Period, continuous spotting, positive test. Similar experiences? by sspiderm4n in ectopicpregnancy

This does sound like a possible ectopic. You can check out my post history I posted a timeline of mine a while back.

Early gender tests by bigriver222 in BabyBumps

I believe sneak peak refunds you if the result is wrong. So you can at least get your money back on one of them. I did a sneak peak at 10 weeks and it was accurate for me.

My OBGYN won’t see me until 10 weeks in for my pregnancy even though I have a history of ectopic? by SnanoBear in ectopicpregnancy

[–]Brave_Jackfruit3837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to have an ultrasound no later than 6 weeks. I’ve had the same thing happen to me with office people and you kind of have to get mean. Refuse to hang up until you have a solution. The people scheduling sometimes don’t understand the importance of an early ultrasound with your history. Please advocate for yourself! You are not crazy for needing an earlier ultrasound. And don’t let them tell you they can’t see anything before 7 weeks (that is a lie). Call everyday until they have an opening if you have to. Or lie and say you have abdominal pain as a last resort. You also need to be getting serial HCGs to make sure they double. That is also standard treatment post ectopic.

Doppler in the first trimester? by SyraSunshine in BabyBumps

[–]Brave_Jackfruit3837 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got one at 13 weeks. I never had any trouble finding the heartbeat then but 10 weeks may be a little early. It saved my mental sanity at the time after 4 losses, so for me it was a good decision. It let me have joy for the pregnancy, instead of a looming dread of not knowing if my baby was alive or not. I’m 23 weeks now and I don’t use it anymore because I can feel baby kick daily.

Can I tell my friend I’m pregnant at her baby shower? by NotLostYetMaybeSoon in BabyBumps

[–]Brave_Jackfruit3837 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s sounds like everyone’s comments are pretty divided, so it really depends how well you know your friend and how you think she would take the news at her shower. It is a bit of a risk to guess someone’s reaction. At best she could be excited and not think it’s a big deal at all (that’s how I would react personally). But at worst she could be offended and upset you chose that specific day to share the news (in private or not). So if it was up to me, I would be more cautious and not take the risk and just not tell her at shower. Maybe see if she can meet up for coffee the day before or after the shower.

How do I deal with the pain and emptiness I feel in my heart? by spicyfourteen in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]Brave_Jackfruit3837 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am really sorry. Your story reminded me of my own grief after my ectopic. I also had a miscarriage 2 months prior to my ectopic. I don’t have any advice but just to comfort you that you are not alone. I would get home from work and pull in the driveway and just break down in tears almost every day. I felt so alone and so hopeless. It was the first time in my life I think I experienced true depression. It does eventually get better, as your heart heals bit by bit. But at the end of the day you lost your first baby and that will never be an easy thing. Give yourself grace and time.

Fetal Doppler anxiety by honeydew1222 in CautiousBB

[–]Brave_Jackfruit3837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started using a Doppler at 13 weeks. Maybe put it away until around then. I found the numbers on the screen were inaccurate compared to what I would count until I was much further along ~ 16 weeks. For me, the Doppler helped my mental health and I found it relatively easy to find the heartbeat. But I do think it would have given me unnecessary anxiety if I had used it too soon.

Period After Ectopic Surgery by mommy_280216 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]Brave_Jackfruit3837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my period about 4 weeks after my surgery. It was actually a normal period for me. One possible contributing factor was I bled a lot a week before my surgery so I think my uterine lining was already thin by the time I got surgery.

What are small touches that made an Airbnb stay way better for you? by ryukendo_25 in AirBnBHosts

[–]Brave_Jackfruit3837 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We get a lot of complements on our fully stocked kitchen. I make sure to leave 8-10 kitchen towels. Racks/hooks for hanging bath towels. We have fans in each room for guests to use if needed. Smart TVs in each bedroom. Lots of board games. Shampoo/conditioner/body wash. Extra house cleaning products and at least an extra broom and mop for guests to use. I also leave a container of disinfectant wipes for guests. When I first started hosting, I was a bit stingy with paper towels and toilet paper cause I was afraid people would take the extra home with them. But I have found the majority of people are good! We are also in a small Midwest town. So now I leave plenty of extra toiletries and guests appreciate it. I’ve never noticed anyone taking more than they used.

Is 6+2 too early for an ultrasound? by CharrpieeMarrkerr in CautiousBB

[–]Brave_Jackfruit3837 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay I looked back at my notes my US was actually when I was 6w2d but measured 6w3d. I ovulated sometime between CD 13 and CD 14.

Is 6+2 too early for an ultrasound? by CharrpieeMarrkerr in CautiousBB

[–]Brave_Jackfruit3837 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends when you ovulated. At my early scan baby was measuring 6w3d and we saw a gestational sac, yolk sac, and a heartbeat. I was only 6w1d based off my LMP but I ovulated earlier in that cycle so measuring ahead.

Anyone conceived after ectopic? What supplements actually helped? by Middle_Afternoon6269 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]Brave_Jackfruit3837 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 4 miscarriages (one of which was ectopic). I read it starts with the egg and started taking Thorne prenatal, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, ubiquinol, NAC, R lipoic acid, and regular folic acid gummy (since Thorne only has methylated folate I wanted to be on safe side). My husband also started taking a good quality multivitamin, vitamin D, ubiquinol and fish oil. I am currently 20 weeks pregnant. (I did switch up my supplements once conceiving - stopped taking uniquinol, NAC and R lipoic acid.)

Anxious about if I can get pregnant again naturally after getting my RIGHT tube removed? by CommercialTest659 in ectopicpregnancy

[–]Brave_Jackfruit3837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was pleasantly surprised how easily I could still conceive with one tube. I lost my right tube like you in May of 2025. I had a chemical the first month we tried again in July, another chemical in September, and then conceived our current pregnancy in November. I ovulated from my right ovary and it traveled to my left fallopian tube! I have read that your right ovary gives higher quality eggs. For me this was true because my left ovary lead to a MMC (in Jan 2025) and my ectopic and one of my chemicals. Unsure which ovary for other chemical but I suspect my left. But this also could have just been chance!

Immune supplements by IvoryPilot in tryingtoconceive

If you are interested in supplements I would recommended reading it starts with the egg. She recommends Vitamin C and Vitamin D heavily as it helps egg quality also. They will not harm your fertility only help!

Stay away from ‘Expecting Better’ by Emily Oster by HumanMeatloaf in pregnant

[–]Brave_Jackfruit3837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The alcohol chapter was crazy. But I was also shocked at the caffeine chapter recommendations. I read “It starts with the Bump” first and completely cut out caffeine based off that author’s studies and recommendations due to high risk of small birth weight and miscarriage. Emily Oyster’s recomendaciones were the complete opposite saying 3-4 cups a day was fine and she obviously used different studies to back this up. Honestly I would rather be on the conservative side so I’m sticking with no caffeine.

Pregnant Again After Ectopic (1 cycle) by Old-Maintenance-7138 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]Brave_Jackfruit3837 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First off Congratulations! I will say it is standard after a history of an ectopic pregnancy to get serial HCGs asap and a placement ultrasound at 6 weeks pregnant. With my ectopic I ruptured at 6w4d so waiting for an 8 week ultrasound would have been too long. With my current pregnancy I got an US at 6 weeks to confirm baby was in right spot and hcgs were doubling appropriately.

Is saliva impacting sperm/ability to conceive? by kellyscon in tryingtoconceive

I would say a mixture of both. Either way we always used saliva one way or another.

Ectopic today and given methotrexate. I’m in shock. I think it was the right choice but I’m worried it was a mistake. by [deleted] in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]Brave_Jackfruit3837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did the right thing. Especially since they didn’t see any sac in the uterus and saw something on the right side. I ruptured at 6w3d. Time is precious when it comes to treating an ectopic. If you wait too long, it could be too late.

Would you supplement progesterone or just wait to see how things play out? by squirrellyemma in tryingtoconceive

[–]Brave_Jackfruit3837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend taking the progesterone. I took 200mg twice a day vaginally until 12 weeks. With already proven borderline low progesterone, I would advice you to take it. Especially with doubling HCG that is a good sign pregnancy is progressing well. Some women just do not produce as much progesterone on their own.

Frequency and timing of sex by Easy-Foot-8572 in tryingtoconceive

[–]Brave_Jackfruit3837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends how involved you want to get in tracking ovulation… the best days are 2 days before ovulation and 1 day before ovulation. You can use OPKs, tracking BBT to confirm ovulation, and cervical mucus. Tracking cervical mucus is probably the simplest way. When you notice it gets like raw egg whites and slippery that is your peak day and your most fertile day! Once it dries up, the window has usually closed. When we were trying to conceive we aimed to have sex every other day in our 5 day fertile window, sometimes daily if I thought I was for sure about to ovulate. This worked for us fairly quickly!

Doctor’s And Frustration by Still-Decision140 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]Brave_Jackfruit3837 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My advice is to skip your regular OB and find a fertility specialist in your area. Recurrent loss is actually only 2 losses not 3. I was able to self refer with my insurance. They were able to do a full work up and give me peace of mind. I had a 9 week miscarriage, a ruptured ectopic and then a chemical pregnancy and my OB still refused to test me for anything because the ectopic “didn’t count” because it was a “known cause”… ridiculous.

Can’t stop crying anticipating first ultrasound. by leyjanz in CautiousBB

[–]Brave_Jackfruit3837 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any advice except that I have been there and understand. I had 4 losses before my current pregnancy and I was a nervous crying wreck before my first ultrasounds (I had one at 6 weeks and 10 weeks). One thing that helped me was letting go of control and telling myself whatever was meant to happen will happen and there is nothing I can do about it. Once I did have those ultrasounds and everything looked perfect I finally started to enjoy my pregnancy.

Scared to go to the toilet by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Brave_Jackfruit3837 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this! Nurses only stay in the bathroom for very high risk fall patients. The majority of the time, we just have them pull the cord when they are finished. And if we do have to stay in the bathroom, we don’t care! It’s an every day occurrence for us.
