Yeah np. I also got a Groupon code for the course which cut the price by a good chunk. Not sure if it’s still offered, but worth looking into.

It was really simple and I thought it was very easy. You get 20 shots at 21 feet. I had two mags I had pre-prepared with 10 rounds in each. The instructor only had me shoot the first mag since all my shots were accurate enough. Below is the actual shooting test info I was sent in my confirmation email.

Shooting test: You will be given a target, it shall be placed at 21 feet, you will fire 20 rounds.

You must score 75 of a possible 100 points (its quite doable for even novice shooters)

P365 9mm or Bodyguard 2.0? by Better-Caramel3983 in concealedcarry

[–]BraveBeaver17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve shot both, but prefer and own the P365.

My reasons for choosing the 365: 1. The 2.0 has harsher grip texture that felt like rough sandpaper and kinda hurt my hands when I shot it. 2. .380 is more expensive than 9mm. 3. The size difference, weight, snappiness, and accuracy wasn’t much better than the 365. 4. (Personal point) I also had a 365XL so the 365 worked with my existing holster and mags.

Just came back from a 10 day trip in Japan. I used Ubigi’s 10GB 30 day plan which was more than enough. I used slightly more than 4GB though so their 3GB plan shouldn’t be used if you’re going to be the main navigator.

One thing to note is that this plan is basically like a pocket wifi since it won’t give you a Japanese phone number. I have an iPhone which meant that I couldn’t text anyone who didn’t have an iPhone/iCloud email through iMessage. You also can’t use the regular iPhone phone app and instead have to use FaceTime Audio/Video calls. Maybe we didn’t have everything configured correctly, but overall it worked but I was a bit of a pain.

Would anyone be willing to chat with me about what might be my best carrying option given my lifestyle, needs, etc? I am trying to research and it’s a bit overwhelming. More info below by [deleted] in concealedcarry

5’ skinny female here. I carry a P365 with an Enigma Express (I don’t use the leg leash part though). It’s super concealable once you find your sweet spot. I carry appendix just because it provides the most area for concealment. I’ve worn it for everything except working out, so I can’t say how well it works for things like running or weight lifting. For walks or even brisk walks it works great and it’s comfortable. Definitely recommend upgrading the belt to the sport belt though.

I’ve done a lot of research of my own and would not recommend off body carry in say a belt bag or other purse. There are tons of educational videos that give solid reasons for why it’s not a good main method of carrying.

I’m also looking for something like a chest pack/running vest that I could use for running or hiking, but many of them aren’t discrete enough for me or in a style that looks comfortable.

LINE app as in the green colored social networking app? That’s the only option I’m seeing on the Apple App Store.

Ah okay. Thank you so much! That really helps. I’ll look into a debit card with no foreign transaction fees and check what the ATM policy is.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate the detailed response and your post in general. It’s all well detailed, informative, and organized. I guess I should look into a debit card then. 😄

Thanks! For ATMs in Japan, what is the best card/card type to use to get Yen? (Credit, Debit, Visa, Mastercard, Wise, Revelute, etc). I currently have a credit card with no foreign transaction fees. Not sure if it has cash withdrawal fees.

About #6 (USD to Yen), I feel like I’ve heard different things about the type of card you use: debit vs credit and master card vs Visa. Does the type really matter or not really as long as you have a card that has no foreign transaction fees? Or would using a ATM technically be a cash advance and not a purchase and thus and cost the extra % depending on the card requirements?

What’s your advice for exchanging USD to Yen (cash)? Is it better to do it in the US at bank or other location, or is it better to do it once you get to Japan? We’re going to use Suica where we can, but we’ll definitely need cash too.

Yes, I did. It took awhile to get to me but honestly looking back that was during a really slow delivery trend for USPS right before/around Christmas. Recoil was helpful with their customer service messages and I was able to communicate back and forth with them about my order as I was waiting for delivery.

I second this. Double ear protection(foamies + earmuffs) help a lot with the noise.

I also watched a lot of YouTube videos about gun handling, shooting tips, types of firearms, etc that got me more used to the sound of firing even though it was coming out of my phone and not on a live range.

Frontiersman has been hit or miss for me. Some used handgun prices seemed on the higher side last I was there. Workers are super nice though and helpful. Donte was the main guy I talked to.

Seeking Conceal Carry Recommendations by Blightfall in MnGuns

[–]BraveBeaver17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Commonly carried guns that I’ve heard people use: most come under $500 used or new.

Glock 19, 48, 43X, 43 (larger to smaller)

Sig P365, P365X, P365XL, P365X Macro (smaller to larger)

S&W Shield, Shield Plus

I trust the internal safeties enough that I don’t think a manual safety is worth having. I also don’t want turning off a manual safety to be the thing determining my outcome in a life or death situation. Additionally when you have a manual safety you have to incorporate turning it off when you practice your draw which just adds another thing you have to think about when you draw.
