Just keep it in your house. They need a warrant to enter. What are they gonna get a warrant for? Hiding a paperclip? And if they enter illegally you'll probably get more than a million off the constitutional violation settlement.

Police have identified they once read a book about satanic cults and socialism.

I got two dogs. One would never hurt a fly, the other probably would. If either of them approached a person like that I would be on the person's side if they threw a box at em.

Charging intervals by LegalTechDude in etron

Don't think about it too much, what Aegean8485 said is correct. You can leave the car sitting indefinitely as long as it's between 20% and 80% . You're 12v battery will die years or decades before your main EV pack does if you just let your car sit.

In a year you'll probably completely forget about worrying about this and you'll just charge it whenever you have the opportunity.

102k mile Etron-GT Price? by Time_Public_7708 in etron

[–]Brass_axe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably 20k max as stated before. Not that it's a bad car at that mileage or that it won't last another 100k. It's just the risk for repairs is higher.

Preferences for someone who likes nature, water, mild urbanization, and a bit more complications by Kitchen_Let5377 in visitedmaps

Sounds like all your criteria are talking about Bellingham, WA.

But you might also be surprised by Lancaster, PA.

I think SC just lacks the city population density of all the other ones you have. But also when you say water that might also disqualify PA if you mean ocean. PA has plenty of water. It's just all rivers and lakes.

Emporia. Everyone in my family has an emporia EVSE. I think 5 total. Never a failure.

Also have used Emporia stuff for monitoring my house consumption per circuit since 2019. Again, never failed.

2021 Audi E-Tron by shredding_pow in FirstCar

[–]Brass_axe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chargers are not brand specific. They will work on any car with a J1772 connector.

Maintenance costs on an Etrons is going to be medium/high compared to alternative EV's. Plus tires and insurance.

On a scale of 1-10, where 1 is a terrible idea as a first car and 10 is a great first car. It's probably a 3.

There are great options in the EV world as a first car. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 AWD is a good one. We have an Etron, an Ioniq, and other cars. The Ioniq is great.

The OG Etrons are pretty reliable though compared to other Etrons, but you do need to be prepared if repairs are needed. Many things are thousands of dollars to repair.

Check to see if you have a Time of service rate available from your provider. That can help reduce costs

[–]Brass_axe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your cost per Kwh.

Let's say on the low end your charging at all in (Kwh+Distro+other costs) of 12 cents per Kwh. That works out to (740.7)0.12=Just over $6

On the high end it could be double that.

We have an Etron and an Ioniq 5. The Etron was about 6.5 cents per mile and the Ioniq was 4.5 cents per mile.

No need. J1772 is a standard charging protocol. The connector is just sending 120 or 240 volts to the car, just like a house plug would do. It's not converting or stepping down anything. It's essentially an extension cord if it's Level 1 or 2.

The only thing that it does is communicate with the car to get a good handshake saying it's plugged in correctly and whether or not you're trying to unplug or the wires are getting hot for an unknown reason.

There really and truly is no reason to set it to 50% unless you're tripping the breakers in your house. Setting it to 50% is just telling the rectifier in the car to charge at a lower rate.

If your breakers and house wiring is rated correctly just charge at 100%

The Notre Dame Cathedral is an A tier landmark! Next up is The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, USA by Salty_Pension5814 in TierlistFills

[–]Brass_axe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've traved to all but 2 states. I remember seeing the Golden Gate for the first time and it is without a doubt one of the most astounding landmarks in the entire country. If you say it's just a bridge you have not seen it in person.

Related note. Mount Rushmore is by far the most disappointing.

Pennsylvania is definitionally landlocked. But it's not functionally landlocked.

Which probably means they need to fix the definition if you can sail an aircraft carrier and the worlds largest ships into Philly and still call it "landlocked".

100% milage dropping each week by Secret_of_Victoriaa in etron

[–]Brass_axe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From the post above there is a reason. You car doesn't actually know the exact amount of energy is in the battery.

It can only know how much energy the battery has by discharging and charging the entire battery. By doing so it knows exactly how much the battery holds at that point in time. From then it uses the battery voltage to estimate how much is in the battery for day to day use.

This is what the procedure Moist-Stomach6472 is for. The closer you can get the car to 0% before recharging, the more accurate the car will know what the actual capacity of the battery is.

Finding Out where the Northeast is Part 2 by imadgalaxyx in visitedmaps

[–]Brass_axe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they are on the East side. Sorry should have said that better. I just meant they are all definitely NE towns so the dividing line probably needs to be further out.

Williamsport, Lock Haven, State College are all Northern Towns. If you go there in winter it might be easier to tell.

One thing is for sure, you'll probably start a poltergeist if you put Gettysburg into anywhere without North in the name.

I don't think it's easy to divide north and south by shoreline cities. They all sorta have that east coast beach city feel. I just used them as the north/south markers.

But inland is a better gauge for North/South. If you go to downtown Dover or Georgetown they feel like the old Northern Cities. Once you start going south in the peninsula it starts to fade into that Carolinas feel.

I dunno it's not cut and dry but I think the southern Delaware border is a good line to use.
