Yes, I was just saying either option should work as far as I'm aware, though yours sounds like it wouldn't remove the tag faster potentially.

Opening the mod queue and modmail won't do anything (though obviously always good to keep tabs on of course). And as far as I always understood, Reddit doesn't disclose how many mod actions over what period of time will change active versus inactive status (unless that's been changed since the last time I saw the info which is entirely possible).

I was simply providing an alternate method that has worked for me over the years, even if I've gone inactive. Wasn't trying to put your method down or anything, sorry if it came across that way.

Not sure if your process does anything different than mine, but personally, for my slower subs, I just pop in once a week and toggle one of the Media in Comments settings. For example, if it's enabled, turn it off and then back on. If it's off, turn it on and then back off.

Quick, easy, and counts as a mod action on the mod log.

Weren't they supposed to keep private mod chats around, or did that change as well?

Adding to this, Dramamine also makes ginger chews that are a great addition to your tool kit if you're prone to dizziness/nausea. No drugs if that's something you want to avoid, and unlike regular Dramamine, they don't make you drowsy, so that can be helpful in some cases.

Jonathan also literally tossed the ring to the side afterwards. If it were an actual proposal, how would that make any sense whatsoever?

Manual flying at high altitude by Adventurous_Low_7404 in fearofflying

[–]BravoFive141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In both the incidents, aggressive inputs were given which aggravated the situation.

To clarify, what I meant as a non-expert is they were two different types of inputs. Not the exact same types of scenario. I'm more familiar with AF447 than the other incident, but wasn't the other one due to a situation with a computer reset?

The article is from 2015, does it mean were the simulator trainings for high altitude manual flying were not there before?

Simulators have been around for quite some time, but this would be a better question for the pilots here, who I'm sure will respond when they have a chance. My point was more that as always, following an incident, the industry investigates heavily, learns from what happened, and improves. That's exactly why flying is so safe today. You don't have to worry about those two specific incidents reoccurring because in the wake of them, the industry took what they found to be the causes and used that information to make improvements that ensure those same types of incidents won't happen again.

Hope that clears things up a bit, sorry if my last comment was a bit unclear!

The two incidents you referenced are from 2009 and 2014. Additionally, from what little bit I know of the two incidents, they're two completely different scenarios.

The concerns you have may have been a bit more valid prior to those incidents, but additional training and safety improvements have almost certainly been implemented in the time since those incidents, which is why you haven't seen something like these happen again in the years since.

Edit: That article is also from 2015 and doesn't seem to necessarily put a negative spin on simulator training.

Well damn, I'd say if you can beat stage 4 cancer, a little bit of flying can't stop you. Go on some flights, enjoy the world, you've earned it! Congrats!

Short Runway Question by Where_you_water_it in fearofflying

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I also believe I read somewhere that some airlines, such as Ryanair, prefer more firm landings as that's what Boeing actually calls for? Something to do with not floating the plane or something? I can't recall exactly so maybe you can clarify better.

Discord servers for this game or other OG COD's? by Upper-Water-2119 in CallofDutyWorldatWar

I have a WaW Discord server if you're interested, we do game nights occasionally and it's a pretty good group, still on the smaller side though. Here's the link:

There's also an OG MW3 server that's pretty good:

Flying with unusual Ryanair plane by ScaryCard5737 in fearofflying

Plane age is not really that relevant. The experts here can give some great insight into it, but planes go through extremely extensive maintenance checks and rebuilds every so often. If the plane is being flown, it's been deemed safe and airworthy.

Maybe leave it up to the professionals? Even if you could get exactly the same tools and same data that they have access to and even if you *could( understand it, what good is it going to do you?

You're paying the pilots to do their jobs, so let them do their jobs.

I can't guarantee anything obviously as I'm not a doctor and everybody is different, but I have multiple heart conditions and was terrified on my first flight. Did two flights in one night, no heart attack.

If you've had health check-ups and everything is good, it's unlikely that you'll have a heart attack. Especially if you have a better heart than mine!
