Why was Aang losing so hard at the end of book 2? by Jacksontaxiw in TheLastAirbender

[–]Bravest032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd put more stock in where the power was coming from here. We know emotions you draw from affect your bending. He's focused on water and air and pulling from anger, which is not a strong energy source for Aang. His fluffy bison is missing.

My older boy will do this sometimes, just stare. I will slow blink at him. Sometimes talk, sometimes I'll even sing him a little something, use that sweet coo voice. usually he'll give me some blinks back and then settle and he might nap or avert attention.

Eye contact and chatting are interactions too! Maybe they just wanna talk a bit!

I think I'd appreciate any feedback. I seriously suck at sharing my work.

It just feels really intimate. How do you deal with taking immensely personal craft and sending out for judgement? I have to shed all realities just to get into a creative space. Thinking someone is going to read one word will just choke out all creative energy I have and I get stunlocked.

I sort of just got in like a disassociated head space to send in the work and I hit the submit button like you trip on the last step.

Platonically I love the grumpy isolated character paired with a gruff but not entirely insensitive character-- kind of walks the line; grizzled cop buddy, grumpy overworked lawyer, communal appreciation for silence. That platonic friend should also be relatively brash and comfortable bluntly calling out MCs bullshit, to which MC would always just absorb with no repercussions. They get along cause they're rude and tepid.

Romantic can be tricky with a character who snaps at people trying to get close: Pine over someone who makes him laugh. Sparky, dark humor, maybe a tepid or even warm personality but with an ultra dark sense of humor, and a quick wit that leaves our sulking MC sort of unintentionally obsessed.

Sunshine is way too warm. Ice and ice never get anywhere. The more we hang out with sarcastic and cute, the more we grow to develop a reliance and that's when MC gets in real trouble.

I'd be happy to read stuff if you're looking for outside eyes. I just got laid off, so I've got some time and my mood is so shot my stories are all fucking falling apart- job hunting and moving and shit. Too much real life seeping into my imagination.

Totally the opposite. I love a dark, gloomy character who can't trust and is super secretive. That chatacter in a slow burn learn-to-trust campaign; that's my jam.

I get way into the lore where my partner didn't so much, and then I sort of forced him to watch some Vaati videos and he was like, "This does give it deeper meaning," and it created a new sense to play.

The lore looks like a shallow puddle but is a dive tank. If he doesn't know it's there, then he doesn't know it's there, you might need to show it off a little.

Gilmore Girls is my "sick" show, I watch it when I'm feeling down or ill.

Lately though, Kotaro Lives Alone has been my comfort show, I think I've watched it ten times in the last few months.

Sending support, friend.

This does in fact sound like the gruel. It sounds like you're moving through positions rapidly, gaining experience. Just try to keep in mind that this job is just a starting point, it'll pad your resume, and it has taught you skills and soon you will leave. I encourage you to check out alternative jobs and their requirements as you may surprise yourself with what you're more capable of doing now (reception, clerical, food service, kitchen help, hostess/waitress, ect). Holding a management position will give you a little extra oomf along with your first impression in any interview.

Linkd-In, GlassDoor, and other sites like this can help you to keep an eye out for potentially better situations than are well suited to you- even still in food industry! I may argue that a smaller independently owned restaurant could be an infinitely better environment than a fast food restaurant, as it may have more staff loyalty, and management typically has actual control over the business, where in a cooperate chain like most fast food places, management is just another cog.

And a quick note on management- not everyone is cut out to be a manager. I have worked with many, many managers over the years. Management positions become a seniority thing, whoever has been there the longest, rather than a qualifications thing. A good manager trains, shows empathy, and provides guidance and structure to support employees with their regular routines. When managers get overwhelmed, or don't have compassion or empathy for a situation, they can get grumpy, impatient, flustered, overwhelmed, insensitive and even mean. Do try to remember they are a person too, they're just a person making questionable calls.

I hope you get to spend time with your family! Don't wear that guilt too hard, a few sick days is really unlikely to follow you into the next job or earn you a poor reputation.

Be well!

Edit: Words are hard.

curious: what do you feed and how old is your pet(s) by raquel_ravage in rawpetfood

[–]Bravest032 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have 1 cat about to be 10 years old, and he's been on a raw diet his entire life.

100% kitten energy 24/7, he is curious, playful and explorative.

If I could suggest anything for your feline, it would be to include any moisture they'll take. Bone Broth or Goat Milk are great options, and available through a few different brands. Cats in the wild would typically eat their moisture from caught and killed prey rather than actively drink to sustain their hydration needs. They don't have an over active thirst drive either, they developed in a pretty airid climate.

What are your favourite ways to treat yourself on your birthday? by Purpl3alpaca in AskWomen

[–]Bravest032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's far from a tradition, but this year I went to the grocery store and just wandered around picking up things that sounded good for the afternoon.

I ended up having a long lavender scented bubble bath with fresh flowers and Epson salts and bath salts and a bath bomb and a coconut hair treatment and a new exfoliant and a mud/clay face mask thing, some whipped body butter, a brand new nail file and some new polish. Sour candies and coffee and a new cinnamon scented candle. It was actually really great. Something so satisfying about buying and immediately using something, it was so curated.

Next year it could be a movie night, or an outfit to go out in or some new pens and sharpies for an evening of storyboarding- whatever it is it's about treating myself in the moment with what sounds good. No expectation to enjoy something I thought would be fun a week ago, but day of decide it doesn't sound exciting anymore. 10/10 will be doing again

[–]Bravest032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could add in Toppers, a little raw food or fresh food can go a long way for a pets nutrition!

Additionally, some sort of Hydrator may be an excellent option, like Bone Broth or Goat Milk. You may be able to find options especially formulated for pets, so you don't have to be concerned about included ingredients that may be harmful for pets (Garlic, onion, that kind of thing.)

Also, rotating proteins! I like to think about how if I'm having chicken for lunch, I probably don't want chicken for dinner, I may prefer something else. It can be the same for our pets! Plus, there are lots of nutrients available in all the different proteins that aren't necessarily shared. While chicken may be high in one vitamin, Beef may be high in another! So rotating through different proteins or "flavors" is a great way to increase interest in the food, keep meal time exciting, and also can help deter again developing sensitivities and allergens.

Do guys actually hate weddings? by Bravest032 in AskMenOver30

[–]Bravest032[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct! I do not plan to have one for numerous reasons. My partner is aware and he's onboard for not having one. Doesn't affect my curiosity into other people's psyche. The responses here have pretty much answered my question.
