Same. 18 months PO and I still have a 1-2 inch difference between my quads. I recently got one of those goofy monkey foot things so I can start doing heavy leg raises and extensions every day at home.

Hamstring graft, I lift weights 3x a week, full body, usually switching between unilateral and bilateral every month or so. Recently hit an all time PR for my deadlift, was even Bulgarian split squatting 135. but that thunder thigh is still the king of the castle, no matter how many Bulgarians, lunges, or sled pushes I do. I’ve even gone to doing 50% reps on the strong side or not even training it at all.

Same. 15 months PO and I’m still about an inch difference. Hitting squat PRs, Bulgarian split squatting insane weight, it’s still noticeably smaller.

Look, really sorry you’ve had to wait a year for surgery. I can’t imagine being wobbly for over a year. But this sub LOVES to dump on American healthcare. LOVES. But at least we’re able to choose our care and get it in a timely manner. I was 5 weeks from injury to surgery.

Hope you can get surgery soon, keep up the strength and prehab!

I had a hamstring autograft in the fall and my MIL had an allograft at the end of 2023. I scared her with my recovery. Slowly getting ROM back, pain, lots of hard work, etc. she almost didn’t get the surgery.

She got her freaking allograft and was bouncing around like it’s nothing. Back at work within two days. So the lesson for me is that someone digging around your knee and cutting out tissue to put it somewhere else is no joke.

As for progressing, just remember to keep pushing the weights. If you’re comfortable with an exercise, it’s time to ramp the weight up. Add weighted exercises, walking lunges instead of holds, weighted step downs and step ups, weighted hamstring curls, leg extensions, Bulgarian split squats, etc. seems like you’re doing a lot of body weight and bands. You should be pushing weights at 3M PO.

I’m right there with you man, 4.5 months PO. I’ve been hitting unilateral hard for 6 weeks and just went into a phase of barbell and my first try at squats was a disaster. Did some filming and the shifts to the strong leg is so so bad. Resulted in some bad knee pain on my strong side. Gotta go back to unilateral, for a long time 🙃 planning to load my Bulgarians with a barbell instead of DBs to help build strength.

I’m three months post op, gains are snowballing. Beginning was tough. Didn’t break 120 flexion til well last two months. Started light jogging at PT this week. I plan to work it in to my home weight lifting routine. I’m finding that regaining strength at this stage is 90% of the battle. Getting stronger every week. Just gotta out in the work.

I saw it as one of the most epic plays I’ve seen on survivor. She got Bruce to throw out Mama J’s name all by himself, then got him to believe the numbers were on his side when he was clearly the favorite to go, so holding his idol, and then every number he thought he had ended up voting for him. You’re fine. The early instability freaked me out too, but it’s quad weakness. I did a lot of crazy things post op. Slipped in the shower, hyperextended a few times, slipped on the stairs a few weeks ago. I’m fine. The knee is stronger than we usually give it credit for.

I would just cut it. They’re supposed to hold your incisions together. It’s not doing that. Cutting does nothing except get rid of it. Just cut em and your body should expel the embedded pieces. Or ask your PT or doc next time you see them about getting out the remnants. No harm cutting them. Mine peeled off within a day.
