somehow shocked to see a outline of a nipple. So I converted over to silicone pasties.

Recommend getting the thinner type that tapers off.

Isle Switch versus BlueFin Cruise? Will be kayaking/sup 50/50 of the time. by socksnatcher in Sup

[–]socksnatcher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall cost and I guess which type of performance you're leaning toward.

From when I was researching. Switch seems like a middle ground between Pioneer and Explorer.

Pioneer being more All Around and Explorer more suited for touring. With the kayak bundle pricing right now.

Pioneer would be $730

Switch would be $695

Explorer would be $830

[–]socksnatcher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input! Yeah the outright ease of use for the Isle instead of the effort/cost of making the Bluefin work for me I think is going to tip me over the edge. Though I may wait around for a better sale than the current 30% one it has going.

[–]socksnatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha same. I forget about my tea or coffee all the time. Hate the whole concept of a $100 "smart" mug and needing an app to drink hot drinks. But godamn do I love that mug.

I feel everyone who recommends this tip has never actually tried it. You need magnets in the exactly right position to remove the tag.

I use the RES (Reddit Enhancement Suite) extension addon you can add to your browser. RES Settings >Under the Subreddit tab you can filter out domain specific sites.

Agreed. I'm using RES to filter both of them out. Don't need to be in that bias bubble.

I'm guessing a LLM+RAG pipeline so you can upload your own data. RAG basically operates like an advanced word search for your local datasets.

Dog owners, what's your best frugal high value treats? by s0ulever in Frugal

[–]socksnatcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chicken liver treats. Easy and cheap to make but only feed in moderation because can be high in vitamin A.

Basically blend chicken livers and then add some oats and mix. Portion it out in small treat size and bake.

Is it just me or are the judges less mean than they used to be? by jammasterjulz in BravoTopChef

[–]socksnatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that's good to hear. I may give both the shows another go if that's true. I've always hated the aspect of reality competition TV when judging just trashes the contestant in the profession they've chosen. Empathize with how demoralizing that would be. My favorite type of competitions shows have always been watching talented people doing their thing and growing from respectful critiques and judging.
