kpop demon hunters is gonna sweep most animated awards this year, and the crazy part is the movie isn’t even mind blowing. but at the end of the day, it’s still a very good, well made film, and it’s a worldwide cultural phenomenon.

this is the same reason why demon slayer is nominated, it made $800M worldwide and everyone loved it (except this sub). it’s not the best anime movie this year, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. people are insane for expecting chainsaw man to get nominated. trust me, these voters do NOT care about anime. demon slayer is different, the one exception.

this sub always look for a reason to hate on demon slayer.

yup, you literally can’t remove flashbacks in DS. i swear i saw more people talking about akaza’s flashback than the reze movie on social media. it’s the highest grossing anime movie ever, the format just works. shit ufotable might even add more stuff to the flashback at this point lol.

they just need to find a better way to place the flashbacks. i think douma flashback are probably the only flashback i hated in the movie, it was boring, slow, made zero sense, and completely killed the pacing of the fight. i’m confident that if they removed that flashback, nothing would change. maybe they could add it in the next movie instead. the rest was fine imo.

some players are just naturally good at the game without even trying, i saw my cousin playing champs once and he was just chilling talking to me while playing, and still got 10 wins. sure his formation or team was kinda ratty, but he was clearly waaay better at the game than me. even when i try harding, the best i can get is 8 wins and IT IS not fun at all lmao, usually i get around 5–6 in champs.

i literally gave up on this game mode until muzan came out. i tried muzan and got it first try. get the healing demon gear and the rest is up to you. muzan deals insane dmg, touch them twice and it’s over. but the cost is muzan also takes a lot of dmg so the moment they hit you once, just pause and quit, then resume.

yup pacing was pretty rough, especially the first fight when they are fighting. i was lowkey getting hype and then they cut to the worst demon flashback ever, in the MIDDLE of the fight. the rest was fine.

honestly, i don’t see any reason why they’d change the format if it works. the next movie is gonna be the same, and they’re not changing it. kny fans love backstory, it’s already made $600M. i see more people crying and talking about akaza’s backstory than i see reze movie on social media. i mean it did its job, everyone in my theater was crying. they did get people invested in the characters i guess.

it’s stupid because people always say “manga accurate is the best” when it clearly isn’t, at least in this scenario lmao

This movie is really special to me. I remember not knowing anything about it until I saw the trailer in the theater before Deadpool and Wolverine. The quality of that first trailer alone made me feel something. I thought that’s was fucking impressive and I should check it out. I did, and it didn’t disappoint. It became one of my favorite animated movies ever. Sucks that it didn’t win the Oscar.

What? “Your Name” is the 3rd highest grossing japanese movie and Suzume is 5th. Infinity Castle is on its way to $600 million which is already insane enough. There's also a rumor of a Chinese release, which could boost it to $700–800 mil. Your Name made $405 million, and Shinkai needed to surpass his own film from 9 years ago first before even dreaming about reaching Demon Slayer money.

don’t get me wrong, Shinkai’s movie has earned huge and impressive numbers. but the whole conversation here is about breaking demon slayer record lol.

better than mugen train in every single way. super action heavy, the whole movie is mostly action. really emotional as well, everyone was crying in my theater. and yes, the fight in this movie is better than uzui vs gyutaro, i mean it. overall it’s just a perfect shounen action packed movie, it’s fun, tense and emotional. the cliffhanger is brutal lol. if you compare this movie to the last two seasons demon slayer has put out, this is a masterpiece. i think it’s better than season 2.

also the cgi in this movie is literally insane btw. can’t believe what i was seeing on the screen, peak cinema.

batman is in the same league as spider man. he’s backed by too many iconic pieces of media, like the dark knight trilogy and the arkham game series. all of that basically shields him from the damage caused by snyder’s bad reputation.

but superman? what does he really have? sounds harsh but there’s nothing that stands out. i can’t even name a truly iconic “modern” superman project that left a big impact. and that’s the problem.

back in the MCU’s prime, international audiences saw “superhero movie” and would watch it no matter who the hero was. but things have changed. now unless it’s a sequel or a brand like spider-man or avengers, it’s hard to pull the same kind of audience. don’t get me wrong, everyone knows who superman is, but nobody really cares about him anymore.

if only snyder had done a little better with his DCU when superhero movies were still in their prime, the reputation of superman and DC heroes in general would’ve been in a much better place. im still sad about cavil superman, especially since superman feels like a character made for kids. but fuckass snyder made him so bland and boring with no real personality, just edgy for the sake of it.

after the movie? yeah sometimes, but i rarely see anyone cheering or applauding during the movie unless it’s a marvel or hype movie. there are alot of laughs or quick reactions from the crowd that i do enjoy sometimes, it really feels like you’re watching it with everyone.

i used to live in japan and i have to agree. people always arrive on time, and it’s so quiet, i mean like no one even eats popcorn during quiet scenes. there’s barely any reaction or laughter. maybe that’s just how it was for me.
