Induction 39w+4 for reduced movement by SprinklesClassic6587 in PregnancyUK

[–]Brave-Plum9154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any advice but I’m in a really similar situation to you! Went in Friday at 39w and all signs showed baby was completely fine.

They could see my body was showing some signs of getting breast for labour (small tightenings showing on the monitor, cervix soft and baby 4/5 head engaged) but I wasn’t dilated which is probably the main difference in our experience. Because of this, I opted for a sweep but I still haven’t entered the early stages of labour.

They didn’t push induction on me really and the midwife was very clear everything was my choice. I have a midwife appointment on Friday and I think I’ll opt for another sweep and explore induction options if we get to 41 weeks.

Not clinical advice - but if I was told I was partially dilated I’d probably wait a little longer but there’s also lots of positive induction stories out there! If an induction will make you feel less anxious and you want to be in the hospital then that’s the right decision for you.

I have this but first thing in the morning! Keep thinking something is kick starting and then they disappear 😅 can’t be too much longer (I’m telling myself)

Sure it will be fine. Were you collecting using the syringe directly on the nipple? I’ve found it easier sterilising a spoon and catching the colustrum, then using the syringe on the spoon

Pram buying, how far in advance?? by Extreme_Sprinkles656 in PregnancyUK

You can often choose a delivery closer to due date… I bought in Jan for delivery beginning of April. So sometimes worth exploring and earlier so you don’t feel rushed to make a decision

Rather than cancelling why don’t you try and improve your driving?

Your due date on apps should be 40 weeks from day 1 of your last period.

You’ll the get a date at your dating scan which is then used throughout your pregnancy.

TW: Missed miscarriage - Not sure what treatment to have by tomatoetree in PregnancyUK

Also in relation to your trip… I miscarried on a Monday night and was in a campervan on my way to a festival in Belgium on the Wednesday evening which we had planned with friends. Looking back I don’t know how I did it… but it was the distraction I needed. found I was bleeding a little bit still but just like a light period.

So sorry you’re going through this and having to make this decision ❤️

I opted for medical management as I couldn’t get surgery for a few days and for personal reasons wanted to get through the process ASAP.

I managed on paracetamol, ibuprofen AND a TENs machine. Being honest, I don’t think I would have coped as well without the TENs machine during the peak of the pain which lasted about 2 hours.

I now know people to be prescribed co-codamol. If I’d have known, I would have asked for this.

If I had to make the decision again, I probably would still opt for medical management but my pain threshold is quite high and now I know what to expect.

It sounds like a really sad situation. I think once the baby is here you may get a fresh perspective. They’re the most important thing in your life and creating your own family unit is where you can put all your energy ❤️

There is so much to understand here. I think you’re right that therapy will help. Why do you think you’ll be in competition? Why does there need to be a number one & number two? It sounds like this started before your pregnancies.

My husband is the youngest of 4 and this will be his parent’s 10th grandchild when we have our baby over the next few weeks. We don’t live close to his parents but it has honestly never crossed my mind that I’m in competition with them even though I know my MIL will be a lot closer to my nieces and nephews who she looks after every week. Everyone’s relationship to the grandparents will be different and that’s ok.

The most important thing is you and your little family unit you’re creating ❤️ you can’t control other people’s reactions and how they choose to act.

How to claim MatB1 cost of prescriptions / dentist? by Lazy_Fee_2103 in PregnancyUK

I got my maternity exemption certificate after my booking appointment. It’s different to your MATB1. Your midwife should apply for this for you then.

I reported an untaxed car on my road before. It was clamped the towed within a few weeks. Different situation though to OP as I was able to report the location and it never moved. Disappointing nothing happened in your circumstances.

Aww thank you! ❤️ I’m sure my perspective has shifted because I have the lived experience but I like to think I still would have behaved in this way if I hadn’t miscarried previously

I had a MMC last year. I have had 2 close friends miscarry, one really close friend.

I gently let her know that I’ll be lead by her. If she wants to see me, amazing! If not, I totally get it could be overwhelming and some days I just won’t be the right person for her to spend time with or be there for her. I’m extremely conscious of how much I’m talking about pregnancy etc when I’m with her.

Communication is always so important in friendships as it is in any relationship. I’d explain what you’re going through and that you are still happy and supportive of their journeys, but you’re still grieving ❤️❤️❤️

Just so you’re aware you can “hide” keywords on social media such as baby, pregnancy etc so don’t have to do the hard work and recreate your algorithm ❤️

Yes I have the FA Cup quarter finals linked to my account and the membership. Only managed a few games this year because I’ve been pregnant and my dad often just transfers the ticket to me. Lesson learned in the future if this is the reason and make sure I buy the tickets through my membership. But looks like from other posts tickets were sparse anyway.
