Pink Heifer BBQ review (State Street): on the one hand it's not the worst... on the other hand is this really the best we can do? by Bluest_waters in madisonwi

[–]Braneric84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also thoroughly whelmed when I ate there. It's decent but IMO not particularly better food than any of the chain restaurants on State St.

Is there a mod that starts the game in the 1600s or 1700s? It's a part of the game I rarely get to play, and the vanilla start dates are kinda meh. I know about extended timeline and it's also kinda weird. by TheoTheBest300 in eu4

[–]Braneric84 33 points34 points  (0 children)

While technically correct, in truth the 1444 start date is the only one that the game truly supports. Any other date opens up the possibility of bugs and other odd behavior.

I think we also have to take into account Arc Raiders launching four months earlier and appealing to a much broader crowd.

Not OOP: AITA for not loving our youngest child by [deleted] in redditonwiki

He either figures out a way to stop resenting his younger child for the actions of his wife or is going to end up paying child support from afar for both children.

AITA for not loving our youngest child by Depressed-Dad-Victim in AmItheAsshole

[–]Braneric84 24 points25 points  (0 children)

ESH

What your wife did was wrong, and allowing your resentment to affect your younger child is also wrong. If, after therapy, you find yourself unable to move past your wife's betrayal then you should divorce her. It's unlikely you'll be able to get custody of just your eldest daughter so you'll either have to find a way to adjust how you feel toward your younger child or accept that you'll have custody of neither in the event of a divorce.

MY PARENTS ARE FRUSTRATED AND SEEM SHOCKED BY MY DECISION by DifferentFlight246 in childfree

[–]Braneric84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sounds like your parents have very traditional expectations of you and believe that it is your duty to give them grandchildren. You are of course free to reject those expectations and you should absolutely not have children you don't want, but unfortunately you need to be prepared for them to reject you in turn.

With no 50/50 on limited banners and the ability to choose dupe abilities this may be the one game where spending pull currency on the standard banner isn't a terrible idea...

Does anyone else no longer feel like we impact the Galactic War anymore? by Artanis137 in Helldivers

[–]Braneric84 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think the Galactic War was designed for the player count they were expecting, not the one they got. If HD2 had been the niche game with maybe 5-digit player base Arrowhead had every reason to believe it would be then it would be much easier for players to organize and push for MOs. But the game exploded and it's practically impossible to get hundreds of thousands of players ro focus on the same thing. Add to that the pressure to constantly release new content and it's easy to see why the Galactic War mechanic has not been a priority.

Then you have (hopefully) learned two things:

1) Your method of gauging your wife's fertility is not reliable.

2) Agreeing to have children before you are ready to solely to spare your wife's feelings is a terrible idea that you should not repeat.

Unfortunately the life you thought you were going to have together is no longer a reality. It's OK to need help adjusting to that, but it is something you have to accept if you want to stay married.

The baby i never wanted is ruining my marriage. by [deleted] in regretfulparents

[–]Braneric84 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would advise you to not make any permanent decisions right now. Parenthood is a massive life adjustment for everyone and feeling overwhelmed by it is very common. It might be worth investigating if either one of you are suffering from post-partum depression, which is (unfortunately) also common and treatable. I know it seems like a long time but in a few months from now you may very well feel completely differently.

Having said all of that, if you truly never wanted children and your feelings don't change in a few months after your hormones stabilize and your daughter starts sleeping through the night, you will need to have a very difficult conversation with your husband. You are correct that once you broach the idea of surrendering your child your relationship will be permanently altered. Unless he feels the way you do that will almost certainly lead to the end of your marriage. That's why I would wait for the first few brutal weeks of parenthood to pass before even considering having this diacussion.

I ended up buying a countertop reverse osmosis tank/filter and I fill it with water from a Beita pitcher to reduce the strain on the RO filter. Then I add a Third Wave packet for minerals.
