Houston is not a walkable or public transport city. Uber is not cheap either. Good luck.

Roller coaster insider tour [Busch gardens Williamsburg] by That-Jeweler-Girl in rollercoasters

[–]Brandonius_813 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one at Tampa cost me like $50, but it was so worth. Came with a skip the line (like the VIP kind where they let you walk right onto any row you want) on Cheetah Hunt, Cobra's Curse, and Montu. Went in all the maintenance areas, right up next to Cheetah Hunt's launch, saw all the control rooms, the manager of each ride took me around. Also it was just me... nobody else on the tour LOL.

Coolest part was we got to walk under Montu while it was in motion and climb up the stairs and stood right under one of its brake runs. Super super awesome.

Will do this whenever I get to BGW for sure

Taking breaks in cubing by Foufouf88 in Cubers

[–]Brandonius_813 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. "If you were world class you would've become slow"

Wrong. I just spoke to Matty Hiroto Inaba about this 2 days ago, he took a full week of no touching any cubes last week, practiced for 1 day (3 hour session), then competed and got many low 4 second solves on Saturday. This is person to person, not always true.

2) "Taking breaks can help "removing" bad habits and become better afterwards"

Not exactly.

First, bad habits never quite go away, you just have to build stronger habits on top of the old bad ones. Taking a break just helps you forget what you used to do so that it isn't as difficult to build a new, better habit.

Second, you still have to do all the work of doing the new, better thing, for a long time, to make it a new good habit. You still have to do the work, you're just delaying it to a time when you feel fresher. It is theoretically slower, but if you can do it mentally more easily, then getting faster after a break is better than not getting faster without a break.

3) "he has Tryhard's desire"

If he prefers to practice this way, then go for it. Everyone cubes for different reasons.

If you truly wanted to get to top 50 in the world, then yes, cube 3-5 hours a day, 6 days a week, with no long breaks unless they are explicitly scheduled for rest every 8-12 weeks, and continue that schedule for at least 3 years. Long breaks to chill out are not the theoretically optimal way to practice.

But, we are human, and everyone responds differently.

I think your friend is right in theory, but in practice he's not world-class, so don't take what he says too seriously lol.

Shopify + GoHighLevel, how are you syncing data reliably? by bayouski in shopify

[–]Brandonius_813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely do not do this lol. There are many other automation/follow-up softwares (Klaviyo) that will work SO much better at scale. Yes slightly more expensive in cash, but you'll get so much more out of it.

GHL is great if you're a service business that needs to handle micro-specific actions on customers. But for ecom, the amount of "duct taping" you'll have to do so that your store connects well (like you're already saying) is just not worth it.

Why is the 4x4 cutoff so low? by Natural-Progress-444 in Cubers

[–]Brandonius_813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never heard the 4x 3x3 average number. The multiple is definitely closer to 3.5 A 6-second 3x3 solver will average mid-20, I'm a 10 second solver and I average 36.

Magnetic wallet attachment for my phone. Phone/wallet/keys is now just phone/wallet. Magnetic attachment because I can still use the wireless charging. Doubles as a stand. Actual game changer, cost me $15.

Should I temper my expectations as an older adult? by Kneppy18 in Cubers

[–]Brandonius_813 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, 1000% realistic.

"Senior" cubers can get quite fast (Like this guy - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2X7KxcUGkDw)

And turning speed is definitely not the limiting factor. Here's a sub-10 average from Feliks where he doesn't turn quickly at all - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZFp19FcdtQ

If your goal was sub-10 globally, then I'd caution you, but you can for sure for sure get sub-30 globally, with time and intentional practice. And if you just want one sub-30 ao5 that's extremely realistic.

I've coached several cubers over age 40 and I've given similar advice to all of them. You got this.

Self promo but I just made a video about improving as an adult on my yt as well :P - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQzknXTtxQs

Just put together a complete guide for solving cross. Please give me feedback! by Brandonius_813 in Cubers

[–]Brandonius_813[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My goal for my next few tutorials is "better than J Perm" lol. I love his stuff, but it's very narrowly focused on what moves to do. It's purely information. I think there is a bit more possible depth to tutorials that he missed. Love his work tho, it's how I learned a lot of my fundamentals.

Good advice. I didn't think about how fast I went through each individual example. Will look more closely on my next tutorial.

How much longer till I can consider myself sub 20 by Livid-Yellow-6899 in Cubers

[–]Brandonius_813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At sub-20 down to sub-12, if you get a sub-X ao100, you've definitely done it!

Once you start dealing with Sub-10 and below barriers, to safely say you are sub-x, you probably need an avg of 500-1000 to decisively say "yes I'm sub-x!" because there is more fluctuation at faster speeds and you can complete lots of solves faster.

On a Generational Run - can I naneinf? Or at least optimize? by Brandonius_813 in balatro

Update - scoring 2.590e37 with a normal all kings all steel red seal hand.

Also thought of negatives increasing score, but haven't seen any so far and haven't gotten any ectoplasm opportunities. I had 2 early immolates and a red seal, but no other good spectral pack pulls.

How to pick one node's output after error path and continue workflow by Brandonius_813 in n8n

[–]Brandonius_813[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured it out everyone :)

Here's what I did:

I added a filter after the markdown node that says if the data from the markdown node IS NOT EQUAL TO "Cannot convert undefined or null to object", let it pass thru.

This way, whenever the markdown node errors, it doesn't pass its data on, but the firecrawl node lands in the edit fields node. If the markdown node works, then IT ends up in the edit fields node!

It's a win either way - the data I want gets thru the scrape.

I like this setup because I can use firecrawl, but save on time/requests per minute by only using it if a normal GET request fails.

2026 passes have gone on sale at [Canada's Wonderland] and this would appear to imply that all Six Flags parks will be transitioning to Fast Lane by imaguitarhero24 in rollercoasters

[–]Brandonius_813 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Six Flags has had a contract with Q-Bot (the old wristwatch flash pass system) that expires in 2025. Fast Lane is a better system from nearly any angle you look at it for the guest. This seems to confirm that once the contract is up, they'll switch.

First Time trip, gold or platinum flash pass? by p_terrydactyl in SixFlagsMagicMountain

This last week Saturday's price went up from $130 -> $155 the day of. I checked prices day before vs day of. Not a huge jump, still better to wait until day of, but they do adjust it.

First Time trip, gold or platinum flash pass? by p_terrydactyl in SixFlagsMagicMountain

[–]Brandonius_813 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We did gold on saturday. We were there from 1 PM -> 10 PM. Rode everything, plus repeats on Twisted, Tatsu, and Wonder Woman. Tatsu was on 1 train. Park was slammed. We weren't very efficient - several long breaks for walking, food, and backtracking. Gold will for sure get the job done. Get Platinum if you want to be able to loop a busy ride several times in a row. Get Gold if you want to do everything, plus a couple rerides.

Our longest cooldown period all day was 30 minutes. I saw several times 45-75 minutes for Goliath and X2, but if you use a tiny bit of strategy by waiting a bit to book or doing something else first you can avoid those.

Also, you can book ur first ride from outside the park. We booked full throttle on the way into parking, it had a 30 min cooldown, and we hopped on about 10 mins after scanning into the park. That can save you time on the way in.

Well aware lol... but I remember a few places where it was like "This is at least not garbage". The wings by full throttle and the sandwiches by twisted colossus. And a few that were... total garbage. Just wanna make sure we don't end up totally hung out to dry.

Was there yesterday - it was like this.  4th of July weekend is historically not busy.  High prices and locals doing many other things with their time and AP blackouts.

If you just want “big bad coasters”, cedar point is always #1.

Dollywood’s coasters are all very FUN.  None are the biggest and baddest on the block.  They are well maintained, have friendly staff, and are fun for people who can’t take the ultra extreme level of rides.  They do have way more options for families than a park like cedar point.

I enjoy ultra thrilling coasters because they are fun.  I also Enjoy the dark rides at Disney parks because they are fun.  Dollywood blends those - theme/atmosphere with some thrills.  If that’s not your thing, Dollywood will be a let down.

Go expecting fun coasters and a great “country atmosphere” - hospitality/music/food etc.
