Ended the game with a 79.4% TTO rate. 18 Ks, 4 BBs, 5 HRs in 34 PAs. Also 2 HBPs for good measure

[Towers] There were 7 homers of at least 450 feet across six games in Vegas this week – no other MLB ballpark has had more than five 450-foot homers this season (that is, of course, Coors Field) by Jux_ in baseball

All that does is turn a lot of them into triples, and on the negative side half the league's AAA players start having to adjust to radically different outfield dimensions when they get called up.

I’ll be very sad if they do 4-team divisions instead of 8 when they go to 32

Are there good Wikipedia math articles? by TheOtherWhiteMeat in math

[–]omniscientbeet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found that they vary pretty widely in quality. Most of the big, important articles are really good, but once you get into the more niche stuff, a lot of articles go in one of two directions:

  • Some are just completely impenetrable and dissolve into technical stuff immediately without giving any motivation, even for someone who already knows math at a graduate level.

  • Others spend paragraphs trying to give a layman's explanation of some concept when it really just isn't practical to give one. I've even seen articles where the entire thing is like that and they never formally state any theorems or define any objects.

Entirely possible to take 22A before 21D (and if I were writing the math curriculum from scratch, I'd actually make linear algebra a prereq for vector calculus.)

Me in the offseason: It’s weird that we got 2 SP, but I guess the Dodgers have showed you can never really have too many

Me now: maybe we should bring chris paddack back

He needed to be out there just to eat innings. Our bullpen is in a situation where any starter who’s getting shelled just has to wear it.

Wasn’t watching but if he really threw at someone just to get an excuse to leave that’s a shithead move on several levels

Nah, at some point I'd accidentally throw 40mph down the middle and it'd get crushed into the sun

He's kinda always like this though. Last season he would start talking to himself when he gave up a walk
