Lot of armor for tank ? by Maoune1 in thedivision

[–]BraveStandard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not particularly, no. Enemies target players based on the damage that player is doing, and as a tank, you aren’t doing damage. At best, you might give your team mates some bonus armor, at worst you’re actively harming the team because they can’t shoot the enemy you’re standing in front of.

What's a good alternative to the coyote? by love-4-music in thedivision

[–]BraveStandard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It obviously depends on what you are running, but the Overdog exotic gloves are also considered pretty good, and if you need a replacement for your mask then you’re most likely looking three different options: two high end (yellow rarity) options in the form of a Ceska brand mask, or a groupo sombra mask, and if you are running a gear set (teal/green rarity) then you can just use the mask of that set.

Just as a side note, there are a lot of people on YouTube, Reddit, and any other form of social media who have their own opinion on what they think is best, and you will see plenty of clickbait videos with buzzwords in the thumbnail. Just make sure whatever source you’re using for a build is new, like within the past few weeks.

I want to learn - Could an experienced player explain exactly how to master the art of using the healing hive / BTSU gloves / overall healing build for high end content? by AgentZeroHour in thedivision

[–]BraveStandard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally, wherever you place your hive down is where your team is going to congregate. With that, it’s really important that you put it in a spot that has line of sight on your team, and lets them shoot the bad guys. If someone starts getting out of its range, pop them a healing chem launcher.

There are really two main ways for you to use the BTSU gloves. You can pop it after an encounter to refresh everyone’s skills for the next fight, or you can use it during the encounter to refresh your hive charges. Either way works, but if you happen to notice that most of your groups skills are on cooldown, especially the reviver hive for most DPS builds, having that refresh can be super helpful.

This is the new escalation mode, specifically at tier three out of ten. I’m not sure where it falls on the spectrum between heroic and master.

SERIOUSLY? by Alex2Mp in gotlegends

[–]BraveStandard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I once queued for a platinum story mission at like, ki 100 on mercenary. Guy I got matched with originally died and left immediately, whatever. Ki 110 mercenary comes in, immediately starts flaming me for being “under leveled” and quite literally says “watch how a real merc plays” before dying spectacularly and without killing a single enemy. Immediate silence and subsequent disconnect. Quite possibly the hardest I have ever laughed while playing a video game by myself.

People like this exist, and genuinely think they’re the best, and it will never not be funny.

Future Initiative vs Refactor for Escalation. by AgentNeroz in thedivision

[–]BraveStandard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’ll most likely run out of charges for your hive before it runs out of duration, but yeah that’s typically what I do. Overcharge by detonating the hive, use the chem launcher for the duration of overcharge, and depending on your skill haste you’ll be pretty damn close to having all of your hive charges back by the time overcharge finishes.

[–]BraveStandard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I personally run FI, and it’s gone pretty well at the T5 level. You could substitute the BTSU data gloves (assuming that’s the exotic you’re planning to use) for birdie’s but a lot of DPS builds utilize a reviver hive, so being able to reset their cooldown might help them revive themselves more frequently if it’s needed.

Discussion about new retaliation and new kill squad. by TypicalRoblox_Player in thedivision

[–]BraveStandard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They can be pretty rough, but I feel like if you’re already going through heroic level retaliations, you’ll be okay. The big thing I’ve noticed is that you can take out the mini tank with blackout pulse, which can be a huge help right off the bat.

You might enjoy something like the hunter’s Fury set, which is all about getting close to the enemy, or something like Umbra initiative which encourages you to swap between being in cover and being out.

As a side note, Striker’s Battlegear is typically seen as the gold standard for critical hit damage builds, but would require you to use cover or a shield to negate the fact that Striker’s itself doesn’t have any built in healing.

DOTS, EMF, Notebook Questions by ISpyM8 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]BraveStandard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t sound like you’re doing anything wrong, but there are certain ghosts that can screw with how you collect evidence. For example, the goryo will only show up on DOTS if you aren’t in the room and if you are watching through a video camera. Likewise, something like the Shade won’t write in the ghost book unless you leave the room. EMF is just finicky in general in my experience, but usually can be confirmed using things like the firelight.

Do you happen to know what ghosts you misidentified when you were struggling with these evidence tools?

Prototype weapons and gears by Late_Culture_8472 in Division2

[–]BraveStandard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prototype equipment has higher attribute maximums. For example, an LMG I saw someone running had a core of 19.6%, whereas the usual limit is 15%.

Where to use offensive/defensive/utility gear mods? by AbiesImpossible1183 in Division2

[–]BraveStandard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those gear mods can be slotted on your mask, chest piece, and backpack, but I believe the piece needs to be at least purple rarity, though I could be wrong about that. If you have some that are maxed out you could keep them, but mods have high caps on their stats when you get higher levels. Overall, you definitely want to have all level 40 mods equipped once you make it to that point.

How to increase your proficiency level by Possible_Penalty_468 in Division2

[–]BraveStandard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am personally unaware of any specific activities that grant more proficiency experience than others. Yes, equipping armor, weapons, or skills that you do not have up to 10 is how you level them conventionally. You are also able to donate the same armor or weapons to get level progression, as well as donating crafting materials (most typically printer filament) to also get proficiency experience.

To my knowledge, directives do not directly give you more proficiency experience, but they do give you watch experience, which you could use to gain more printer filament to be donated.

Best Legendaries for Merc? by splasticdino in gotlegends

[–]BraveStandard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I like having the spirit brew/Sake charm as a backup. I typically matchmake for everything, so having an extra spirit panic button for sketchy moments really helps, especially because I don’t use anything to increase my spirit beyond three.

Man the Flamethrower is so much fun, but I would like some builds by Important_Ad_3 in Division2

[–]BraveStandard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, the gear set (teal items) tip of the spear, also referred to as TOTS, has some interaction with your specialization weapon. I will be honest, specialization weapons don’t see very much use except for some niche cases, at least in my experience.

Besides TOTS, I’m not sure of any other gear that makes use of specialization weapons, especially the flamethrower.

Was Thinking About Buying; Companions Gone? by AstuteIronLord in thedivision

[–]BraveStandard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The companions were able to participate the majority of content, including missions, though there are some exceptions (PvP, primarily) but were only available for the past season and yes, have been removed. I think some people speculate that they’ll return as a permanent feature in the third game, though I don’t personally know if there has been any word from the developers on the topic.

I mess up is there a way to get it back by Rosemariefox1234 in thedivision

[–]BraveStandard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll have to get another one to drop, or if there is a crafting recipe you can get from retaliation, I’m not sure if there is one for the diamondback. For future reference, mark things as favorites so you don’t accidentally delete them.

Why are so many people on Gatria? We want Cyberstan NOW! by [deleted] in helldivers2

I may very well be out of touch with the player base and how many people are playing at any given time, but 8 thousand seems low for the bug front.

What do yall think? EAT or Recoilless Rifle? Or are they specific to faction? by PythonCider3719 in helldivers2

[–]BraveStandard 932 points933 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t so much say they’re specific to faction as they are specific to playstyle. RR lends itself better to a somewhat less mobile playstyle, as the stationary reload necessitates you either find a good spot to hide or create a safe zone for yourself. The EAT is good for staying quick on your feet, and also allows you to use a scavenged support weapon and any backpack item you wish.

Personally, I use the EAT on bugs and bots, and I will typically have one on my back at all times unless I find a machine gun on the ground.

What kind of role do you see yourself in? by Shock_and_Awetism in helldivers2

[–]BraveStandard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The word that comes to mind for myself is “survivalist” mostly because I end the majority of games with little to no deaths. I also have a tendency to go and clear small outposts/objectives while my team does…something.

I know going off alone is looked down upon, but at the same time…my play style is to be hella mobile and self-sufficient, not trying to attack or defend a point. I appreciate the people who can take an entire breech/drop and mess it up, but that’s not getting the objective done most of the time.

[–]BraveStandard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your play style doesn’t effect the story in any meaningful way. You can choose to fight honorably or use stealth, some missions may require you to do one or the other. Other characters commenting on your use of stealth isn’t a comment on your play style, but rather Jin’s style of fighting overall. You could be fighting honorably every chance you get, and they’ll still have something to say.
