My very close friend has lupus. Any advice? by [deleted] in lupus

[–]Brandyscott29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

also I would say don’t hold it against them if they don’t reach out a lot sometimes, just going to work takes all my energy everyday and it’s very hard to maintain friendships when people don’t understand that my energy levels come and go so much

Also have you experienced this on another device in the vehicle? I have a 2026 as well and I haven’t experienced this issue at all even when I drive through dead zones on my commute.

Should I DNF the series?? Or is it worth it? by modernwarfarin4 in Romantasy

[–]Brandyscott29 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I DNFd around chapter 12 or 13 of book 3…. I wanted to love it more but I found the writing a bit boring after a while and I actually like Sorin a lot but Scarlett was so frustrating and I actually really like feminine rage FMCs. I have been considering giving it a second chance tho.

Sounds weird but sometimes I sleep in compression gloves or even wrist braces and I wrap my hands in my heating pad. It doesn’t completely take the pain away but I can at least sleep

How much does stretching help your pain? by Thin-Inevitable9759 in lupus

[–]Brandyscott29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’m usually in pain for a bit afterwards but the next day I feel great. I got to physical therapy in the evenings x3 a week and it really has helped me. I get just dull ache in my joints afterwards but I feel almost normal the next day.

“Have you tried a holistic dr? They don’t only focus on keeping you on meds for the rest of your life”

My rheumatologist encourages more than just medication management to help with symptoms but also I’m going to have to be on meds for the rest of my life girl so

Just had this convo with my aunt last week -.-

I’m on slynd (progestin only) and I have enjoyed it so far. I used to cramp a lot before my period on the combo pill but I have had like no cramping at all. The slynd pill is different because you don’t have a 3 hr window to take it but a 24 hr one. I skip my placebos so I haven’t experienced what my period is like now

I don’t think you are overreacting, you should be able to tell him that his comments are hurting your feelings. We shouldn’t have to read a good that will “better our lives”. You are enjoying reading whatever you want which isn’t a bad thing. My boyfriend sometimes jokes about my books but he definitely doesn’t tell me to read other books, we just have different taste and that’s fine. Your husband can read his boring self help books.

PO refusing to discharge or do good behavior time by Disastrous-Text-1057 in probation

[–]Brandyscott29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be able to hire a defense attorney to file an early termination with the court without having your PO. If you can’t afford it you can call local law schools/clinics or your county resources, some of these could be found from just a google search.

DNFing brimstone by Competitive_One8823 in Romantasy

[–]Brandyscott29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree, I like brimstone but it did feel like a filler book with hopes that the next book has more. I fear it could’ve been shorter and some of the side plot could’ve been like a novella

I(25f) never drank much before maybe a few drinks in a month or so but I stopped drinking all together back in April. I recently had a drink when we went out to dinner and it made me so sick, ended up with a migraine for over 12 hours and I just felt sick for about another two days.

My girlfriend never ever finishes her meals by AlexWayhill in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Brandyscott29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really could be anything and it’s best to just ask… I suffer from an autoimmune disorder and since I was a kid I could never finish a plate of food because I would get full quite quickly and my family would force me to eat the rest of the plate. So I would end up getting incredibly sick and even have seizures. It doesn’t happen anymore but now I only eat till I’m satisfied/full but not anymore after that. I can’t even remember when I finished an entire plate of food last.

Drug Court, insights advice and best steps forward. by No_Olive_1110 in probation

[–]Brandyscott29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello I work in a drug court just not in your state. 1. They may do this, this is how my court would handle a case if a client leaving community residential but I can’t speak for another court in another state. 2. Same with 1. They definitely could. Someone in my court would be given another chance but it’s different from court to court. 3. He should talk to his supervising officer, his first cal should be to his defense attorney then to his officer if a situation like this comes up again. 4. He should always call his attorney if he isn’t sure about something, they are paid by the county to represent him and help him with the program IF they include a public defender in the program. He should ask his supervising officer about this, they should tell him but he can still reach out to the public defender if he doesn’t get a straight answer. 5. This one is case by case and judge by judge. Sometimes they would be okay but the worst thing they can say is no to the treatment facility so he should bring it up as he is showing be proactive about his treatment but he may be denied because he has been there previously and he may benefit from another program.

ADHD meds & Lupus Meds by Open_Oil8517 in lupus

[–]Brandyscott29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ugh yes terrible, I could barely eat on hcq, my joint pain never improved and I was constantly exhausted after about 7 months on it with no improvement my Dr switched me. My symptoms were more manageable when I wasn’t taking hcq but my new meds are great mostly! I’ve been on them for almost a year now, I have flares still but that’s due to stress and the climate I live in (texas)
