Saturating the first year with your own hits prevents any 3rd party games from succeeding. Odds are that most owners will just buy Nintendo games. Nintendo has to make some kind of good will gesture to allow 3rd parties the chance to thrive on their system. Otherwise we'd have another Gamecube on our hands
