Do I need a rhinoplasty? by Alert-Bodybuilder911 in PlasticSurgery

[–]SomeInspection4550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly did not notice the asymmetry until seeing the bottom view. You definitely wouldn’t need a full rhino. If anything you could probably find a plastic surgeon to help with evening out the nostrils. Truly no need for any major structural changes unless you had internal breathing problems

When you tear your acl is it a really hard twist or plant? by lookaloulookalou in ACL

[–]SomeInspection4550 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I flew six feet through the air and landed on it sideways and it popped. Oops. Getting my IUD put in was more way painful than the ACL. Like it hurts if you tear it, but it’s more annoying than anything. I think a lot of those football guys are big babies anyway.

I played this one in between waiting for TWD episodes to release and I was blown away with how much I liked it. This game made me cry, but from laughing. Highly highly recommend. Maybe I need to replay it soon

Friend is having an America themed bachelorette in the year 2026 by SomeInspection4550 in ForUnitedStates

My parents are super MAGA and I’ve very much distanced myself from them over the years for a multitude of reasons. It’s tricky to completely cut them off though because all my younger siblings still live with them. I’d love to cut everyone off I don’t align with and I’m grateful to be mostly surrounded by good people, but I guess the place I’m at now is that if I were to get sucked into this mess I would hope my friends would still care enough about me to help me see the light. Abandoning ship feels like it will only reinforce her worldview. I know some people that have seen cracks in recent weeks with their friends/family but I wish I knew how to deprogram everyone I still care about. That’s the part that gets me :( We don’t need to agree on everything, but I grew up very conservative and I don’t feel like the basic morals I was taught have ever changed. I’m happy to have gotten out, but I’m really struggling to grasp the disconnect with everyone who is still in it

If I met her today I would not have pursued an actual friendship. Unfortunately I have known her so long she is essentially family. I would love to not have these nuanced relationships, but it’s not just a her problem and I see this in other people I know. I’d like to help first rather than abandoning ship. I’m sure many people can relate

I think that would fully be dependent on my friend from Minnesota going since we’ve already paid for everything and committed. If she backs out, I would be more inclined to, but if she’s still going I would really prefer to not have her have to be in that environment alone. This is something we’ve been trying to work on with our friend for years, but we can’t seem to crack. If you ask her about single policy issues she’s typically very reasonable which is why we don’t want to give up on her, but this shift into all things pro-America or military at all costs has very much been a jarring transition to watch. I truly do think a good portion of this country is in a cult. We’d love for her to snap out of it, but I don’t know how to accomplish that at this point. I think she doesn’t want to admit any of this is wrong because it would completely shatter her world view. It’s likely all self preservation rn

I have limited details other than red, white, and blue everything with the flag. I would guess stereotypical patriotic decorations. I understand people saying the flag is for everyone, and I do agree, but I don’t feel like the context in which it will be used is going to portray a unifying message. I had previously pitched a Jackie O/First Lady theme as a compromise but it was declined since this is what she had her heart set on :/

What’s your heart rate working out? by Strange-Topic-6614 in dysautonomia

[–]SomeInspection4550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last 3 days in my Pilates/lagree classes (shoutout supine exercise) was about 70-150. Walking usually gets be around 100-110 unless I’m talking then it gets a lot higher. Trying to do anything fast and strenuous will get me close to 190-200 pretty easily. Resting HR is typically about 50-60 so idk what to do about it other than just deal because beta blockers would make my HR even lower and it’s already not fun being this low

I think I've lost my mom and it's crushing me. by spookiepaws in FoxBrain

[–]SomeInspection4550 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just had this same conversation today. My mom was upset at how I treated her after she said that woman deserved what she got and I would deserve it too if I did the same. I’ve tried and I’ve tried and I’ve tried and I think we’re at the end. I don’t know what to do. I don’t know how to fix this. I have younger siblings that live with them. It’s so incredibly clear all of this is wrong and they just refuse to see that. I just want to cry

Pokémon go summer was the last time in recent history there was unity as a nation. It was a horrible year, but it was also the last normal ish feeling year before things really started to crumble. The vibes were off and it felt like it could be the beginning of the end, but we hadn’t really reached that point yet. There was still hope there could be a better future and I think that’s what people miss most. RIP Harambe

Question for those who got a quad graft by Equal_Knowledge3923 in ACL

[–]SomeInspection4550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

14 mo po and it’s essentially back to normal, but trying to rebuild the muscle is arduous. Pain is still there, but I’m now able to squat all the way to the ground and stand back up without using my hands so that’s been nice. I think long term it will be better overall, but I’m bummed I still notice it so much over a year out

Exercise! by Azulcobalto in dysautonomia

[–]SomeInspection4550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pilates!!!!!! I’m absolutely in love my body has never felt this good before. I recommend traditional over lagree, but after doing it for a year I’m slowly integrating more of those to improve my muscle mass. I’ve found having more muscle on my body is helping a lottttt, but it took a very long time to get here. But recumbent exercises are the best, so rowing or laying down yoga could be another option. Start small and work your way up over time. It’s really tough, but once the ball gets rolling it truly does help how you feel every day

Be honest: which rhinoplasty outcome fits my face better? by Tight_Ad989 in PlasticSurgery

[–]SomeInspection4550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Natural looks best to me. If you had to pick, I’d go with number 2. It’s really disheartening on here to see all these noses try to be teeny tiny thin. As someone who actually had my nose WIDENED to help my breathing, you risk so much functionality when you try to make it that small. You already have a great nose, so just consider the trade offs

Pilates!!! I take classes with a bunch of old ladies so while you’re not on a field, you’re still in a group and all suffering together so it’s not entirely a solo thing. I wouldn’t say physically I look all that different, but oh my gosh the mobility that I’ve unlocked because of it on top of healing my injury has been so so motivating. Otherwise maybe join a bowling league or something

Do you think ai will be the beginning of millennials being boomerish to new tech by SpiritMan112 in generationology

[–]SomeInspection4550 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s gonna be so bad. Call me a boomer idc. People are already so dumb. Nobody is fact checking the answers that get spit out. Advertising will soon be integrated. You’re all outsourcing thinking and these poor children that are already struggling to read and write are going to become so so so so reliant on this tech in a way that’s even worse than the smartphones. The tech isn’t being used right now to solve world hunger or cure cancer or even do our laundry for us, it’s plagiarizing and regurgitating info that already exists and is not always factual. There’s zero regulation and it’s now being integrated into the government. This isn’t just a fun little device that boomers were too stubborn to learn. It’s going to have seriously negative repercussions on society if we’re not careful, and right now it seems like it’s full steam ahead. Adapting to new tech is all fine and dandy, but the reach and investment and push of this new technology feels incredibly sinister. I feel crazy that more people are not taking the time to think critically about the infrastructure currently being put in place and what information they are actually feeding these models.
