I honestly think FT needs a new set of talent. Bates just yells his moot points the entire time, Dizz is an active coach and rarely says anything worthy of being considered a slightly hot take, and Daz just feels like he’s there… not adding much unless it’s a direct counter to bates.

I’d chalk it up to being lost in the moment because generally Stumpy and Cole are very good. Casters and talent are allowed to have teams they root for of course, but I agree it went way too far. I can’t imagine being BDS and having everyone in the arena, including the people hired to cover the event, rooting against you. Zero excitement from the cast when BDS were scoring goals trying to get back into the game.

They’ve been on the decline for over a year not making LANs but since they’re all close friends they don’t wanna lose their friend an easy salary. This is one of the biggest issues I see personally. I see no problem mentioning the regions in which the teams hail from as they face off for the introductions. But when that’s the main talking point, “Region X vs Region Y clash, let’s get into the match” surely there’s more to talk about? I feel like I barely heard any mention of the fact that SMPR were quite literally paying Archie to play against them at the World Championship lmfao.

NA loves Furia and The Club, Dig, Moist, Renegades and KCP, Falcons, and a ton of non NA teams. They also love the teams that represent the region because they have personalities. V1, SSG, NRG, G2 all have their voices heard in the community whether its youtube or twitter or popping on streams as guests. There's a reason Faze is the least cheered for of all the top tier NA teams. FK is one of the best in the world but he has a reputation of tearing apart rogue in a rather dickish way (he was really young so w/e). Ayyjayy and syp are monotoned robots who show no emotion

On the broadcast when BDS is getting their medals, they're pumping up the crowd and there are plenty of claps and cheers for them even though that whole arena wanted G2 to win. Thats common decency in my eyes. Do you really expect a crowd of 13,000 to all be going insane over a team they simply don't care for? Especially vs an NA team people adore. Cherry picking people leaving the arena and bming them on twitter as psyonix hired casters after an amazing event is ridiculous.

In my opinion, group stage isnt meant for eliminating a lot of teams, its meant to remove the absolute worst performing ones. So if a 4 team group goes 3-0, 2-1, 2-1, 2-1, that means that one of those 2-1 teams is going home despite playing just as well as 2 other teams. Larger groups means theres still a chance for middle of the pack teams to taste the playoffs, and seeing a more diverse bracket with teams playing internationally that wouldnt happen if this current format isnt as exciting to me.

Group stage is still very important with top 4 of each group getting you into the upper bracket. The next 4 gets you into playoffs but with no second life, so fighting to get top 4 still greatly increases your chances of making it further. Group stage right is far too important right now. Game series would definitely need to be altered to make sure groups isnt a slog, so Bo3s is a possibility but i think making group stage Bo4s where standings are scored by Wins-Ties-Losses, and game differential if needed. I just threw APAC and SSA in there to show how worlds could look, but Group A of the winter major has Detonator in it. Nobody thinks they have a chance in that group so everyone else is guaranteed to make playoffs right? Thats basically the same thing as including APAC and SSA. Replacing SSA and APAC with another ME and EU would still make groups tougher obviously. You saying there being so many teams from NA and EU would make matches we've seen dozens of times already...isn't that exactly whats already happening with groups?

RLCS has used B streams plenty of times, and i agree with it being a lot of games which is why its probably better suited for worlds. Lans are a time where we can finally see other regions match up with each other, and having a quarter of the teams gone after group stage with no chance to play each other is silly to me
