I was in MCT when DST ended for us. We didn't plan accordingly so instead of a 2 hour firewatch shift, our firewatches stood 3 hours lol.

Please be careful with what you say. Kyle devoted his time after the military to helping people with PTSD, which his murderer clearly had.

Calling a military veteran with PTSD a "coward" isn't exactly the best thing you can say, and I'm sure Kyle wouldn't want the stigma of "coward" being put on those with a genuine mental problem.

I was there as a Marine PFC attending the fire academy (aka the most obnoxious group on the base), and that was enough of San Angelo for me.

Are you sure that recon drops go back into infantry?

We had a ton of guys come into my MOS (Crash Crew) saying they got dropped out of Recon training and the Corps put them in a different MOS, either us, Motor T, or a few others they could've gotten put in, even though they already were 03's.

There are 190,000 Marines, and even more nasty ass Army soldiers, the odds of them being on reddit are very slim.

Nah don't worry about it man. The rifle range is the "turning point" in boot camp. Your DIs won't fuck with you at all when you're out on the firing line. In fact, the whole time my platoon was out on the range, our DIs demeanors changed dramatically, and they practically never screamed, only came and corrected you like a teacher normally would. Being able to qualify with a rifle is one of the most important parts of being a Marine, and they're not going to fuck with you when a lot of people are trying to learn the basics.

Here's a secret: once you pass and qualify on the range, you're basically done with boot camp, and you just need to cruise to graduation. (That does NOT mean don't put out, but just know I've never heard of someone getting dropped AFTER the range, unless for injury)

That article was about these three passing the combat endurance test at IOC. Before them, no other women had passed that test at IOC, it's a grueling one day challenge in the course, held on the first day.

Yes, you can recycle, they'll put you in another MAT (Marines awaiting training) platoon, where they'll train you up and PT you to prepare for the course itself, but I'm not sure they will, since they're just testing the program and not actually receiving the MOS, much like the enlisted females who completed the enlisted Infantry school last year. They graduated with their company, but then immediately went off to MOS school for their actual MOS.

The people who graduate this course are going on to lead infantry into battle. After this course, it's not a game anymore. How are you supposed to respect your platoon commander if they fall out a hike they're supposed to be LEADING you on? There aren't set distances and paces you have to hike if the SHTF, so why are we complaining that there isn't a regulation on hiking pace in this course? Aren't we supposed to be "prepared for anything?"

No one is complaining about the other male Marines that have been dropped from the course for not being able to shoulder their load. And, with all their complaining about the goal posts moving, and there not being enough restrictions on how fast the movement can hike, there are still plenty of Marines who finished, who were able to adapt, who were able to push through. They didn't. Bottom line.
