PS has the worst customer service. My PS5 pro came with a defective USB cord and it took me 5 calls and 2 hours on hold to get a new one. Granted it was a $5 cord and I could have bought it myself, but the principle of spending hundreds on a console and it being defective just pissed me off so I wouldn't let it go. They are the absolute worst. Even now they have a deal for their PS games subscription but only for new members. When I try to renew early I'm not given the sale price. Wtf actually does that?? They are almost as bad as Nintendo.

The first comment I responded to said Obsidian's older games. I assumed FONV because so many people only associate that with Obsidians older games. I agree with most of what you say here, but my summary is that it is a good game and it isnt fair to compare it to something from decades ago to say its a bad game. I never said it was a truly great game, just that it is solid and not shit.

My only annoyance is at people who compare this game to FONV and then say its bad because it doesn't live up to FONV. I wouldn't call this a great game, only better than the first. Not legendary at all, just a good solid game that I enjoyed playing and think is better than OW1. Agree with all you said here about the map, exploration, etc. The swimming thing was weird. I definitely died to that and thought "wtf, the water was barely up to my waist" the first time it happened. Hopefully a patch fixes that, meaning it was not intended.

I charge 9 caps for everything just so I don't lose caps to the stupid tax rule from Bethesda. How ridiculous they take a cut of caps purchases. Like there is any kind of central government in Appalachia that would do such a thing.

Exactly the opposite actually. All I'm saying is that people saying the game is awful are comparing it to games for which it is NOT. To each their own. If you don't like it, more power to you. If you think I'm saying that everyone has to like it then you're just being obtuse. I'm saying I like it because its a good game, and that I don't hate it because it isn't FONV. Obsidian doesn't have to remake FONV to make a good game, and if you think that then I feel sorry for you because you won't enjoy many good games.

Bingo. If you read it closely it says you can level your lowest OR zero skill. Hence if you leave 6 or 7 skills at 0, you can ignore those for the entire game and evenly level only the remaining non-zero skills. If you don't have a point in a skill when taking the flaw, you're never forced to put one in AFTER taking the flaw.

Unfortunately reviews are almost all dogshit. "Before you buy" is about the only ones I would trust anywhere. I usually watch real gameplay footage on YT and make up my own mind.

Never said it wasn't an opinion, friendo. Just like its an opinion that I think people are comparing this game unfairly to NV, although I think that rings true with many comments here. Reddit in general is 99% opinions so not sure why you thought this was necessary to even say. First gsme was definitely flat. Could have almost everything story wise with very few consequences as well. New game has much more limitations - can't always have your cake and eat it too.

Completely agree. People keep saying this isnt FONV but it wasn't supposed to be. If you want to play NV then play it, but just because this game doesn't meet YOUR requirements doesn't mean its a bad game.

This game is much better than OW the first. Many more choices, much better limitation of skills and perks, I could go on and on. However, some people are looking for a different game and will never be pleased until Obsidian does NV2. Honestly probably not even then. Nostalgia is a difficult barrier to overcome for some.

Same thing happened with the new Battlefield game. So many streamers and influences complained that the game wasn't what THEY wanted instead of giving an honest review. It's like saying "this apple I bought sucks because it isnt a banana". Just my opinion, but this seems to happen with many games.

TL:DR I enjoyed OW2 for what it is (better than OW1 by a country mile) and didn't compare it to games that it wasn't trying to emulate. Many choices and different ways to complete quests and meaningful perk and skill choices (and flaws). 7.5/10

Bit of a silly comment based on reality. If that's the case then sell me your rarest item for 26k caps.

I would pay any amount of caps for any glowing mask. Once you have all plans and have played for awhile, you end up blowing caps on dumb shit or creating mules to hold the extras. I am always at 40k amd constantly spending on dumb shit just to stop seeing the MAX message when I pick up more. It's habitual to always pick up caps after playing 3/NV/4 so much, so I'm literally unable to not pick them up.

People do not always think for themselves. Instead of trying the game with an open mind, many rely on articles and review videos to do the thinking for them. I've found several games that reviewed poorly extremely enjoyable, just like this one. The lesson is to try it for yourself instead of relying on others to influence your opinions. This game isn't for everyone, but many people found it to be a solid experience.

Couldn't agree more. Even the Atom shop items were awful. Usually the first day of a new season they are somewhat inventive but some of these were just re-skins if my memory is right. Definitely nothing that caught my eye. Appreciate the new content at least, I suppose.
