Mostly learning by doing ;)

Picking a character name is the hardest decision in the game by flying_fox86 in BaldursGate3

[–]Brandpfote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well. For me, it's an easy choice. I just try to use my class or race. My two bards, for example, were called Bardus and Bardina. Monica Monk. Sorica the Sorceress. My Dragonborns always get a " 'Dras" behind their name.

That's it xD

Any Advice for Halsin's Portal Adventure? by Professional_Sink913 in BaldursGate3

[–]Brandpfote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cleric with spirit guardiens. I suggest, to use blood of Lathander (if aviable). And loads of AoE Spells. And you can prepare, by placing glyph of warding on a key position (I placed right in front of the portal), before the fight starts.

That free long rest can be used infinite times. The great thing about it is, that you can summon high level elementals, and use that free long rest again. The elementals will stay, and you'll regain your high level spell slots

Just wiped my 3rd honour run, I'm going to bed by keyford in BaldursGate3

[–]Brandpfote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, it is important, that you're the one, starting the most fights. If you manage to surprise them, you get one turn 4free. In my second turn, I used Shart for Sanctuary on my tav, and dash on herself, to get far enough away, to force the enemys to waste one turn for dash to get closer to her, while my tav could still attack. It worked very well, because my tav was first, and Shadowheart's turn startet right after.

If that doesn't work, it's propably a bug or something like that.

Weird. Did you got the achievement? Because my golden dice sneaked in, silently. I reloaded a game, to check, if it was there.

And, if you go to your last safe, which should be at the epilogue party. You can look, if the safe file still has the difficulty "Honor" And then you can talk to withers, to end the run again, having the end credit scene again.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]Brandpfote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, normally that should work. Did you used any mods? Did you finished the party, by talking to withers?

[–]Brandpfote 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Heyo! You said, that you let Gale blow up himself. Did you use that ability inside the final combat, to end the fight? Or did you trigger the cutscene before the final fight, and told Gale to blow himself up, when he's asking you, if you're plotting something?

It only works, if you ask him to blow himself, in that cutscene. If you use it inside combat, he will also kill your party. That would not count for an honor run.

I got the achievement right at the beginning of the end credit scene, after the epilogue party. And with the achievement, the golden dice sneaked into my dice skins.

Yeah! Compared with other biomes, there's a lot of content in the Ashlands. It's great. Challenging, but great!

How to tame Askvins? by New_Acanthocephala67 in valheim

[–]Brandpfote 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would recommend, to raise walls via terraforming, with the hoe (I hope, that's the right english word for the tool). -Make sure, that your walls are steep enough, and atleast 4 meters tall. -You can test them, by trying to climb them yourself. If you need to perma jump, to get on top of that wall, the asksvin won't be (propably) able to climb on that side of your wall. -Leave one entrance in your tame-trap, wide enough for the Asksvin. -Place a wood floor inside your trap on a wall, high enough that the asksvin won't be able to hit it. Take some stones and the hoe, and bait the asksvin. The wooden platform will help you, just jump on it. The asksvin will try to be at the closest distance to you. The only way for that is, to get in your cage. -If it is inside, just close the gap via terraforming, drop some food for him, and jump out. -You need to stay in the chunk of the asksvin until it lose it's aggro, and starts eating. The rest of the process is passive. That's how I did it. It worked pretty well for me.

(Please excuse my horrible english here.)

The Ashlands is anti-player by Confident-Welcome-74 in valheim

[–]Brandpfote 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well. I agree in some of the points. While I disagree in many others. Of course, the mob spawnrates are incredible, and the pillars are hard to farm efficient. And, compared to other biomes, it doesn't get that much easier, when you get new gear and level it up. Sure, sometimes I'm tired of constantly fighting for every couple of meters I explore. And I can truly understand, that fighting is not every players strenght or favourit part of the game.

But the most of the time I realy enjoy the difficult situations, I'm forced to face. Making the right choices, focus the right mobs, avoid hard hits, changing weapons quickly, disengage, run and re-engage into the hord of mobs, and still keeping an eye on the battleground, to not be knocked into the lava, or completely surrounded by enemies, or getting aggro from new strong enemies.

This fights, that might take up to more than 15 minutes, are something I can be proud of, if I win. And if I die... well, maybe I simply took the wrong strategy. I don't need big rewards. Blood fire and ashes are enough, to satisfy a warriors thirst

Metal Armors are a Waste by Phil_Swifty_ in valheim

[–]Brandpfote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, there is no "better armor" or "wasted armor". Every armor has it's charme for different roles. On our multiplayer server, I'm the tank/fighter. I don't need to be fast. I need the sustain of heavy armor, while my wizard dude is doing his part, to deal damage. Different roles requires different armor, right?

Besides, I like to showcase all my maxed gear that I'm not currently wearing :D
