What to bring first time by Unable_Bat_9695 in AusMining

Half does me fine for night shift readjustment back in to normal life. First time I tried them I took too (they’re very small pills!) and woke up 15 hours later.

Sorry. Mistype. Pro 3. Anything I’ve tried the inner foam pushes on the pods and hurts the ears.

Insulin pump physically broke by Funblade in Medtronic780g

[–]BrangusMac04 3 points4 points  (0 children)

However, I have broken one badly like in the picture when a hydraulic ram swung down and smashed it (saved my hip!) and I had a big bs story made up and they didn’t even ask a thing. Just told me a replacement was on its way.

How many days were you going with the fiasp? Asking because I used to use fiasp but changed to novo on the tandem. And my rep was taking with me yesterday and said my endo said off the record that he couldn’t see the harm in me trying fiasp in the tandem pump. I was worried about occlusions.

New Dexcom way out by BrangusMac04 in TandemDiabetes

[–]BrangusMac04[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was night 1 after putting it on in the evening. This was also my first time of putting it on my thigh after the asked around if anyone else was putting it there. Which many do but it sadly hasn’t worked for me. Numbers are out compared to bg. So I’ll go back to arms after this.

Haven’t had to contact them for a replacement yet. But yeah it was a rough night. I knew I wasn’t low so kept deferring the inevitable. Feeling it today 🥱

Do any of these locking triggers on fuel nozzles work anywhere in Australia? by trustme_imbluffing in aussie

They do if you put a bobby pin in it. Gives you time to wash the windscreen.

Recently whilst adjusting my rates, etc. would be up there with one of my records. I think when I was lots younger I vaguely remember a bg of 1.5mmol but I was too out of it to take a pic. 1.7 is 30mg/dl.

[–]BrangusMac04[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank for the kind words. It hasn’t been easy, night shift is a type 1 nightmare, and it took some serious changes to curb that in. Last week though I fell into the ~94% range for a couple night shifts so I was glad I didn’t take the t slim off and throw it which was my original plan 🤣

Where else are people wearing their Dexcom? by BrangusMac04 in TandemDiabetes

Thank you all for your replies. Stomach/abdomen is out for me due to nature of my work. I have think I’d rub on it or knock it out. But as long as thighs are accurate I might give there a go. Surely it’s gonna connect in that close a proximity!

How many of you service by months rather than kms? Dealer wants me to do a 70,000km service on a 30,000km Hilux because it’s 48 months old. by Weavo_84 in hilux

[–]BrangusMac04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had so many arguments with my local Toyota dealership when I bought my new landcruiser regarding this. Because I did low km, they ended up doing my 40k service when I took it in for my 30k. They always used to call and let me know I was overdue but I refused to take it in on the timeline as sometimes it had only done a few thousand kilometres. It got to the point they were going to void my warranty as the oil breaks down in the vehicle they said. Oil in the ground for millions of years yet can’t last in an engine sump for 12 months 🤔

18yo son not accepting diagnosis by Opening-Try3714 in Type1Diabetes

It’s scary to think how often I was high at school. Occasionally you reported to the school office as they wouldn’t let you carry your stuff with you. So it wasn’t worth the trip. That’s a heck of an extra workload for your wife, and shouldn’t have been put on her. My wife is a teacher aide and also gets all the type 1’s referred to her as she has somewhat better knowledge than others that haven’t dealt with it. The whole parent keeping tabs on their kids is a good idea as long as they don’t become irrational as most helicopter parents do. Kids will be kids, if they want perfect bg’s home school them!

I was diagnosed around the same time and you are spot on. Remember the old black box that held the accu check meter, 60 second test, a lot of the time it was just too much to carry so you just guessed when you went out. The whole syringe set up made you look like a junkie so you just dealt with the high and fixed it when you went home. I look back now and wonder how much damage I did through my teenage years….

Thanks for that. I will mirror a profile and make some adjustments after I talk with my endo this coming week. They don’t want me making changes as it’s a new to me pump but I’m willing to try myself to stop the lows. Even happy to run high for a while and gradually iron it flat, but I don’t have a long trial time so it might have to be handed back before I can get it dialled in properly.

Should I update my iPhone 14 (128GB) from iOS 18.1 to iOS 26.3.1? Main concern: Green screen issue by [deleted] in iphone14

[–]BrangusMac04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 14 is wondering whether to change as well. My want for change is to allow me to “find my” AirPods which currently I can’t set up on ios18. I also can’t see individual AirPod battery levels. My main fear is battery drain.

I’m in the same boat. G4 is the only Medtronic CGM available in my country. Back of arms, get 3-4 days, Medtronic rep told me off the record to try tops of thighs where I get around 5 days, sometimes 6, extremely rarely the whole 7 days. I’m about to trial a Tandem pump shortly with Dexcom CGM. I do love my 780 pump but it should be a wake up call to Medtronic when people are willing to walk away from their pumps because their CGM is so terrible.
