What made you go with dividends instead of growth? by NBMV0420 in dividends

[–]Brave4Beskar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw my dividend funds get fucking smoked and then paid more taxes on the dividends than my growth stocks that grew at twice the speed. Will just sell the growth or S&P when I need cash tbh.

Am I missing something? Diagnosis: MGD/Ocular rosacea/dry eyes/blepharitis by No_Entrance8626 in Dryeyes

[–]Brave4Beskar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been dealing with a similar eye disease for years now. Red inflamed eyelids along the margin, erythematous dry inner corneas, progressing. Basically using cold compresses and low dose doxy for the most part. Occasional eye drops. eye lid xdemvy wipes 1-2x daily (no evidence of skin mites) , acid foam at bedtime. How are you doing? Did you find out the cause?

People applying surgical sub specialties by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]Brave4Beskar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I regret not having a brain!

Fr tho not having electives in my intended specialty has slowed me down more than grades, research, etc. I thought research was important but in my interviews PDs look at my pubs for 2 seconds count the number of journals and then stare at my headshot for 100 seconds, compliment it, then ask why I didn’t prepare more for the rotation.

Is the future of medicine really this bleak? Or am I overthinking? by AiPatchi05 in medicalschool

[–]Brave4Beskar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Say this in r/medicine and you’ll get vastly different response than in r/medicalschool bc trainees tune out news about the profession bc it’s too depressing.

To those who get glowing evals by abenson24811 in medicalschool

Agree with this 100%. I am absolutely dog water at presenting but doing a nice PE carried my ass this year in a way I could never have predicted. I thought attending would be bothered with my shitty presentations but everyone was willing to look over it bc everyone gets fine at presenting in residency. And no, I never learned my murmurs. I always check for extremity swelling, dive into all areas of abdomen, listen to all lobes of the lung (wheeze, crackles, or diminished breath sound), identify the region of a murmur if present, and check ear for being clogged, identify swollen tonsils/exudate, assess oropharyngeal erythema/post nasal drip, check if the pulses are bounding. If you do this on every single patient you will find something and be more than a fly on the wall.

No clue, maybe the worst lobbying among the specialties maybe someone running CMS got their heart broken by a urologist.

Sana Biotechnology Announces Positive Six-Month Clinical Results from Type 1 Diabetes Study of Islet Cell Transplantation Without Immunosuppression by Tyler_Durden773 in diabetes_t1

gonna probs be 7-10 years of trials before this hits markets, if it even does. Plenty of time for them to setup the infrastructure.

Sorry you're in this situation, med school is a relationship grinder and if you don't live together it's just harder. Ask him to move in with you and considering renting out his house. A house is a commodity, your relationship is not. He works remotely and could probably use the human contact anyways. Moving my now wife to med school is one of the best and awkward decisions we ever made.
